When You Don’t Want What You Begged God For

Have you ever begged God for something? You just had to have it and you became consumed with this thing or person, and although God knew what was best for you, he allowed you to have that very thing or person. Now that you have what you’ve begged God, do you  for you he said no?

You begged for that job, now you hate waking up and going to it every day. You hate your boss, you can’t stand your co-workers and you constantly complain about the pay. You begged for that man or that woman and now you’re homicidal because you can’t trust them. You’re up all day and night wondering what they are doing, praying that you catch them messing up. You’ve become border line psychotic thinking of ways to get them back for hurting you. You begged for that car when you really needed a house, and now you’re robbing Peter to pay Paul to keep up the payments. Oh, how you wish you didn’t have to deal with these things or these people.

We say we trust God, but when God rules out of our favor we begin to beg him for things that mean us no good. At the time we can’t see it, but God knows all. So, it is in those times that God will give us a very expensive lesson that none of us are really ready, willing, or can afford to pay. Then our prayers become; Lord if you get me out of this job, out of this relationship, out of these payments, I will never go back. So, now we’re lying to God, because as soon as he gets us out, we go right back into a similar or sometimes the same situation.

Will God get us out of what we begged for? Yes, but in his time. Meanwhile, we have to learn to take God at his word and accept the answers that we don’t like.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Pray For Me

When people ask you to pray for them, do you really pray for them? Do you tell them, I’ll pray for you and keep it moving? Do you have good intentions on praying for them but get side tracked in the process and forget?

Now when people ask me to pray for them, I stop what I’m doing and pray for them right then and there. It doesn’t matter where we are at. We can be at work, the grocery store, out to dinner, etc… I use to tell people I’d pray for them, then I would forget. I would become busy with doing something else or focussing on my kids. I just find it better to touch and agree with them right there. We all need prayer and the mere fact someone has trusted us enough to come to us and ask for prayer, should make us stop and take a minute to pray. We just don’t know that our prayers may have helped them make it just one more day. Our prayers may have stopped them from committing suicide or homicide. Our prayers may have made them say; I’ll run on to see what the ends going to be.

Make sure you’re never to busy to stop and pray when someone asks. It might just save their life.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Do You Love Me

Do you go around acting like Jesus is not enough for you? Do you feel like you need something more than Jesus? Has Jesus ever had to ask you, do you love me, do you trust me, will you do my will?

For many of us, Jesus has had to ask us ; do we love and trust him. Why is that? Could it be, we say one thing with our mouths but we do another thing in our actions. Could it be that loving Jesus means caring for the poor, and we’re only worried about me, myself and I. Could it be, trusting him means taking our hands and mouths off the situation.

Do you love me? That’s something to think about, especially; when Jesus has to ask us that question.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Know Me When You Don’t Need Me

Today I received an email from someone I know asking for monetary help. Mind you, I haven’t spoken to this person in almost a year. Every time we speak, I’m the one calling. Granted I live far away, but I have made every accommodation for family and friends to be able to reach me at a moments notice. So, when I received this email asking for help because something happened to them while traveling, I never responded back. It’s strange they never consulted me prior to taking the trip, but I’m their answer now that things have gone wrong on their trip.

All this time has passed; no call, no email, no Skype, no Tango, no Twitter, etc… But trouble has arisen and all of a sudden they know me. The email even said you are my last resort and hope. I’m all about helping people but when you know me and don’t need me; it makes it a whole lot easier, than to act like you don’t know me until you need me.

God teaches us to be good stewards over what he has given us and me not helping doesn’t make me a bad Christian, it makes me a wise Christian. Besides, even if I was to help, how do I know I would get my money back? How do I know if they will go back to not knowing me again? So to save myself some heartache and headache, I will let them find hope in someone else. For my mother always told me, don’t lend nothing you can’t afford to give away.

So at this juncture in my life, I can’t afford to give away a peace of mind. I can’t afford to give away costly advice. I can’t afford to give away the kitchen with the kitchen sink and I definitely can’t afford to give away something I’ve worked so hard for, to someone who don’t know me when they don’t need me.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Why

How many of us have ever asked The Lord, why? Why does so many things have to happen? Or, why me Lord?
Have we ever asked the question, why not me Lord?

There is nothing wrong with asking God why; just be prepared for the answer that he gives you. Many people may tell you that you can’t question God, but if you never question God, how will you ever get answers from him.

God doesn’t always answer our questions, why, the way we expect him to. Sometimes, he just tells us; my grace is sufficient.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Just Ask

The bible says we have not because we ask not. As I was driving home yesterday God told me to email a certain individual and ask him to give me his car. In my mind I was like what? Then God said, what are you afraid of; you have not because you ask not.

Later that night I emailed the individual and asked if he had a car they wanted to give away. The individual asked why and what was going on. I explained that my daughter is graduating high school in a few days, I have three children, I’m raising my grandson and I’m a single parent. He replied right back to the email and said yes I have a car to give you but you have to put it in your name by tomorrow , and could he hold the car until Saturday due to some errands he had to run. Of course I said yes.

Today I met him and we transferred everything in my name and he explained how God told him to give the car away, he tried giving it to two other people and they didn’t respond. He then tried to get rid of it at the junk yard just to get the car out of his name but God quickly reminded him to give it away. Then I was obedient and did what God told me to do and ask.

Needless to say, this car has everything and it only needs two tires replaced. It’s going to my daughter as a graduation present. No car note, insurance is paid up for the year and it has all the bells and whistles. Had I not been obedient to the voice of God I would have missed out on my blessing and I wouldn’t have anything because I didn’t ask.

So the next time God tells you to open your mouth and ask, do it! You never know what he has in store for you.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Do You Really Want To Know

We’ve all said hello how are you doing to someone; but did we really want to know how they were doing? Many times we expect them to say fine and we keep it moving.

When was the last time you’ve asked someone how they were doing and you found yourself talking to them for hours? When you walked away you may have felt overwhelmed, confused, or grateful that you’re not experiencing what they are experiencing and perhaps you may have said I really didn’t want to know all of that.

Well it’s good to know that God really does want to know how we feel. He’s not going to be phased by what we tell him. He’s not going to even think that we are taking up all of his time. Honestly, he welcomes open communication.

Now if you happen to ask him what he thinks about your situation you must first ask yourself, do I really want to know, can I handle the answer God is about to give me, will I be able to receive it once he tells me what he’s going to do?

So then, our prayer should be Lord prepare our hearts and minds for the people we encounter today and for the answers you will give us concerning the questions we ask you.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
