Please Don’t Say

Please don’t say you can’t afford to pay your tithes, when you stay in the mall and your hair and nails are always done.
Please don’t say ain’t no jobs out here, when you haven’t applied for any job.
Please don’t say you can’t get ahead because the man is keeping you back, when God said he gives you the ability to create wealth.
Please don’t say you are the way you are because society has made you that way, when God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Please don’t blame the predicament you’re in on nobody else, when God says he’s a very present help in the time of trouble.
Please don’t say you’ve never had an opportunity to succeed in life, when the bible says time and chance happens to us all.
Please don’t say you haven’t been blessed, when you still have breath in your body to complain about what you don’t have.

If you have to say something, say my God is an awesome God.
Say can’t nobody do me like Jesus.
Say if it had not been for the Lord on my side.
Say God will make a way out of no way.
Say he’s a healer.
Say he’s a deliverer.
Say he’ll show up on time.
Say he’s a lawyer when the public defender wasn’t doing his job.
Say he gave you favor.

Whatever you say, let if be positive, let it be edifying and most of all, let it glorify God.

Just Listen

Sometimes when people are talking to you and pouring their heart out to you, they just want you to listen. They don’t want any feedback, they don’t want to know what you would do if you were in their situation, they just want you to listen.

We are so quick to give advice to the point we feel like being silent is awkward. Quite frankly, I like not having to answer people back all the time. I don’t mind being a sounding board for them, because I’d rather they get all of their anger and emotions out with me; than go do something stupid. Also, people don’t always need a word either. Look at the woman that was caught in adultery. Jesus just listened and was writing on the ground, he didn’t get deep with her, he didn’t prophesy to her, he just asked her a question and told her to keep it moving and stop sinning.

There will be times when you will have to speak but you need to figure out when that time is. And, when you begin to speak, don’t start accusing the person or start saying stupid stuff. In other words, don’t be like Job friends, they were quiet for seven days and on the eighth day they began to talk and couldn’t shut up.

Listening is a skill that many of us don’t have. We hear but we don’t listen. So today, when someone begins to tell you about their situation; be quiet, let them say everything and if they ask for your opinion then say something. If they don’t then be quiet.

Speak Lord

When we pray; speak to me Lord, how do we look for him to speak? Are we missing the voice of God because we think we know how he’s going to answer us?

I’ve learned to look for God through everything. The birds, the fowl of the air, children, tv, work, church, etc… We serve a multidimensional God, so why do we expect him to show up in one way and the same way all the time.

The next time you say; speak to me Lord, start listening for his voice. He doesn’t always come through prophets. He comes through at anywhere, anytime and anyplace.

No Comment

When people ask you something spiritual and you don’t know the answer, you don’t have to comment.

None of us know everything about God and how he chooses to work. We can do more damage to people by giving them the wrong answer concerning the things of God, than we can do if we just have no comment.

No comment, can stop you from looking like a fool. It can also stop you from having to answer to God for lying. And, when God demands an answer from you; no comment, will not work.

So, before you have to give an account to God for commenting on something you have no business or qualifications to comment on; say no comment and be quiet.

Think Before You Speak

Do you say anything to anybody because you can? Do you care about the damage you do with your tongue? Do you ever think before you speak?

We need to think about what we are going to say instead of just blurting stuff out. We should think; is what I’m about to say going to edify or bring down? If it’s going to edify then say it, but of it’s going to bring down and criticize, ostracize, belittle or cause someone to stumble then we should be quiet.

Thinking before we speak will stop a lot of unnecessary apologies and stop letting people see just how foolish we are.

Say What You Need To Say

Stop beating around the bush with people and stop sugar coating what it is you need to say.

In today’s society people want you to be real with them. The truth may hurt but it’s out in the open.

Remember you are not Jesus so you don’t have to speak in parables. Let your yea be yea and your nay be nay.

Don’t Tell Anyone

Many times when Jesus performed a miracle in someone’s life he told them, see to it that you tell no one. That same person wouldn’t be able to hold their peace and began telling everybody.

Why is it when God blesses us we tell everyone but when he chastises us we tell no one?

Some blessings we can’t even tell people about because everyone will not be happy for us. Then there are some blessings that we be like for real God you just blessed me and you want me to keep silent, you know I can’t do that!

However big or small the blessing is, be thankful for it, and if God tells you not to say a word then don’t because he has a purpose for you not sharing.

So I guess it’s time for us to learn how to be slow to speak and quick to hear.

Scary Christians

Have you noticed the world wants us to be scary Christians? Have you also noticed some Christians choose to be scary Christians or closet Christians?

The world doesn’t want us to stand on the word of God or challenge them when they make these abominable laws or comments. We are supposed to shut up and be quiet. The world will try to say we don’t show love when we speak out against something or that Jesus wouldn’t say that or speak out because he’s a loving God.

Well the world is right about Jesus being a loving God and dead wrong about him not speaking out. He said he is the way, the truth, and the life no one comes to the Father but through the Son.

Don’t let the world guilt trip you into becoming a scary Christian. Before you got saved you were all big and bad and now that you are saved you want to tuck your head in between your legs and run. No way! The next time the world wants to make you scared tell them THE KINGDOM SUFFERETH VIOLENCE AND THE VIOLENT TAKE IT BY FORCE.

Open Your Mouth

Have you ever been going through something but you wouldn’t tell anyone? You thought that they were mind readers and should have known what you were experiencing. You found yourself getting mad at them because they didn’t come to your rescue.

Did you ever think that not everyone has the spirit of discernment and now you have found out that a closed mouth don’t get fed?

Even Jesus told us to ask and it shall be given. So if we have to open our mouth and ask him what makes us think we don’t have to ask for help from other human beings.

If pride is keeping you from opening your mouth and your family is hungry, tell them to get full off your pride.

If pride is keeping you from opening your mouth and you are about to be homeless, tell yourself pride will be my shelter.

There are times when you should be quiet but then there are times when you need to open your mouth.
