What Season Is It?

Good morning. We know that this is the summer season naturally, but do we know what spiritual season we’re in? Have we asked God is this our season to fast and sit at his feet or is this our season to pour out into others? As Christians we never experience the same spiritual season at the same time. For some of us may be strong right now and we’re helping the weak. Then there will be times when we are weak, and the strong will help us. Whatever season we find ourselves in, we must keep the Lord as the center of our focus. We must allow the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us. If this is a challenging season we find ourselves in, we shouldn’t hate it or speak negatively about it; we should ask God what’s the purpose and what does He want us to learn. If this is a great season in our lives, don’t gloat but be grateful and stay focused on the Lord because a challenging and testing season is right around the corner.

Ecclesiastes 3:1
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

Honor Your Parents

Good morning. Honoring our mother and father is the first commandment that God gave with a promise. He never put stipulations on this commandment, meaning, if your parents were good then honor them. No, we are to honor them in whatever state they’re in. As parents, we need to teach our children to honor us and their other parent even if the other parent is absent in their lives. We are not to talk down or bad about the absentee parent because our children will think it’s ok to talk down to them and about them, thus, shortening their days on this earth. Let’s not teach our children to shorten their days on earth because of how we feel about an absentee parent.

Exodus 20:12
“Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

Don’t Reject God

Good morning. Who or what have we made an idol in our lives that we now worship? Worshipping anything or anyone besides God, means that we are rejecting God and that rejection will affect our whole family. We need to cultivate our relationship with God, for this is the most important relationship of our lives. Before we say we don’t put anything or anyone before God, we need to do an inventory of our lives and see where all of our time, talents and treasures are spent. If we find ourselves putting other gods before the true and living God, we need to repent, denounce those things and people we’ve been worshipping and get in the presence of the Almighty.

Exodus 20:4-5
“You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.

Don’t Compare Yourself To Others

Good morning. Comparing ourselves to others only leaves us miserable. We need to learn to be content with the skills, talents, abilities and gifts that God has given us. When we spend time perfecting our skills, talents, abilities and gifts, we won’t have time to look at what other people are doing. God created us all different. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. There’s no need to try and be like someone else or compare ourselves with others.

Galatians 6:4
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.

Go Over Your Checklist Daily

Good morning. We must do a daily inventory of our spiritual walk with God. He’s given us a checklist of what shouldn’t be in our lives. If we find these things in our lives we need to turn them over to the Lord. Now that we are in Christ we are new creatures. We shouldn’t be memorializing the old man. We should let our old nature die and stay buried. Let’s stop living like this is all there is to life. Let’s stop living worldly. We cannot afford to be carnal minded in this season. For we want our names to be found in the Book of Life.

Galatians 5:19-21
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

God Knows Who He’s Using

Good morning. There’s no need in giving God any excuses about why he shouldn’t use us. He knows exactly who we are, what we’ve done and what we’re going to do. He knows all of our shortcomings, disabilities and fears. Nevertheless, he still calls upon us to do a work for him. Our only answer should be yes Lord, I’m a willing vessel Lord. We shouldn’t try to talk God out of using us. We shouldn’t try to give him excuse after excuse why we’re not the right ones for the job. God is not in the business of making us comfortable. He’s in the business of stretching our faith and getting the glory out of our lives.

Jeremiah 1:5
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

Live Holy

Good morning. God has called us to holiness not happiness. We serve a holy God and therefore, we should be a holy people. It’s not hard living holy. Just like we purpose in our minds to do other things, we can purpose in our minds to live holy, to live the word, and to do the will of the Father. If we’re not living holy, the devil didn’t do it, we did it. We made the choice to live anyway that pleases the flesh and that’s contrary to the word of God.

Leviticus 20:26
You must be holy because I, the LORD, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own.

A Friendly Reminder

Good morning. There will be times in our lives when God reminds us who he is and what he’s done for us. Sometimes, we tend to forget that if it had not been for the Lord on our side our enemies would have consumed us. Sometimes, we tend to forget that we’re nothing in our own strength and might. We should be grateful that God is so gracious to remind us of his strength, power and glory, and that he doesn’t destroy us for believing our own hype. He is the Lord our God; it is he that has made us and not we ourselves.

Exodus 20:2
“I am the LORD your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery.

We Are A Reflection Of God

Good morning. God created us in his image therefore, we should look like him, talk like him and act like him. We shouldn’t be trying to change the way God made us. He didn’t make a mistake when he chose us to be a man or a woman. He didn’t make a mistake when he gave us our skin color. He didn’t make a mistake when he gave us our eye color, our accents, and all of our other features. When we look at ourselves in the mirror we are looking at a reflection of God.

Genesis 1:27
So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

The Main Thing

Good morning. We’ve always been taught to keep the main thing the main thing. And here is the main thing; have we been transformed and renewed in our minds? Have we circumcised our hearts and cut out all the evilness? Have we asked God to purge us and purify us? Fixing up our outer appearance is not the main thing, it’s superficial. Letting God do a work on the inside of us is the main thing.

Galatians 6:15
It doesn’t matter whether we have been circumcised or not. What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation.
