I’m Right Here

Yesterday I took my children mountain bike riding. As we were going up the hill we had to push hard and at times we had to get off the bikes and walk them up the hill.

On the way down the hill my youngest daughter became scared because gravity was pulling us down. I told her don’t pedal just pump the breaks.

As we continued down the hill I was right beside her and she began to call out mommy in a frantic voice. I said I’m here, I’m not leaving you on this hill. My son kept saying come on don’t be scared, but my daughter just kept crying out mommy, mommy, mommy. No matter how many times I told her I wasn’t going to leave her that didn’t stop her from not trusting that I would get her safely down the hill. It took us a while to get off that hill because of her doubt, fear and unbelief but once we got down she tried to speed off and leave me.

How many of us are like my daughter? We cry out to God and he says I’m here, I’m not going anywhere; however, we don’t trust him to get us out of every situation. Sometimes when we are going through things and it feels like we are falling we have to pump the breaks and listen to God’s voice coasting us out of the situation. It may take a while but God is true to his word. Once God delivers you, don’t be like my daughter and try to speed off and leave God now that you have come through your trial because another one is just around the corner.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

What Do You Do

What do you do when life throws you a curve ball and the situation is so bad that you can’t even pray?

What do you do when the child you’ve raised won’t talk to you or you get a phone call saying their dead?

What do you do when you continue to get passed over for promotion and you know you’re qualified?

What do you do when reading the word, going to church, and hanging around Christians make you sick?

You lean on God and trust in God as if your very life depended on it because in actuality it does. Life has a way of letting us know just how fragile and vulnerable we are. It can rip the very core of our faith and yes it can happen to the best of us.

So today, let’s purpose in our hearts and minds that we will cast all of our cares on The Lord, no matter how small or big.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
