Don’t Stop Your Worship

Good morning. It seems that when calamity befalls us, the first thing we want to do is worry and complain. Job teaches us the first thing to do is worship the Lord. No matter what type of destruction dawns our doorstep, our very first instinct should be to worship the great I AM. We sin when we begin to blame God for our mishaps and start saying Lord why me; why did you let this happen? What we are really saying when we ask the Lord why did he let this happen to us is; Lord you were asleep at the wheel and if you were awake things would be better. We don’t worship God because of a feeling or for the things he gives us. We worship God for who he is. He has the whole world in his hands and he can do whatever he desires. He can allow whatever he wants. We don’t have a right relationship with the Lord if we selectively worship him. David declared “I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” David understood when he’s up he’ll bless the Lord. When death dawns his door, he’ll bless the Lord. When loved ones act out of character, he’ll bless the Lord. We must have this same attitude; no matter what comes our way our worship will not stop.

Job 1:20-22
Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The LORD gave me what I had, and the LORD has taken it away. Praise the name of the LORD!” In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.

Merry Christmas

Good morning and Merry Christmas. The best present we can ever have this Christmas is a relationship with the Lord. If you didn’t get a present or couldn’t afford to buy presents for your children or loved one’s don’t cry about it or feel bad. Thank God you have one another and that you’re still alive. Instead of looking for a present on Jesus’ birthday, give him a present. Let’s present our bodies as a living sacrifice; holy and acceptable which is our reasonable service. Let’s worship him for who he is and not what he does. Enjoy this day and bask in the love of God not in a material present.

Isaiah 9:6
For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Don’t Provoke God

Good morning. In Christ we are free. Yet, we still must be careful who we worship with. Just because someone puts God name on something doesn’t mean that’s for us. The Bible declares to try the spirit and see if it’s of God. If we lack discernment we need to ask for it. Ignorance of the law is no defense in court, neither is ignorance of the word of God a defense before the Lord. We’ve heard enough about God to search the scriptures for ourselves. Let’s not be foolish and provoke God and he reigns down his wrath upon us.

1 Corinthians 10:21-22
You cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and from the cup of demons, too. You cannot eat at the Lord’s Table and at the table of demons, too. What? Do we dare to rouse the Lord’s jealousy? Do you think we are stronger than he is?

God Is The Same God In All Things

Good morning. No matter what it looks like it’s working for our good. Some may say; how is tragedy and sorrow working for our good? It’s working for our good because it’s making us pray and call on the name of the Lord. It’s funny how when everything is going right we give God all the praise. Yet, as soon as we hit a bump in the road, we start questioning our faith and wondering if God is real or why is he allowing this to happen. He’s the same God that was God when good things were happening to us and he’s the same God when tragedy and sorrow comes. So, don’t fall out of love with God when things are not going your way.

Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Sing A Song Of Praise

Good morning. When God has been so good to us it makes us want to sing his praises. When we’ve prayed and he’s answered, it gives us confidence in knowing he’s attentive to our every need. Our souls rejoice when we know the word of God is true; God is a very present help in the time of trouble. So, sing unto the Lord a new song for he is worthy to be praised.

Psalms 108:1-3
My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart! Wake up, lyre and harp!
I will wake the dawn with my song. I will thank you, LORD, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations.

God Can Do It Again

Good morning. If God worked things out for us before he can do it again. Whatever situations we find ourselves in know that God see’s us and he’s waiting on us to open our mouths and call out to him. He already knows what we need but are we willing to ask for it? Are we willing to ask for help, favor and mercy? Communication goes a long way with God. It’s good to have others pray with you or pray for you but it’s better when you talk to God for yourself.

Habakkuk 3:2
I have heard all about you, LORD. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger,
remember your mercy.

Stop Willfully Sinning

Good morning. This is not the season to be willfully sinning. God is not playing around with us nor is he winking at us anymore. He’s literally taking folks out of the earth. Know that our sinful behavior is not acceptable in his sight. We’ve had warning after warning, so when God’s judgment comes we can truly say we brought this on ourselves.

Isaiah 66:3-4
But those who choose their own ways— delighting in their detestable sins— will not have their offerings accepted.
When such people sacrifice a bull, it is no more acceptable than a human sacrifice.
When they sacrifice a lamb,
it’s as though they had sacrificed a dog! When they bring an offering of grain, they might as well offer the blood of a pig. When they burn frankincense, it’s as if they had blessed an idol. I will send them great trouble— all the things they feared. For when I called, they did not answer. When I spoke, they did not listen. They deliberately sinned before my very eyes and chose to do what they know I despise.”

The Lord Is Our Helper

Good morning. It’s good to have money and not have to ask anyone for help. However, we are not to love money and we are not to think that we can do everything on our own. The Lord is our helper and he’s designed it so that we have to lean and depend on him. We are not to be fooled by our bank accounts, thinking because we have enough money we don’t need the Lord. Don’t trust in riches, trust in the Lord.

Hebrews 13:5-6
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you.
I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

My Redeemer Lives

Good morning. God’s promises are true. God promised us a Savior and he gave us Jesus. We can shout and rejoice knowing that Jesus has redeemed us before the father. Jesus has bore our punishment. Jesus makes intercession for us. Jesus makes sure we don’t get what we deserve. So before we start feeling sorry for ourselves and murmuring and complaining; remember Jesus saves.

Luke 1:68-70
“Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has visited and redeemed his people.
He has sent us a mighty Savior from the royal line of his servant David, just as he promised through his holy prophets long ago.

The Strong Aught To Help The Weak

Good morning. There are some believers who are weak in the faith. We are not to condemn them or treat them less than. On the contrary, we are to love on them, encourage them, take them under our wings and help cultivate their faith. Remember, we were not always as strong in our faith as we are now. It took time for our faith to grow. Stronger Christians labored with us and taught us by example. Let’s make sure us stronger Christians are not the ones being stumbling blocks for the weaker Christians.

Romans 14:13
So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.
