Now That Christmas Is Over

Now that Christmas has come and gone, are we going back to being Scrooge ? Are we going back to being stingy and forgetting the gift of God? Do we realize that Jesus is the gift that keeps on giving?

Because Christmas has come and gone, doesn’t mean that people are still not in need. It doesn’t mean that people don’t need an angel to come see about them. It doesn’t mean that we forget about them until next year this time. We shouldn’t look to do good deeds just twice a year, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We should look to please God everyday. And, doing it unto the least of them is doing it unto God.

What will you do now that Christmas is over?

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

It’s Not Your Birthday

Today my daughter kept asking me what am I getting her for her birthday. I told her, we haven’t even made it to Thanksgiving and Christmas yet. Her birthday is in January. She said mom, in her voice that she uses when she’s irritated.

Finally, I said; you want me to get you something for Christmas and your birthday. I explained to her that Christmas is Jesus’ birthday, and how would it look if I gave you a present on somebody else’s birthday. Do you think Jesus would be ok with that? She was really irritated now, but I was trying to make a point.

All my daughter saw was that she could get gifts for Christmas and her birthday. She never realized that Christmas was Jesus’ birthday, but he never gets a present. We never get a cake and sing to him. We never say on Christmas Day, hey come to my house the parties going down for Jesus.

I just wanted to give her something to think about. And, to let her know because Christmas is coming doesn’t mean she’s getting gifts, she’s only guaranteed a present on her birthday.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
