It’s In The Word

Good morning. The word of God will guide us, that’s why we need to read it, and meditate on it so we know what it says. The word of God gives us life and light. There’s no need for us to walk around with hung down heads or in darkness when we have the word of God at our fingertips. Our spirits can be revived through the word of God. Whatever we need, whatever we’re going through, whatever we’re feeling; there’s a remedy for it in the word.

Psalms 119:105
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

We Can Count On God

Good morning. Isn’t it good to know the same God our ancestors served is the same God we serve today; He changes not. God is consistent. God is reliable. God is faithful. We can count on him to show up on our behalf. We can count on him to discipline us when needed. We can count on him to love us unconditionally. We can count on him to promote us and when we get high-minded we can count on him to demote us. We serve a good and gracious God and we shouldn’t want it any other way.

Psalms 119:90
Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.

Keep God’s Commands Even In The Midst Of Set Traps

Good morning. With trouble on every side, we still have to stand on the word of God. We don’t serve God on our feelings; because truth be told, we don’t always feel like praying, reading the word or worshiping. The Lord never told us that this life would be a bed roses. However, he did say that trials and tribulations are sure to come and that we should count it all joy. When we understand that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ, then we can rest easy knowing that God will rescue us in his timing. Don’t be dismayed when enemies arise, for David declared; when my enemies came upon me they stumbled and fell. God is a very present help in the time of trouble.

Psalms 119:85-87
These arrogant people who hate your instructions have dug deep pits to trap me.
All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause. They almost finished me off, but I refused to abandon your commandments.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing

Lord Give Me The Sense To Follow You

Good morning. We have God’s word, we have the ability to talk to God in prayer, we have the ability to hear God speak back to us, yet, we still have free-will to follow him. Our daily prayer should be, “Lord give me enough sense to follow you today.” As smart and as educated as we are, we still need sense to follow God; this doesn’t come from a textbook but from God himself. Our spirit is willing but our flesh is weak. That’s why we must allow our spirit-nature to override our flesh-nature. Following God requires that we let this flesh die daily. We have to stop giving our flesh excuses why we allow it to act sinfully and place it under the subjection of Christ.

Psalms 119:73
You made me; you created me.
Now give me the sense to follow your commands.

Standing On The Promises Of God

Good morning. When trials and tribulations come, we need to remember what God promised us. When hope seems to fade away, we need to remember what God promised us. In remembering the promises of God, we can remind ourselves that what’s happening to us right now is not the end of the story. God has so much more in store for us, we just have to go through this rough patch to get to the other side. God is faithful and just. God is a man of his word. God will never leave us nor forsake us. If God said it, it will come to past. So, stand on the promises of God no matter what you see in front of you.

Psalms 119:49-50
Remember your promise to me;
it is my only hope. Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.

Lord Keep Us From Lying To Ourselves

Good morning. When was the last time we opened up to God with a for real prayer about ourselves? Have we ever prayed; Lord keep me from lying to myself? If we can’t open up to God then who can really talk to? God is not put off by our most deepest thoughts, secrets and longings. This is what he desires; for us to come to him and lay everything on the altar. Our fears, regrets and sins. What a prayer to pray; Lord keep me from lying to myself. The Bible declares a liar won’t tarry in the sight of God, so yeah, if you want to come into his presence; this is one of the first things we need to square away.

Psalms 119:29
Keep me from lying to myself;
give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.

No Longer Bound By Sin

Good morning. It’s good when we can recognize our sin, recognize where we’ve fallen short of the glory of God and be willing to confess it to the Lord, and get it right. When we try to cover up our sins and act like we’ve done nothing wrong, that’s when we give Satan ammunition to accuse us before God. The Bible declares whom the Son set free is free indeed. There’s no need to be a child of God and walk around in bondage. Just come clean with God, besides, he already knows what we’ve done. He’s just waiting on us to stop lying to ourselves and the Holy Spirit and confess our sins. We can break the chains of bondage when we make up in our minds that sin will no longer control us.

Psalms 51:1-3
Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion;
it haunts me day and night.

You Want Wise And Calm People In Your Circle

Good morning. We need wise, calm people in our circle. When all hell is breaking loose in our lives, we need someone who knows how to respond and not react; someone who knows how to pray. Calm people know how to defuse a situation and they don’t get all riled up from what they see and hear. Wise and calm people look beyond what’s going on and weigh out the consequences; they think things through before speaking on a matter. If everyone in your circle is always on 100, then you will never accomplish anything because, everyone is reacting, angry and venting their frustrations. It’s alright to change circles if you have to. The Bible declares if we lack wisdom all we have to do is ask for it. We need to ask God for the wisdom to have the right people around us.

Proverbs 29:8
Mockers can get a whole town agitated, but the wise will calm anger.

Work For What You Want

Good morning. Growing up we were taught to work hard for what we wanted; get rich quick was not apart of our conversations. If we’re always trying to get something for nothing, it’s not going to work. If we think that God is just going to allow us to get honest gain by doing nothing, we’re living in a fantasy world. The Bible declares if a man don’t work he doesn’t eat. Before God gave Adam a wife he gave him a job; Adam name these animals. We don’t need to jeopardize our livelihood trying to make a quick buck that most of the time doesn’t pan out.

Proverbs 28:19
A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies ends up in poverty.

Stop Being Oppressive

Good morning. We should all want to see each other succeed in life. If we are down in the dumps, we shouldn’t oppress others that are down. What does that say about our character? What does that say about the God we say we serve? If we are to treat others like we treat ourselves, why do we pick and choose who we want to make it? We must think real low of ourselves and hate ourselves, if we can be on the bottom of the barrel and still trying to be oppressive to others. We need to check our relationship with God and ask for forgiveness and a reality check, because this type of behavior is not Christ like.

Proverbs 28:3
A poor person who oppresses the poor is like a pounding rain that destroys the crops.
