Let Your Light Shine

Good morning. As believers we come freely to God to confess our sins. We acknowledge our wrong, knowing, we serve a God that’s faithful and just to forgive our sins. Evil doers are afraid to walk in this light because they are not trying to change from their evil ways, and they don’t want their sins exposed. We must let our light shine before men, so they may see our good works and glorify God in heaven.

John 3:20-21
All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”

We Have To Reevaluate How We Love

Good morning. We must reevaluate how we love people. Those of us that are in Christ cannot pick and choose who we love. For, God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son. God loves us all and we make his name a reproach amongst men when we say; we love God in one breath and hate some people in the next breath. In fact, the Bible declares we are liars when we don’t follow God’s commands and claim to be his children. When are we going to stop lying? When are we going to start walking in truth? If we have a problem with loving others like Christ loves others, we need to place this on the altar and ask God to create in us a new heart and renew a right spirit in us. Let’s stop walking in error and fooling ourselves into thinking that God is pleased with us. Hating people is not apart of being holy or walking upright before the Lord.

1 John 4:20-21
If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.

We Are Ambassadors Of Christ

Good morning. How we display our representation of God affects how people choose to accept him or not. Are we taking being ambassadors for Christ serious? Do we care how we put the Lord on display? As an ambassador of Christ we will pay the price for being a stumbling block to those who are looking for Christ but our behavior makes them stray away; and we will be rewarded for showing the love of Jesus and drawing all men unto him.

2 Corinthians 5:20
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

Take Your Own Advice

Good morning. There comes a time in life when we have to take our own advice. That same confidence and no-nonsense attitude we had when we were helping other people in the midst of their storm is the same attitude we have to have in our storm. God is the same God we’ve been sharing with others in their misery. We have to speak life over ourselves and our situations. We have to keep telling ourselves; we’re coming out, we will not be ashamed, we’re more than conquerors, this is but a light affliction and God knows what he’s doing. Don’t allow your circumstances to change how you see God. He’s a good God when things are going well and he’s an even better God when calamity finds our address.

Job 4:3-6
“In the past you have encouraged many people; you have strengthened those who were weak. Your words have supported those who were falling; you encouraged those with shaky knees. But now when trouble strikes, you lose heart. You are terrified when it touches you. Doesn’t your reverence for God give you confidence? Doesn’t your life of integrity give you hope?

Don’t Weary The Lord

Good morning. We cannot afford to go along to get along. We must speak truth to power no matter who’s in power. We have to call wrong, wrong. Right, right and a spade a spade. God has us covered and he will not allow weapons that are formed against us to prosper. Don’t weary God because we’re afraid to ruffle a few feathers by calling out injustices. God never called us to act unseemly but he has called us to stand for righteousness. There’s a decent way to do everything. Therefore, we are without an excuse when we see wrong and we call it right just to appease those around us.

Malachi 2:17
You have wearied the LORD with your words. “How have we wearied him?” you ask. You have wearied him by saying that all who do evil are good in the LORD’s sight, and he is pleased with them. You have wearied him by asking, “Where is the God of justice?”

Shift Your Focus

Good morning. When we direct our focus towards heavenly things, we display the light of Christ. If all we’re concerned about is earthly things, then we are full of darkness. The Bible declares we are not to love this world nor the things of this world. We must always remember that we are strangers passing through here; heaven is our home. The sooner we realize that, the sooner our focus will shift to the things of the Lord.

Matthew 6:22-23
“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!

Take God Out The Box

Good morning. Can we really comprehend the magnitude of how much the Lord loves us and how patient he is with us? We must take God out the box we put man in. Man is no comparison for God. Man will let you down. Man will fall in and out of love with you. Man will lose patience with you. Man will break his promises. Man will tell your secrets. God is slow to anger. God loves us with an everlasting love, an unconditional love and an unfailing love. God’s promises are yea and amen. God is a secret keeper and a burden bearer. God gives us another chance and another chance and another chance, etc. To understand God’s love we must get in the word. The Bible is a story about the greatest love of all; pick it up and read it.

2 Thessalonians 3:5
May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

Our Faith Can Change God’s Mind

Good morning. Will we be able to change God’s mind by putting our actions, faith and lifestyle on the line? Do we have enough faith not to accept a word of prophecy and talk to God about what he sent his prophets to prophesy? When we know we’ve been walking upright before the Lord and we’ve been communicating with him daily, let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. We must live the word of God and put faith into action.

2 Kings 20:1-6
About that time Hezekiah became deathly ill, and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to visit him. He gave the king this message: “This is what the LORD says: Set your affairs in order, for you are going to die. You will not recover from this illness.”
When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, “Remember, O LORD, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly.
But before Isaiah had left the middle courtyard, this message came to him from the LORD: “Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the LORD. I will add fifteen years to your life, and I will rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my own honor and for the sake of my servant David.’”

God Will Dish Out Justice

Good morning. We’ve seen injustices in this world and some of us have committed or were complicit in injustice. Just because we see people going free and doing things they want to do doesn’t mean they are getting away with anything. Yes, we want God to show up and reign holy terror on them, but he’s a just God, he’s a fair God and he gives people a chance to come clean and get it right with him. Ultimately, God will bring us all into account in his time, not ours. So while we’re waiting on him to bring justice to others, let’s make sure our houses are in order, let’s make sure that we are living holy, that we are standing for righteousness because he has no respect of person. That means, when he decides to act, if we’re not right or ready he will deal with us accordingly.

Amos 5:21-24
“I hate all your show and pretense— the hypocrisy of your religious festivals and solemn assemblies. I will not accept your burnt offerings and grain offerings. I won’t even notice all your choice peace offerings. Away with your noisy hymns of praise! I will not listen to the music of your harps. Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, an endless river of righteous living.

Be Careful What Advice You Give When You’re Hurting

Good morning. We don’t know the spiritual maturity level of people, therefore, we have to be careful what information we give them in our time of heartbreak, trials and tribulations. When people are following us they look to us for guidance and there will be times when we have to guide others through our own pain. We have to make sure we are not telling them to go back to hellish situations because we’re bitter and hurt. We have to make sure we’re not telling them to go on a path that God never called them to just because things haven’t worked in our favor. No matter how we feel or what we’re experiencing, our advice should always direct people to Jesus.

Ruth 1:14-16
And again they wept together, and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-bye. But Ruth clung tightly to Naomi. “Look,” Naomi said to her, “your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods. You should do the same.” But Ruth replied, “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.
