What Makes God Detest Our Prayers

Good morning. Do you hate following rules and laws? Sometimes laws can seem out of date and down right stupid nonetheless, they are still on the books. Did you know we are not pleasing to God when we don’t follow the law and that he detest our prayers when we refuse to obey the law. Jesus declares he didn’t come to do away with the law but to fulfill the law. If Jesus was obedient to the law, what do we think we have to do?

Proverbs 28:9
God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law.

Waiting Isn’t Always Good

Good morning. If we wait for things to be perfect we would never get anything done. If we waited for the perfect mate, we would always be single. If we waited for the perfect church, we would never join. If we waited for the perfect ministry, we would never serve. If we waited for the perfect person to witness to us, we would never accept Christ. Let’s stop waiting on the perfect conditions and work with the conditions in which we find ourselves in. When we seek God and put him in our plans things will work out even in imperfect conditions.

Ecclesiastes 11:4
Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.

Don’t Let Others Stop You

Good morning. When you are doing a work for God and your family, neighbors, and friends don’t respect the call of God on your life; don’t let their rejection keep you from serving God. Jesus experienced this in his family and hometown; and he didn’t stop doing what God called him to do, he just didn’t perform many miracles for them. They are the ones that missed their blessing while Jesus was still in the will of God.

Mark 6:1-4
Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown. The next Sabbath he began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. They asked, “Where did he get all this wisdom and the power to perform such miracles?” Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.”

We All Have A Fire Starter

Good morning. Let’s face it, sometimes we talk too much and sometimes we don’t watch what we say. Our speech can be so harsh at times and we can set fires with our words. The Bible declares a soft answer turns away wrath. Yet, somehow we allow our tongue to stir up all kinds of calamity and turmoil. We praise God one minute then in the next breath we’re cursing someone out; this isn’t Christ-like. We need to think before we speak. We need to ask ourselves; is what I’m about to say going to edify or destroy? If it’s going to destroy then it’s better to keep quiet.

James 3:6-9
And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God.

When Those Close To Us Hurt Us

Good morning. It’s hard for strangers to hurt us because they don’t know us. But, it’s hurtful when friends, family members, prayer partners, etc., who know us, pray with us, and we confide in them turn and hurt us. It’s in these time we cry out to God and say Lord why me. And sometimes his response is; my grace is sufficient. Truth be told, that’s not the answer we’re looking for but in time we begin to understand God knows all about what we’re going through and that it’s just a light affliction.

Psalms 55:12-14
If an enemy were insulting me,
I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend,
with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about
among the worshipers.

Beware Of People Falsely Representing The Gospel

Good morning. After we’ve tried God and found out that’s he’s a man of his word, how do we let someone convince us otherwise? We have to beware of false teachers, preachers, and prophets. If someone is coming to us and not speaking of Jesus death, burial, and Ressurection than they are falsely representing the gospel. Don’t let anyone fool you when you know the truth.

Galatians 3:1-2
You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?

Real Friends Confront Sin

Good morning. It’s good to have friends that don’t mind letting us know when we’re walking in sin. We shouldn’t get offended when they come to us and confront us. We should rejoice that they love us so much, that they don’t want to see the hand of God taken off our life. If you have a true friend that values your soul over your friendship; nurture that friendship, cultivate that friendship, because friends don’t let friends stay on a road to destruction.

Matthew 18:15
“If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.

Wait Patiently

Good morning. Waiting on the Lord is not easy. We become restless, impatient, and often times we try to speed up the process thinking we’re helping him out, when we’re actually delaying the process. God will not answer us one second before he’s ready. We’ve all heard the saying; “good things comes to those who wait”. Well when reading the Bible we find that blessings comes to those who are patient. David waited patiently and was pulled out of the pit, his feet were set on a rock, he had a firm place to stand, and a new song of praise was placed in his mouth. Just imagine what will happen when we wait patiently on the Lord.

Psalms 40:1-4
I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.He lifted me out of the slimy pit,out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him. Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Consider What God Has Done

Good morning. God allows good and bad times to come to everyone. When things are good we tend to forget about God. When things go bad, we tend to say Lord why me. When things are good in our life we should not get so comfortable to the point we stop seeking God, praying and reading the word. God blends the bad and good times in our life so that we cannot predict what’s going to happen in our life. God has a way to let us know that he’s in control.

Ecclesiastes 7:13-14
Consider what God has done:
Who can straighten what he has made crooked? When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.

Count Your Blessings

Good morning. Why complain about the negative things going on in our lives when we be thankful for all of the good things.m? We have plenty of things to thank God for. He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, redeems us from death, showers us with love and compassion, gives us the desires of our heart and gives us righteousness and justice. No matter how difficult our life’s journey may become, we can always count our blessings.

Psalms 103:1-5
Praise the LORD, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
