Friends

Growing up we never heard of parents being their child’s friend, but nowadays thats all you hear. Many of us don’t agree with it. I certainly don’t believe in being friends with my children. We may laugh and joke, but by no means are we friends. I never give them the impression that we’re cool like that. Furthermore, we don’t hang together. We have family time and I support them at their events, and most of all; I tell them and show them that I love them.

Now that’s my way of doing things. But, Jesus way of doing things is quite different. His ways are not our ways, and his thoughts are not our thoughts. He is our spiritual father, yet he calls us friend. He hangs with us. If we party, he’s at the party. If we work, he’s at the job. He’s a friend that sticks closer than a brother. He’s a friend that knows all about us; the good and the bad. He always has our back even when we deserve to go down. The mere fact that he calls us friend, should make us respect our friendship even the more. We should guard it at all cost. We should have a ride or die attitude when it comes to our friend.

Sadly, many people do not value their friendship with Jesus. They don’t care if they stay friends or not. Once they get all they can from him, they no longer see any use to continue being friends. We should never have ulterior motives when it comes to any of our friends especially Jesus. Now we know Jesus is a true friend, but can we say the same for ourselves. Honestly, I can’t. There have been times that I hadn’t been much of a friend to Jesus. I treated him, like I treat my kids. Sometimes I would spend time with him but I would show him that we weren’t cool like that. And, yet he pursued our friendship. He didn’t go and talk about me. He just waited patiently until I came to my senses.

What a friend we have in Jesus.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I’m Called But I’m Crippled

When God calls you to do a work for him, he already knows what condition your life is in. He knows what cripples you. He knows all of your bad habits, all of your vices and yet he still calls you.

When you hear the call of God, don’t give him any excuses why he shouldn’t use you. He’s not looking to use anyone that’s perfect. When you read the bible you find that everyone he used was jacked up in one way or another. And, these very people became mighty in the Lord; although, they had issues that crippled them.

Think of it this way, you still go to church and you are crippled. You still go to work and you are crippled. You still hangout and you are crippled. So why can’t you be used by God and be crippled? It’s because you’ve allowed the enemy and church folk to tell you you’re not worthy and you believed them.

Walk in the calling that God called you to and don’t listen to what the people say.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

You’re Too Late

I went to get my eyebrows arched but when I got to the store 15 minutes before closing time, the lady said you’re too late. I thought to myself, wow, I’m too late for you to take my money.

When our time is done down here on earth and God calls our number; it will be too late to repent, too late to give our life to God, too late to build a relationship with him; it will just be too late.

God is no going to be concerned with where you are in life. When your name is called up yonder, you will have no choice but to answer.

So, before it’s too late; repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I Tried Calling

Have you ever tried calling someone in an emergency situation and their line was either busy or there phone was dead? Did you become frustrated and think to yourself their never available when you need them? Did you try calling someone else when you couldn’t get the person you really wanted only to find them unavailable too?

Does it ever dawn on us to call on Jesus first? His line is always open, he doesn’t have dropped calls and he doesn’t interrupt us when we talk to him.

Now he may not respond to us right away but he heard us. He may not give us the answer we are looking for, but he does give an answer. We may become frustrated with him when he put’s us on hold, but it would be a mistake for us to hang up on him.

How many times has God tried calling us and we were too busy or put him on hold? When was the last time we hung up on God?

God should never be the last person we call; he should always be first, and we shouldn’t always be the last one to answer his call, we should be first.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Did God Call You or Man Call You

Who called you to work in ministry? I don’t mean just preaching, I mean whatever you do in ministry. Did God speak to you directly or did someone tell you that you look like a preacher, usher, armor bearer, deacon, trustee etc….?

If man called you into ministry then you are in a dangerous position because you are ministering off of talent and eventually you will hurt yourself and the people you minister too.

If God called you into ministry then he will anoint you for the ministry so that you will be effective in saving souls for the kingdom.

If God called you then stick with it but if man called you please sit down before someone gets hurt.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Hold On

Have you ever called on God and He said hold on? And in the midst of you holding on you hung up because it was taking Him too long to get back to you. Did you say to yourself I don’t have time to wait? Therefore, since you didn’t have the patience to see what He had to say, you went out on your own and found yourself on a path of destruction.

When you hung up did you try calling Him back to see why he had you on hold that long or did you say, I’m not calling Him back because He likes to put you on hold too long.

Did being put on hold hurt you or help you? Did you realize when you hung up that time was going to pass anyway and that as long as you were on hold God would eventually return back to the call?

Don’t be so quick to hang up the next time God puts you hold, hold on and wait to see what he has to say, when He finally answers it will be worth the wait.

HOLD ON!

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing
