We live in a culture where everyone wants something for nothing. No one wants to pay full price for anything. Everywhere we go, we hear someone saying; hook me up. After all who doesn’t like a great deal. The downside to this mentality is, we go to God with a hook me up attitude. And, we get mad when he makes us pay full price for our blessings, for our anointing, and for the call that’s on our life.
Jesus told his disciples some things only come through fasting and prayer. Now that sounds simple. But, try fasting for three days and on the second day God tells you to go for 21 days, and then he stretches it out to 40 days. God knows it will be hard for us, but he also knows that the anointing he’s placed on our lives is expensive. And, he also knows that once we pay full price for it, we won’t allow anyone to cheapen it by given them the hookup. He knows we won’t take our calling for granted once we’ve been through hell and high water. He knows we will cherish the blessing, because many of us thought we were not worthy in the first place.
So as you can see, getting the hookup is not always the best option. Sometimes we have to be willing to pay full price. For we get what we pay for.
Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
