We Are Reconciled To Christ

Good morning. Because of Jesus’ death on the cross our sins are forgiven and we are no longer separated from Christ. We now have an advocate that can plead our case and drop all the charges against us. Once guilty of sin, now we are pronounced not guilty because of the shedding of the blood of Christ. This new verdict gives us freedom in Christ. Let’s not neglect the Lord. Let’s not take his sacrifice for granted. Let us always remember he took our place. Let’s not act like Jesus owes us anything, when he paid everything just to save us. With our new found freedom let’s tell a dying world about Jesus; the one who forgives sins; Jesus, the one who’s the Savior of the world. Jesus, the one who redeems our lives out of the pit. It’s time we show the world what a Mighty God we serve.

Colossians 1:20-22
and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

Include Children In Ministry

Good morning. Why do we think children should be left out of ministry? We include them in movies when some movies are not suitable for them to watch. We include them in sports when some language is not appropriate for them to hear. Yet, when it comes to ministry, we want to exclude them, put them in a room with hotdogs and chips and call it children’s church. We should be teaching our children how to pray, how to worship, and how to search the scriptures. Jesus loves the children and he welcomes them to come to him. We have to stop pushing our children away from the Lord and start ushering them into his presence.

Matthew 19:13-15
One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.
But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.

There Is No Escape

Good morning. If we ignore the message of salvation and live the way we want to live, let us not think we can escape the wrath of God. It doesn’t matter who the message comes from, we need to take heed. Jesus is giving us every opportunity to accept him. We cannot waste our time or our lives thinking we can do whatever we want to do then accept the Lord right before we die. We don’t know how God has chosen for us to depart this world. So while the blood is running warm in our veins, we need to grab hold of this salvation that Jesus is offering and we need to live our lives according to the word.

Hebrews 2:3-4
So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? And God confirmed the message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit whenever he chose.

Accept The Way God Operates

Good morning. Have you ever wondered why God does things a certain way? Surely, if we had a choice in the matter we would do it a bit different. What we fail to realize is, God ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. The sooner we accept that God is going to do things his way, the better off we will be.

Ecclesiastes 7:13
Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked?

God Knows Who’s Calling Upon Him

Good morning. God is responsive to those who call on his name in truth. Since God knows our every thought, he knows when counterfeits are mocking and calling his name. God is a very present help in the time of trouble, therefore, we must call on him knowing that he’s near. We must call on him knowing that he will answer. We must call on him knowing that he knows our voice, and that he knows we’re calling him out of a pure and sincere heart.

Psalms 145:18
The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

Being Led Away By Temptation Is A Choice

Good morning. Sin is first conceived in our hearts and minds, then we act on those sinful thoughts and desires. Once we’ve brought sin to fruition it matures and finally it brings about death. We have a choice if we want to be drawn away and enticed by our own sinful desires. We also have a choice to seek God and let him know the struggles that are within us. Being tempted is not a sin; for Jesus was tempted by Satan. The sin comes when we give in to the temptation. So, before we blame God for letting us be tempted, we should look within our own selves and confess our sins. For God doesn’t tempt us, he test us.

James 1:13-15
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Get Off Your High-Horse

Good morning. We shouldn’t be so full of ourselves thinking we’re all that. We’re no better than the next person. We may have more stuff and more money than someone else, but that doesn’t make us any better than them. We should always be willing to help where we can, because we can be up today and in need tomorrow. Don’t let God have to turn the tables on us to prove this point to us. Let’s stay humble and not think so highly of ourselves. For being high-minded is not what God called us to be; he called us to be holy.

Galatians 6:3
If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.

Take Your Acting Lessons Serious

Good morning. We all have had acting lessons in life. Our parents taught us how to act inside and outside the house because the way acted reflected on them. If we messed up our acting lessons there was a price to pay, especially, if we messed up outside the house. Our parents were our first acting coach. Now that we’ve confessed Jesus as our Lord and Savior, he’s our acting coach and the consequences for messing up is totally different from when we messed up with our parents. It’s best that we put into practice what we’ve learned from the word of God because our actions reflect our Heavenly Father and we don’t want to bring shame or reproach to his name.

Ephesians 4:30
And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

We Don’t Have To Stay In A Sinful State

Good morning. As Christians we are apt to mess up. We are not perfect and we don’t always obey God. It’s in those times of walking and acting in disobedience, we should welcome help from our brothers and sisters who are walking upright before the Lord. They are not here to condemn us. They are here to help restore us to right fellowship with the Lord. We may not like the fact that they’ve called us out on our disobedience but we should be thankful that they love us enough to not want to see us go to hell. Furthermore, those of us that God uses to help restore our fallen sister or brother shouldn’t poke our chest out because the same temptation could befall us; therefore, we must watch as well as pray.

Galatians 6:1
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.

Be Careful How You Treat Others

Good morning. God wants us to love our neighbor like we love ourselves. Will we hurt ourselves on purpose? Will we lie on ourselves and scandalize our own name? Will we treat ourselves disrespectfully? Will we curse ourselves out? If we wouldn’t do these things to ourselves, then we shouldn’t do these things to other people. We are not perfect and we should stop holding other people to a standard of perfection. We are all works in progress and on any given day we can mess up. So, the same love and compassion that’s been shown us by a loving God, let’s show that to others.

Romans 13:9
For the commandments say, “You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet.” These—and other such commandments—are summed up in this one commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
