I Know What The Lord Can Do

Good morning. When you know what God has done for you there’s no way you will allow someone to persuade you otherwise. The Old Saints used to sing a song; You Can’t Make Me Doubt Him, I Know Too Much About Him. No matter the giants we face in our lives they’re nothing compared to the God we serve. No one can trust God for us, we have to trust God for ourselves. When storms arise in our lives we have to be like David and recount the times when God delivered us out of much worse and know if he did back then he’ll do it again.

1 Samuel 17:34-37
But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! The LORD who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the LORD be with you!”

Don’t Allow Trials To Change Your Name

Good morning. We should never allow trials and tribulations to change our name; no matter how much of an emotional toll they take on us and no matter how much we’ve lost. If God hasn’t changed our name neither should we. For when God changes a person name it’s either to elevate that person or demote that person. God elevated Abram, you’re no longer Abram you’re Abraham the father of many nations. God elevated Jacob, you’re no longer trickster, you’re Israel. God demoted Lucifer, you’re no longer Lucifer the bright and morning star, you’re Satan, the deceiver. We must be careful how we respond to storms because when we start doing things that God never gave us permission to do we can cause damage to ourselves and those around us.

Ruth 1:19-21
So the two of them continued on their journey. When they came to Bethlehem, the entire town was excited by their arrival. “Is it really Naomi?” the women asked. “Don’t call me Naomi,” she responded. “Instead, call me Mara, for the Almighty has made life very bitter for me. I went away full, but the LORD has brought me home empty. Why call me Naomi when the LORD has caused me to suffer and the Almighty has sent such tragedy upon me?”

Be Careful How You Treat The Poor

Good morning. What is it about poor people we don’t like? Laws are harsher for poor people. Policy’s by our governments excludes poor people and make it harder for them to acquire services. The healthcare system don’t like treating poor people because they can’t pay. Truth be told it’s too expensive to be poor. Nonetheless, we can’t turn our backs on the poor. We cannot overlook and act like they don’t exist. No matter how little we have, we have enough to help someone else. It’s only by the grace of God that we are not poor. It’s only by his grace and mercy that we have a variety of food to eat, a closet full of clothes to wear, vehicles to drive, a roof over our head, and a bank account. Let’s stop shunning the poor and help them out because God can turn the tables really quick; we can have everything today and be in the soup-line tomorrow. What a difference a day makes.

Proverbs 21:13
Those who shut their ears to the cries of the poor will be ignored in their own time of need.

Shortcuts Are Not The Way

Good morning. Taking shortcuts in life is not always the best thing to do. Shortcuts can be costly and lead us to poverty and sometimes we may not be able to recover from it. When we sit and plan we can count up the cost. Incorporating God in our plans and following his direction will keep us from headaches and asking for handouts down the road.

Proverbs 21:5
Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.

Praying And Singing Amidst Adversity

Good morning. No matter what situation we find ourselves in we can always pray and sing a song of praise. Whether we’re being persecuted for being Christians, lied on for speaking the truth, hated by family members, co-workers, and friends; we cannot allow their behavior towards us to make us lose our joy. The enemy can do no more or no less to us than what God allows him to. So when we find ourselves in adverse situations we need to start praying and we should always have a song of praise on our lips.

Acts 16:25
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Don’t Seek Praise From People

Good morning. Do you ever get the big-head when someone compliments you? Do you ever do things just so people will compliment you? Did you know you were being tested by the praise people give you? We shouldn’t seek praise from people. Our praise belongs to the Lord. It’s in him that we live, move, and have our being.

Proverbs 27:21
Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but a person is tested by being praised.

Let God Handle It

Good morning. When people do us wrong we never have to worry about getting revenge. All we have to do is treat them right and hand the situation over to the Lord. This will show others that we are honorable. God knows just how to repay people that harm his children and he does a far better job at it than we do. His revenge will cause people to repent, our revenge will bring about more anger.

Romans 12:17
Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.

There’s Joy In The Presence Of The Lord

Good morning. If we really want joy we can find it in the presence of the Lord. When we pray we’re in his presence. When we worship we’re in his presence. When we praise we’re in his presence. If you find yourself with no happiness and joy in your life then check your relationship with the Lord. See where you stopped spending time with him, repent and get back in his presence. The best life to live is a life in Christ.

Psalms 16:11
You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Obey The Word And Be Blessed

Good morning. When we hearken to the voice of God and obey Him completely his blessings will overtake us. Think about that for a minute. That means before we can fully thank him and praise him for one blessing here comes another and while we’re thanking and praising him for that blessing here comes another and so on. I know we like to say when praises go up blessings come down, but you will never find that phrase in the Bible. God has already given us the answer to being blessed; it’s to hearken to his voice and total obedience.

Deuteronomy 28:1-2
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

What Type Of Worker Are You

Good morning. When we work we should work as if we’re working for the Lord. Even when things are going crazy on the job we need to tell ourselves; it’s not about the boss or my co-workers it’s about the Lord. We should be able to be trusted on our jobs even when no one is looking. No one should be able to find fault in us no matter how much dirt they try to dig up on us. We should always remain faithful, available and teachable to the Lord.

Daniel 6:3-4
Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire. Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.
