If It Had Not Been For The Lord On My Side

Good morning. God is so gracious; he didn’t let our enemies overtake us. Because God is for us, no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Have you ever wondered where would you be if God’s hand of mercy was not on you? Do you ever sit and wonder how is it your enemies keep trying to make you fall, but none of their tactics are working? We should rejoice and praise the Lord. Our testimony should be; if it had not been for the Lord on my side.

Psalms 124 (NLT) What if the Lord had not been on our side? Let all Israel repeat: What if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us? They would have swallowed us alive in their burning anger. The waters would have engulfed us; a torrent would have overwhelmed us. Yes, the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives. Praise the Lord, who did not let their teeth tear us apart! We escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap. The trap is broken, and we are free! Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

There Will Be Glory After This

Good morning. I just want to encourage you today. No matter what you’re going through, there will be glory after this. This is a light affliction although sometimes it seems as if you can’t bear it. Hold on to God’s unchanging hand. In his time he will allow you to have a breakthrough.

Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

How Will They Know

Good morning. How will people know that we are disciples of Christ? Will they know by looking at us? Will they know by having conversations with us? Jesus said they we know that we are his disciples by loving others. Not by saying we love others, but by showing the love Jesus gave us. Love is an action word. Anyone can give lip-service.

John 13:34-35 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

You’re In Control

Good morning. Did you know you have a crucial role in where you will live once you die? You’re in control of your souls destiny. God has given us free-will and no one can make make us do anything we don’t want to do. God won’t make us serve him. Man can’t make us serve him. We choose who and what we serve. We choose what we want to believe or disbelieve. Today is the day to start believing the right thing. We can say one thing with our mouths but God knows the intent of our heart.

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

I’m Down But I’m Not Out

Good morning. When people see us at our lowest they tend to count us out. That’s why it’s so important to surround ourselves with believers that can help us believe in tough times. No matter how low you get, if you’re a child of God know that you may be down, but not out. It will be a shame for people to count you out because the greater lives on the inside of you. Just because people count you out doesn’t mean that God has counted you out.

Acts 14:19-20 Then some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowds to their side. They stoned Paul and dragged him out of town, thinking he was dead. But as the believers gathered around him, he got up and went back into the town. The next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe.

A Song Of Praise

Good morning. Has the Lord ever been angry with you then he wasn’t? When you noticed his anger subsided did you have a song of praise? When was the last time you told someone how you made God angry but now he comforts you? We are quick to recognize when someone makes us mad and angry, but we never recognize that we make God angry. The Bible says God is slow to anger , it didn’t say he didn’t get angry. We need to have a song of praise on our lips always because God could have killed us in his anger, but he didn’t.

Isaiah 12:1-6(NLT) In that day you will sing: “I will praise you, O Lord! You were angry with me, but not any more. Now you comfort me. See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord GOD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation! In that wonderful day you will sing: “Thank the Lord! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is! Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world. Let all the people of Jerusalem shout his praise with joy! For great is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you.”

Love Is So Important

Good morning. What good is having spiritual gifts if we don’t have love? What good is being able to speak in tongues, preach, and prophesy; then turn around and be nasty, degrading, and hurtful to people? Without love we are nothing. Without love our spiritual gifts are useless. If we can’t find it within ourselves to love like Christ, we need to repent and not operate in our spiritual gifts until we have love for ourselves and others.

1 Corinthians 13:1-2 (NLT) If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.

When Life Seems Bitter

Good morning. Sometimes life can be a bitter pill to swallow when we only focus on the wrong and injustice we’ve suffered. When we are in Christ Jesus life is sweet even when things are not looking good. We must continue to trust God no matter what life brings our way. The old saints used to sing a song “I will trust in the Lord until I die”. Situations and circumstances don’t dictate our trust in God. Our relationship with the Lord allows us to look at life with the glass half-full and be positive and know; that all things work together for the good of them who love the Lord and are the called according to his purpose.

Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Love & Pray For Your Enemies

Good morning. Sometimes we have difficulty loving the people that say they love us. So when Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who do us wrong, there’s some hesitation and a whole lot of disobedience. We tell Jesus things like; “I’m not there yet Lord”, as if he’s going to say ok whenever you get ready. Being a child of God means that we don’t get to react like the world. Being a child of God means we respond the way Jesus would respond and that we imitate Christ on a daily basis. We can’t lift Jesus up by holding grudges and hating our enemy. Jesus said with love and kindness have I drawn thee.

Matthew 5:43-48 “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Be Careful What You Sign Your Name Too

Good morning. The Bible teaches us that we should only go so far to help someone financially. We should not be co-signing no one else’s debt, for there are consequences when we can’t pay for it. Everything doesn’t require a loan, sometimes people just need to be patient and save their money for what they want. The next time that family member or friend needs help to get a car, loan, tuition, house, etc. and they want you to co-sign for it; lead them to the word of God.

Proverbs 22:26-27 Don’t agree to guarantee another person’s debt or put up security for someone else. If you can’t pay it, even your bed will be snatched from under you.
