Another Year

I praise God for allowing me to see my 44th birthday. Just seven years ago I had heart surgery and I couldn’t see this far up the road. I know God as a healer, deliverer, way-maker, miracle worker and friend. I could go on and on because he’s much more than this. I’ve had some good days and I’ve had some bad days. All of my good days outweigh my bad days so I won’t complain.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Embrace Being Single

Many people think being single is a bad thing and it’s not. Being single allows you to explore who you really are and it allows you to get closer to God. All of your friends may be married or getting married, and this is a time of rejoicing for them. So be happy for them and still celebrate the place you’re in.

When you’re single you don’t have any relationship drama. You’re not trying to be private-eye. You fix yourself up for you. You spend your money the way you want to. You don’t have to confer with another person about decisions you want to make. This is all a plus if you ask me.

Instead of complaining about being single, or trying to rush into a relationship so that everyone can stop asking you; when are you getting married. Ask yourself what is the reason I want to be in a relationship, why do I want to get married. If you can honestly answer those questions without lust being a factor then go for it. If it’s just to have sex, to marry rather than burn; then ask yourself what are you going to do in the relationship once the thrill is gone.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Don’t Hide Your Talents

God doesn’t make any mistakes. The gifts and talents he’s giving to you are uniquely designed just for you. Don’t hide your talent because it doesn’t get you noticed like other people’s talents. Don’t hide your talent because you only have one and someone has multiple. Use the talent that God gave you and multiply it. Don’t be called a wicked servant because you failed to utilize what God gave you.

Longsuffering

Many times we don’t mind helping a person. However, we have a problem with longsuffering with that individual. We feel once we’ve prayed for them and met their physical need they should be alright. We never stop and think how much God King-suffers with us. We never stop and think that we may be ok in this area but we need a lot of help in another area. Let’s not be so quick to give up on each other.

When You Give God The Wrong Response

When you give God the wrong response please expect calamity to befall you. There is no such thing as disobeying God and living a peaceful life. When we read Jonah 1:1-3 We see where God gave him clear instructions and Jonah went in the other direction trying to leave the presence of God. God is all seeing so we are not getting away with anything. Let’s think twice before we decide to be disobedient. It’s just not worth it.

Be Kind

Let’s start being kind to one another. We really don’t know what the other person is going through. With depression, oppression, suicide, and homicide so prevalent in our society; we could all use some kindness. You never know, your smile could make someone hold on just one more day. Your kindness could turn a raging person into a level-headed person and avert a tragedy. Kindness doesn’t cost a thing. It’s when we’re not kind to one another we pay the price for the aftermath.

Hold On

I know that pressure may be mounting and you may feel like God is not concerned about you. That’s a trick of the enemy. Hold on to God’s unchanging hand. He has not forgotten about you. Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Your due season is coming!

God Is Able

No matter what you’re going through God is able to do anything but fail. Trust in the Lord no matter what it looks like. Before consulting your friends and family members on what you should do in your situation, consult God.

Be Creative

The government has shutdown and no doubt it has affected many of us. With all the uncertainty that surrounds us, we still have many things to be thankful for. God has given us many gifts and talents and the ability to create wealth. So instead of complaining about the shutdown, stir up the gifts that God has given you and see what happens. If you’re a cook and you have friends that hate to cook, tell them your menu and let them know you can cook for their family for a fee, they will either buy it from you or go get fast food. If you’re an organizer and a cleaner and you know people who hate to clean and organize their house, offer your services for a fee. No one needs to go hungry during this shutdown. Eventually, the government will re-open but in the meantime are using what’s in your hand to get what you need. This is the prime opportunity to thank God for every skill he has given you, by using them to the fullest. God said he will never leave you nor forsake you, nor have his seed begging bread.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Trusting In Jesus vs. Having other options

If we trust in Jesus are we supposed to have other options just in case he doesn’t come through? James 1:8 says; a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. When we place all of our trust in Jesus there is no other options. If he doesn’t come through like we want him to, then whatever it is we wanted was not for us to have at that time.
