Keep Your Word

Good morning. We have to be careful what we say to God because it can be detrimental to us. When we tell God we’re going to do something we better do it. If we don’t make good on our word to God we’re worthless and God will deal with us. We have to think before we speak.

Ecclesiastes 5:4-5
When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.

Don’t Keep Silent

Good morning. It’s hard to see the miracles that Jesus has performed in our lives and keep quiet. His goodness towards us makes us want to sing, shout, holler, and throw up our hands. There are some who see us and wish we’d be quiet and not talk about the goodness of the Lord. If we ever cower to the crowd the Lord will have the rocks cry out. I don’t know about you, but I’m not looking for the crowds approval. Therefore, I’m going to shout it from the mountaintop HE REIGNS!!!

Luke 19:37-40
When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

Don’t Miss Out

Good morning. Now is not the time to lose faith. Why live on earth and go through hell, confess Jesus only with our lips, don’t connect our faith with what we say we believe; then fail to enter into his rest. There is absolutely no need for us to miss heaven.

Hebrews 4:1-3
A Sabbath-Rest for the People of God Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, So I declared on oath in my anger, They shall never enter my rest.’” And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world.

The Word Of God Requires Participation

Good morning. The word of God requires participation. The only way we get better at things is to do them repetitiously. It’s not enough to just hear the word, we have to put it into action. How would we know if prayer works if we don’t pray? How would we know if God would open up a window and pour us out a blessing if we didn’t tithe? How would we know that God would give us peace with our enemies if we never tried to please him. The word of God works, we just have to be willing participants.

James 1:22
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Don’t Blame God

Good morning. Don’t blame God because we can’t keep our flesh under subjection to him. We have to want to live holy. Time out for saying; oops I sinned, oops it just happened, oops one thing led to another. God has given us a way of escape and when we find ourselves tempted we can call on him right away. We don’t have to go down the wrong path, we choose to go astray. We should know by now there’s power in the name of Jesus.

James 1:13-14
When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.

Ask In Confidence

Good morning. When we come to God asking him for something, he wants us to come with confidence and assurance that we know who we are talking to. There is no need to doubt God. Besides, if we come to him doubting we won’t receive anything.

James 1:6
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Don’t Be Self-Indulgent

Good morning. We are not called to be people-pleasers, but we are called to build up our fellow sisters and brothers. Instead of being self-indulgent and always looking to please ourselves, we should look to please our neighbors and help them. We cannot be cold-hearted towards people that are not saved; how would we draw them to Jesus if we treated them in such a manner? Keep in mind everyone that show kindness and generosity to will not always be appreciative, but that’s between them and God. Just do what you’re supposed to do and that’s to please God.

Romans 15:1-3
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

It’s All Good

Good morning. Hold on to God’s unchanging hand. God is going to get the Glory out of our lives. He’s working things out for our good. He’s moving on our behalf. What came to make us fearful, made us cling to God even the more. It was meant for our bad, but God turned it around for our good. Keep seeking the Lord, keep surrendering your hearts to the Lord, keep obeying the Lord, and keep trusting in the Lord.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

We Were Once Sinners Too

Good morning. Let’s never forget that we are saved by the grace of God. We once were sinners and acted just like the world acts today. So, let’s keep praying for the lost in hopes that one day they come to their senses and make the most intelligent decision of their life; and that is to serve God.

Ephesians 2:1-5
Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!

Communication Is So Important

Good morning. Our communication with Christ is so important and we shouldn’t take it for granted. We should make it a point to spend time with him daily. Turn off the television, put the phone away, and get somewhere quiet and start talking to the Lord. As Christians, prayer should be apart of our daily routine. We should be excited to get in the presence of the Lord and not act like it’s a chore.

Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
