When People Think They Know You

People may have heard of you, seen you somewhere before, know some of your mutal friends, go to your church, live in your neighborhood,  or work in your office, etc… This doesn’t mean that they know you. However, they think they know you, so they think they can talk to you or about you any kind of way. They think they know your character. They think they can describe what type of person you are. You have absolutely no type of relationship with them. You don’t even consider them as acquaintances. Yet, they speak of you as if ya’ll are homies from Wyoming.

Sadly, people act like this when it comes to Jesus. They have no relationship with him, they spend no time with him, they don’t know what his word says, and yet they’re always talking about him any kind of way. They heard of him, but they don’t know him. They think they know how God should respond in every situation that happens in the world. So, they say stuff like; if God is so loving, why did he let this happen. Or, some of them say; why is there so much war and fighting in the world. If they knew God and they knew his word, then they would know that his word says; there will be wars and rumors of wars and nations will rise against other nations, and kingdoms against other kingdoms. If they knew God, they would know his ways are not like our ways or his thoughts like our thoughts.

Bottom line, before you put your mouth on somebody, know them. If you’ve heard something about them, before you speak out of turn, go asked them yourselves. If you don’t know them but want to get to know them, build a relationship with them. Lastly, God is an open book, everything you want to know about him is in the bible. Read it, and stop saying foolish things when it comes to him.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Goodness Of The Lord

When all hell is breaking loose in our lives, it’s good to reflect on the goodness of the Lord. When we reflect on God’s goodness and began to thank him for what he’s already done; it makes our present problems seem small. When we reflect on the goodness of the Lord in the midst of our problems, we confuse the enemy. Because, it’s hard to reflect on the goodness of God and not start praising and worshipping him. When we think how it could have been the other way, but God! When we think of how we were on our way to hell, but God! When we think of how some of our friends are dead, buried in their graves, and yet we are still alive but by the grace of God. That’s enough right there to shout.

The bible says; oh taste and see that the Lord is good. He’s sweeter than the honey on the honeycomb. Can’t nobody do us like Jesus. Jesus will do what your mama won’t or can’t do. Jesus will be there when your father forsakes you. Jesus will stick closer than a brother. He’s a friend to the friendless and mother to the motherless. Somebody else knows him as a lawyer, they had some charges and when they went to court, Jesus dropped the charges. Somebody knows him as a healer, and when the doctors did all they could do, Jesus said; step aside, let me show you what medicine can’t do but what I can do. Somebody knows him as a provider. When they didn’t know how they were going to eat, get to work, pay that bill; God provided. He let them find five dollars, had someone buy their monthly groceries, had someone to have an appointment by their job at the same time they had to be to work. Oh! When we think of the goodness of the Lord, our souls should rejoice.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Think Before You Speak

Do you say anything to anybody because you can? Do you care about the damage you do with your tongue? Do you ever think before you speak?

We need to think about what we are going to say instead of just blurting stuff out. We should think; is what I’m about to say going to edify or bring down? If it’s going to edify then say it, but of it’s going to bring down and criticize, ostracize, belittle or cause someone to stumble then we should be quiet.

Thinking before we speak will stop a lot of unnecessary apologies and stop letting people see just how foolish we are.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

A Premeditated Praise

How many of us think about the praise were going to give God? Do we recount it over and over in our minds?

When something is premeditated it is thought out carefully. A plan is put into action to see it come to pass.

Well when I look back over my life and I think things over I began to plan out my praise. My plan is quite simple, in fact it will get me caught. See every time I here the name Jesus I’m going to praise him, no matter where I’m at, morning, noon or night.

Every time I think about how it could have been me, I’m going to praise him.

Every time the phone rings and it’s not the coroner on the other end saying we need you to come and identify a body, I’m going to praise him.

When you’re up on charges for something that was premeditated you’re liable to be found guilty. Now when you premeditate something, your sentence is much harder because they say you thought long and hard about what you were going to do

Well the prosecutor will try to give you a plea deal before you go before a judge, but in this case don’t take the plea. Don’t care if you’re found guilty. This is one sentence you will want to serve.

I know you’re saying you get the death penalty for premeditation. Well I’m here to tell you to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord.

Are you willing to be found guilty of a premeditated praise or are you going to take the plea deal?

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

This Is A Test

When we were in school the teacher would say, clear your desk and take out two pencils. You are about to take a test, this test is timed once the time runs out I will ask you to put your pencils down and turn your test in. If you have any questions about the test please ask the teacher and don’t disturb anyone around you. You are not allowed to look on anyone’s paper, keep your eyes on your own paper. Are there any questions?

Well God has all of us on a timed test. We can’t look at anyone else’s test because they have a different version. However; we can ask him all the questions we need too. The good thing about the test is that it’s open book.

Now as you know, open book test sometimes are harder but you do get through them. Hopefully you like to read because if you don’t it’s going to take you forever. God is so good, he even gives us different versions of the book so that we can understand it on our level.

Lastly, if for some reason you happen to fail the test, no worries he has a retest for you. You don’t even have to sign up for it, he will automatically sign you up. Now once the final test of life is given and your time is up he’s either going to say; Well done thy good and faithful servant or Depart from me ye workers of iniquity for I never knew you.

Best wishes on your test.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Re-gifting God

Have you ever received a gift that you didn’t like or want? Or perhaps, you just didn’t have a use for it. Instead of being rude and saying that you didn’t want it or like it, you decided that you would put it in another box and wrap it pretty to give to someone else. This is called re-gifting.

It cost you nothing and maybe you made someone else happy with something you didn’t want.

See in the bible many people didn’t want the gift that God presented to them so he was re-gifted to the Gentiles and they seized the opportunity.

Today many of us are re-gifting God because we don’t want to abide by his ways. We feel we have no use for him right now since nothing too bad has happened lately so we put him in a box, make it look pretty and give it to someone else.

We don’t care that the gift cost more than we could ever afford, and that careful thought went into this gift, and since we didn’t pay for it we have no problem letting it go.

The next time God offers himself to you as a gift think twice before you just give him away.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
