Let Your Hair Down

Many people in the church feel as though they can’t let their hair down, have fun, laugh or relax because they have a title. It’s like they got a their title and lost their sense of humor.

Christians have to learn to have a balanced life. There’s a time to be serious then there’s a time to be you. My kids don’t need Elder Brown they need momma. Before I was Elder Brown I was a person who laughed, cried, had fun and could reach the people. Now that I’m Elder Brown, I’m still a person, I still laugh, I still cry, I still have fun and I still am accessible to the people.

All too often we let our titles change us , and we begin to think we are better than what we ought to think. My constant prayer is Lord never let me get the big head. I’m not asking you to sin, but I am asking you to be human again.

Besides, who would ever want to serve your God, if they had to stop being who they are. Who wants to walk around stuck-up all day because of their title? Get over your titles and let your hair down.

Get Over It

Why do we act like everyone is going to treat us like a past family member, ex-boyfriend/girlfriend or ex-spouse treated us? Whatever happened in your past, get over it.

I was talking to someone and they told me they thought I was doing them like someone else did them three years ago because they couldn’t get in touch with me. My first thoughts were; are you kidding me! I don’t know what was going on in your life at that time. I had to explain to them, that my day starts very early in the morning and I don’t have time to just talk on the phone.

How crazy is it for us to hold on to nonsense for years, and then try to make everyone feel sympathetic towards us because we’re still wearing our feelings on our sleeve. In today’s society, many people don’t have the time or the energy to deal with other people’s past issues and hurts that have been lingering for years.

All I can say is, get over it. The time has passed. Life has continued to move forward. What does is matter now if they’ve never apologized to you. It didn’t kill you. Live your life, love yourself and thank God you survived to see another day.

Laugh

Life is too short to always be serious; we have to learn how to laugh and enjoy the moment.

I know we all have situations going on in our lives and they will always be there, but learn how to laugh in the midst of whatever you’re going through.

We serve a God that has a sense of humor. For instance, a blind man wanted to see, God used spit to make him see. He allowed the children of Israel to wonder for 40yrs just to walk a few blocks. I know some of you are saying that’s nothing to laugh about, well you’ve missed the point.

Find something to laugh about even if it’s at yourself. Just don’t laugh at the expense of hurting someone else.

Hard To Love People

Do you know someone that’s hard to love? No matter how nice you try to be they always have something negative to say. Sometimes you may find yourself going above and beyond to show that you love and care for this person. You prefer to love them from afar or just not deal with them.

Well have you ever thought that you were hard to love? That no matter what goes on you always have something negative to say. Have you noticed anyone going above and beyond to show you that they love you and care for you?

Well imagine this! At one point we were hard to love but Jesus went above and beyond to show us that He loves us and cares for us.

No matter how negative we were, He said I love you.
No matter how much we complained, He said I know the plans I have for you.
No matter how much we resist Him, He said behold I stand at the door and knock.
No matter how much we try to fight, He said why kick against the prick
No matter how much sin we’ve committed, He said it’s not my will that none should perish.

So before you decide to completely shut that person off because they are hard to love, think back when God could have cut you off but instead said I come that you might have life and that more abundantly.
