Do You Remember

Do you remember your first encounter with God? You know the moment you realized he saved your soul from a burning hell. Do you remember how you couldn’t explain the felling, but you wanted everyone to feel what you felt? Remember how you had so much zeal for Christ, that you always prayed and read the bible.

Isn’t it strange, that when we first got saved we were excited and we always had time for God. Now that we’ve been saved a minute, we just can’t find time to pray or read the bible. Church service holds too long. We are really not feeling the pastor anymore, and don’t let me get started on the people in the church.

Just like Paul asked the Galatians, oh foolish Galatians who have bewitched you? I ask the same question. Who foolish Christians who have bewitched us, into thinking that we have arrived? Who or what has made us think that we are better than the people in the church? What makes us think that we don’t have time to spend all day in church, knowing at any given moment all of us are apt to sin. Where in the bible does it say you will always agree with your pastor or like the decisions he or she makes?

Before this year is out, we need to ask God to take us back to where we first believed. Take us back to where we were obedient to his word. Take us back to where we were not looking at everybody in the church, because we were to busy making sure our soul was right. Take us back to where we reverenced the pastor and had a reverential fear of the Lord.

God help us to remember, then Lord help us to get back on track.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Don’t Throw It In My Face

Often times we do things for other people but then we have to make sure that they know it.

We may have helped them out of a bad situation, or with some food, or money, etc…

Next thing you know, we are holding them hostage with what we’ve done for them. We are quick to remind them that if we were not there when times were hard for them they wouldn’t have made it. We tend to do this to our children, spouses, and let’s not forget our fellow church members.

Have we ever stopped to think that God doesn’t throw anything in our face but a mirror?

When he delivered us did he ever throw in our faces that we were wretches undone?

When he healed our bodies did he ever throw in our faces that he could have let us die?

When he died on the cross did he ever throw in our faces that we were on our way to a burning hell? No! He said Father forgive them for they know not what they do.

So on today if you are going to do something for somebody, do it, then let it go. Don’t throw it in their face because it could be you on the receiving end.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
