Fake Friends & Real Enemies

Psalm 55:12-14 The Message (MSG) says; This isn’t the neighborhood bully mocking me—I could take that. This isn’t a foreign devil spitting invective—I could tune that out. It’s you! We grew up together! You! My best friend! Those long hours of leisure as we walked arm in arm, God a third party to our conversation. Many of us are dealing with fake friends and real enemies and it hurts because the person that hurt us isn’t someone we just met. If we be honest with ourselves, we really want hurt, harm, and danger to come upon them, but we’re too scared to pray that prayer. Before we become so self-righteous, we need to see if we are the fake friend, or the real enemy. Sometimes it’s not the other person, it’s us. Sometimes, we are the one’s that people want to pray hurt, harm, and danger on, because we ran our mouths too much, or became disrespectful in some way. Have you ever realized that fake friends are meant to distract you and enemies are meant to draw you closer to God? When dealing with something like this, you need to seek God and ask him for clarity in the situation. When God answers you, don’t tune him out if he reveals that you are the fake friend or the real enemy.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Friends

How many people do you really consider to be your friend? Do you have a criteria that they must meet before you call them friend? Do your friends know how to get you in the presence of God when you can’t get to him for yourself?

We really need to check who we call our friends. Everybody that we talk to are not our friends. Everybody in the church are not our friends. A true friend is someone that’s not afraid to tell you the truth. A true friend will stick by your side no matter what. A true friend won’t become a ghost in your hour of need.

So, I ask you again, how many friends do you really have? Jesus said I no longer call you servant, I call you friend. Are you the same type of friend to Jesus as he is to you? Or do you flake out when Jesus calls on you?

Friends, that’s a mouthful to say.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

When You Try To Help

Never assume because someone asks for your help, that they are going to like the help that you give them. And, when they express how much they don’t like your help, don’t get upset.

Take solace in the fact that you lent a helping hand and that you did the best you could do. Next time they won’t call on you, they will figure it out for themselves.

Make sure you don’t fall out of pocket either because they were not pleased with your work. Don’t let your friendships and your relationships deteriorate, because the job wasn’t to their liking. Talk about the situation, ask for forgiveness and move forward.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
