Church is the only place people quit when they get hurt. I mean they just stop going and keep talking about the hurt they experienced years and years down the road. That’s funny to me because, they don’t quit their job when they get hurt or offended on the job. They don’t quit dating when the other person hurts them, they just let that person go and get someone new. Church hurt is not a reason to quit. Just pray and ask God to give you a forgiving heart and if it’s his will let you find a new place of worship.

If we spent more time trying to please God rather than being people pleasers we’d be much better off than we are.

Do you get offended when someone doesn’t speak to you at work or at church? Don’t take it personal. We never know what a person is going through. We don’t know what it took for them to get to work or church. Honestly, we are the furthest thing from their mind. They are too consumed with what they have to face. So, instead of being offended that no one spoke to you, speak to them and keep it moving.

How many of you are spending money you don’t have this holiday season just to put a smile on someone’s face? Before you spent the money, did you take care of home first? Did you ensure all the bills were paid and there was enough food to last for more than a day? Or were you too busy giving your hard earned money away just to be able to say what you did for someone on Christmas Day? Material things don’t express love. It may make someone happy and feel good but that’s not love. There is a gift we can give everyone and it’s already been paid for. We can tell them about Jesus birth, death, and resurrection. Now that’s a gift worth having.

God will supply all of our needs according to his riches and glory. God didn’t bring you this far to leave you. He knows what you have need of. Trust him and obey his word, God will provide.

When everyone thinks you should do one thing, but God tells you to do another thing; you have to go against all odds. When your backs against the wall and the wrong thing keeps tugging on you, you have to go against all odds and do the hard right thing. God never promised us the road would be easy, but he did say no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

It’s not always good to let other people know what you’re thinking. Sometimes it’s best to sit back and observe without saying one word. In due time the opportunity will present itself for you to have your say.

Stop laying awake at night. Since God is already awake, tell him all about your problems and then get you some sleep. There’s no need for both of you to be up. Besides, you can’t do anything about your problems and God has already worked it out.

I’ve been a lot of places and I’ve seen a lot of things, but I ain’t never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread.

Whatever is going on in your life at this very moment, thank God. It could be worse than what it really is. As long as you’re alive things have a chance to get better.
