Don’t Worry

Good morning today is the 17th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is Don’t Worry.

The Bible tells us not to worry about anything but pray about everything. Whenever we worry we’re saying; that we don’t trust God. However, when we pray we’re saying; Lord I give it all to you because you can handle it. So, don’t worry but seek God. Seek his directions and instructions. He knows all about it, he’s just waiting on us to trust him enough to handle it. Besides worrying doesn’t solve any of our problems.

Matthew 6:25-34

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Encourage Yourself

Good morning today is the 16th day of the Daniel Fast and our Focus today is Encouraging Yourself.

In life it’s good to have people who believe in you and believe in your dreams. However, if we be realistic we know this doesn’t always happen. It’s in these moments that we have to encourage ourselves and believe in ourselves even when everyone around us is laughing, doubting, and mocking us. If you don’t learn how to encourage yourself then your dreams and beliefs with be predicated on someone else’s belief in you. We should never give anyone power over our hopes and dreams.

1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Watch what you say

Good morning today is the 15th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus today is Watching What We Say

Some people talk only if they have something to say. Other people talk just to hear themselves. We must be careful with what we say because we are going to have to give an account for the very words we speak out of our mouth. Some of us are careful about what we put on social media because it could have a profound affect on our jobs. But we need to watch what we say because it can have a profound affect on us at judgment day.

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Bitterness

Good morning today is the 14th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is Bitterness.

Bitterness in a person means they desire to make someone else suffer. As Christians the Bible tells us to put away bitterness and forgive. I know you think you may feel justified in being bitter and angry but God wants us to do the opposite. When we are not the ones going through the hurt and hardship we often tell our friends “what would Jesus do”, but when we find ourselves experiencing hurt and hardship we forget about this and want to react worldly. This is not God’s way of doing things.

Ephesians 4:31-32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Being Alert

Good morning today is the 13th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is Being Alert

In the Army every soldier at some point and time in their career will experience guard duty. While on guard duty these soldiers are charged with protecting the other soldiers inside the wire. They must have a watchful eye and let no one inside the wire that has no business being there. As Christians the Bible tells us that sin lies at the door desiring to have us. When we pull guard duty over our spirit we are alert to temptations of the enemy. We don’t fall for his tricks. We’re prayerful and have a spirit of repentance. However, when we let our guard down sin pounces on us and we find ourselves wrapped up and tied up sin. On the battle field we always tell the soldiers “STAY ALERT STAY ALIVE”. That rings true today. On this Christian battlefield we need to stay alert so that we don’t fall into divers temptations.

Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Self-Control

Good morning today is the 12th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is SELF-CONTROL

As Christians we should never have the testimony ” the devil made me do it”. We know right from wrong. We know how to control our own behavior. The more we spend time with God by being in the Word, by praying and fasting; the easier it is for us to want to do right and please the Lord. Stop letting sin have control in your life. We can control our mouths by thinking before we speak. We can control this flesh by putting it under the subjection of God. If we’re single, no sex with anyone. If we’re married, only sex with our spouse. Living saved isn’t hard. We just make excuses to justify our sins and to make ourselves feel good; but if we sow to flesh then we will reap of the flesh, if we sow to the spirit then we will reap of the spirit.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Integrity

As Christians when our word means nothing we’ve lost our witness. Honesty is everything whether you’re saved or not. God loves integrity so much he said a liar won’t even tarry in his sight. In other words, he don’t even want you in his face if you’re not going to be truthful. When we are honest we will never have to chase down a lie.

Proverbs 19:1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

LONGSUFFERING

Good morning today is the 10th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is LONGSUFFERING

Many of us don’t mind helping other people out. We figure at some point in life we all need a helping hand. Some of us have had to help the same person on more than one occasion and we have become frustrated in doing so. It’s one thing to help someone out, it’s a total different thing to keep helping the same person out with the same thing. This is where longsuffering comes in. We think once we help someone they should get it, they should know their behavior has to change and they should know we won’t always be here to pick up the slack. So we want to give up on them and call them a lost cause. But hold on. We did the exact same thing to God. We repeated the same behavior over and over again and he said I still love you, I’m still not going to give up on you because it’s not my will that none shall perish. So, before we give up on anyone remember God didn’t give up on us.

Psalms 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Trials

In this life we are sure to face trials and tribulations. When the trials of life come upon us that’s not the time to start murmuring and complaining. It’s not the time to start having a pity-party. Actually, it’s a time to count it all joy.

God knows what he’s placed inside of you and he knows just how much you can handle. So whenever you find yourself in a trial ask the Lord to show you what he’s placed inside of you. Trials come to teach us life’s lessons and God is the instructor. Contrary to popular belief it’s alright to ask God questions. It’s alright to ask God what is it he wants you to learn from this trial. It’s alright to ask God what is he trying to purge out of you during this trial.

James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Trust

Many of us like to be in control therefore, it’s hard for us to trust God in every area of our lives. Our need to be in control hinders God from flowing freely in our lives. How many blessings have we forfeited because we had to be in control? How many times does God say I got this and our actions say; Lord you can sit this one out because I’m in control?

None of us can really understand the mind of God because his ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are not our thoughts. God wants to move freely in us and through us. However, we have to let go of our control, lay down our will and let his will be done. Whenever we’re ready to relinquish control, God is ready to move.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
