Count Your Blessings

When we begin to count our blessings, we don’t have time to complain. It’s hard to do both at the same time. Everyday God blesses us with something. He blesses us with life, health, strength, family, jobs, love, compassion, grace, forgiveness, etc… I could go on and on. Stop looking at your neighbors blessings and thank God for the blessings he’s bestowed upon you. When we look at other people blessings that’s when we start to complain and compare. We start to tell God how he failed when it came to blessing us. We start to tell God how ungrateful we really are, and right after we show our ungratefulness; we turn right around and ask God for something else. In counting our blessings, we show our gratitude to God and our respect for God. Lastly, when we count our blessings, we find out that we are more blessed than we thought.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Watch What You Say

Lately, I’ve been telling my kids they get on my nerves. Although this is true, it’s not always the best thing to tell them. They haven’t really done anything bad. It’s just when I’ve had a long day, I’m tired, I just want to cook dinner and go to bed; they start arguing or cutting each other down and that gets on my nerve.

Because I say things out of anger, I never really know what damage is being done. How will this affect them later on. What I should do is calm down, and later on when we’re laughing explain to them what I don’t like about their behavior towards each other. The bible says be angry but sin not. It also says; a soft answer turns away wrath. Well I have failed at both. However, I’m working on it.

I wonder how much do I get on God’s nerves. Some of you may say he’s all loving, but in the book of Revelations he told the church, that church folk make him sick, they make him want to vomit. My God! Our behavior makes God sick, so before I tell my kids they get on my nerves again, I’m going to draw them with love and kindness.

Besides, there’s some mother out there who wishes she had kids to get on her nerves. There’s some parent out there who had to bury their child. I’ve purposed in my heart I’m going to watch what I say to my kids no matter what. And, thank God he gave me a revelation of how I make him feel at times. The bible says blessings and cursing should not come out of the same mouth. We curse our own kids when we don’t speak life into them. We curse our own kids when we don’t speak the promises of God in them. Church is not the place for them to start hearing it, home is. My kids are my first ministry and if I fail at that, then what the purpose of the rest.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

After The Storm

When we were giving the all clear today after the storm was over, the sun was shining bright. So, I went bike riding.

As I began to ride my bike, the wind started blowing hard. I was literally riding my bike in slow motion. As I was riding, God began to speaking to me letting me know, because the sun is shining doesn’t mean that you don’t need me anymore. I let the wind blow just to show you, without me there is nothing you can do.

See, when the storm was coming numerous prayers were offered up to God. But, as soon as the storm was over; it was back to business as usual.

God shouldn’t have to bring a storm to get us to pray and he shouldn’t have to keep the wind blowing to keep us praying.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Being A Blessing To Someone Else

Often times when we pray we ask The Lord to bless us. Do we ever ask God fervently to help us be a blessing to someone else?

Sometimes being a blessing to someone else means that you have to go without, you have to forsake what you want to give to the other person.

Mind you, God is not just going to have you bless people that only like you. Sometimes he will tell you to be a blessing to someone who doesn’t even care for you.

It’s in these moments you really learn that obedience is better than sacrifice and you learn it’s not always about you but sometimes it’s about someone else.

Just as hard as we pray for God to bless us, let’s pray even harder that God helps us to be a blessing to someone else whether they like us or not.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Expect The Great

This is the year of release and I’m expecting God to do some great things in my life.

On June 1 I’m starting a 30day Daniel Fast.

I’m asking all of you to fast with me and then comment on this blog as to the great things that God has done and is yet doing naturally and spiritually.

This Fast takes obedience if we are going to expect the great.

Let’s get everything God has for us in this season.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Attitudes Before The Blessing

Today my daughter was blessed with her car but she almost didn’t get it because of her attitude.

Earlier in the week I told her I needed her today and to make sure she was available for me. I also needed her to babysit my grandson and she acted so ugly that I didn’t let her babysit and I was ready to pull the deal on the car.

That’s when God reminded me that I haven’t always been at my best before he blessed me and yet he decided to bless me anyway. So I let go of my frustration with my daughter and gave her the car, her graduation present.

How many of us have had an attitude prior to God blessing us? How many of us have acted so ungrateful and God chose to look beyond our faults and see our needs?

Let’s be careful of our attitudes for our blessing could be right around the corner and this time God could decide to hold off on blessing us. It’s his choice.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

His Hands Are Bigger Than Mine

Stop trying to hold things in your hands, Gods hands are much bigger and better. His hands have a way of making things alright no matter how detrimental the situation looks.

In my hands my child is just nurtured but in Gods hands my child is delivered.

In my hands debt is paid monthly but in Gods hands I’m debt free.

In my hands money just pays for things and is put into the offering tray at church but in Gods hands it rebukes the devour for my sake.

In my hands the situation seems to be just enough but in Gods hands the situation provides more than enough.

So take everything out of your hands today and place it in Gods hands and watch Him work miracles.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
