Everyone has something or someone that is important to them. Sometimes we mistreat or misuse those important people or things; or, we just neglect them.
I travel all over the world and every time I travel, I leave behind my kids and my grandson. These are the most important people in my life. I do my best to spend as much time with them as possible but let’s face it, they have lives of their own. Besides, they are so use to me leaving that when I’m home for a long period of time they want to to know if I still have a job.
My relationship with Jesus is also important to me. I carry our relationship wherever I go in the world. I don’t leave Jesus at home and tell him I’ll see you when I get back or I’ll FaceTime you like I do my kids. No! I let my light shine and I ask God to allow me to be a blessing to others.
Christians have it so backwards. We think we are suppose to only let our light shine in church, and only help out those that go to church or those people we know. In fact, we should look for someone that we don’t know on purpose and bless them.
Blessing someone is not always monetary; it can be spending time, saying a comforting word, watching someone’s kids who’s a stay at home parent just so they can gain their sanity back. That’s what’s important.
At least, that’s what’s important to me. Find out what’s important to you and do it.
Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
