Being Able To See & Hear

Good morning. When we were born, we had no idea that we needed to see and hear. Yet, the Lord in all of his wisdom knew this was one gift that would be very useful in life. We shouldn’t take our sight for granted, for there’s blind people who have to be led daily. We shouldn’t take our hearing for granted, for there’s deaf people who have to rely on someone else to hear and interpret for them. The last thing we need in this life is the blind leading the blind and the deaf having no understanding. Cherish the gift of sight and hearing, for if we lose it, we will be miserable reminiscing on what we had.

Proverbs 20:12
Ears to hear and eyes to see— both are gifts from the LORD.

Live In Peace

Good morning. The Bible declares; to agree with your adversary quickly. Whether they’re right or wrong, agree with them so there will be peace. Many people won’t agree with this statement because they don’t won’t to agree with no one they don’t like. To live at peace with all people means we have to learn the art of avoiding quarrels. That doesn’t mean we’re weak or scared. That means, we’d rather expend our energy elsewhere.

Proverbs 20:3
Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.

Get Over People

Good morning. We don’t know everything therefore, we should learn as much as we can. If we see that someone has already traveled the path we’re on, it’s ok to ask them how did they do it. We have to learn to set our pride aside if we’re ever going to get somewhere in this life. Pride will stunt our growth. Pride will get us left behind. And, pride goes before destruction. One main reason we stop learning and taking sound advice from others is, we don’t like who the information is coming from. We have to learn how to get over people if we’re ever going to move ahead in life.

Proverbs 19:20
Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.

Don’t Treat Poor People Bad

Good morning. It’s too expensive to be poor. Poor people are treated cruel and harsher than people with means. Poor people get flack from the government, from local businesses, banks, the community and sadly their family. Why do we treat the poor so bad? Why have we forgotten that we’re all two weeks away from needing help? Why do we look down on the poor and we don’t know their story? Why have we forgotten that time and chance happens to us all? Before we go judging the poor, we should walk a mile in their shoes. That will teach us to keep our mouths shut and treat them humanly. The Bible declares; the poor will be with you always and you can help them anytime you want.

Proverbs 19:7
The relatives of the poor despise them; how much more will their friends avoid them! Though the poor plead with them, their friends are gone.

People Do Get Offended

Good morning. Once we’ve offended someone it’s hard to win them over. Every time they see us or hear our name, they will remember what we said and how we treated them. Now, if we’re speaking the word of God and speaking nothing but the truth and people get offended, then they will have to take that up with God. If we’re speaking the word of God and not living the word and people get offended, we could’ve just become a stumbling block for them. We must govern ourselves, our actions, and our speech; for life is filled with swift transition.

Proverbs 18:19
A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

Your Gift

Good morning. Don’t despise the gifts God has given you. You may want to be able to sing, but he gave you the gift of hospitality. You may want to be able to preach, but he gave you the gift of playing musical instruments. Whatever gift God gave you, cultivate it. Your gift will open up doors for you. Your gift will take you beyond your wildest dreams. Your gift will place you in front of the right people. Stop looking at and wishing you had someone else’s gift. God didn’t make any mistakes when he handed each of us our gifts.

Proverbs 18:16
A man’s gift maketh room for him,
and bringeth him before great men.

Keep Your Promises

Good morning. We expect God to keep his promises and he expects us to keep ours. When we don’t keep our promises, God will surely call us out on it. There’s consequences and repercussions for not upholding our promises. So, before we promise the Lord something, we better make sure we can fulfill it.

Isaiah 48:1-2
“Listen to me, O family of Jacob,
you who are called by the name of Israel and born into the family of Judah. Listen, you who take oaths in the name of the LORD and call on the God of Israel. You don’t keep your promises, even though you call yourself the holy city and talk about depending on the God of Israel,
whose name is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.

Don’t Forget The Lord

Good morning. If we forget the Lord, may we forget everything else. How can we leave the Lord out of our plans, ideas, thoughts and life and think everything is going to be alright? How can we think we can do anything without the Lord? We better not fool ourselves into thinking we’re independent of the Lord. It’s in him that we live, move, and have our being. Having a relationship with the Lord is not what we do, it’s who we are. It’s the essence of our being. Forgetting God surely will give us a first class, one-way ticket to hell.

Psalms 137:4-6
But how can we sing the songs of the LORD while in a pagan land? If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
let my right hand forget how to play the harp. May my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I fail to remember you, if I don’t make Jerusalem my greatest joy.

What We Believe Will Show In The Way We Act

Good morning. Let’s not act religious and deny the power of God. Let’s not act religious and have no relationship with the Lord. When we act, we’re taking on the character of a script that someone else wrote. We’re playing a role that God never intended for us to play. God gave us a script and it’s the Bible. He gave us our roles, he said; we’re fearfully and wonderfully made. The character he wants us to display is his character. The Bible declares; if we abide in him, he will abide in us. The Bible also declares; “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”. Therefore, we can walk in his power and authority. Bottom line, what we believe will show in the way we act.

2 Timothy 3:5
They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

Don’t Lie To The Holy Spirit

Good morning. Do you want to die real fast? Then lie to the Holy Spirit. We cannot withhold or hide anything. We serve El-Roi the all-seeing God or the God who sees me. So, don’t commit sin then try to lie about it. Don’t get paid then try to skimp on your tithes and act like you’re giving God what’s due him. You’re playing a dangerous game with your life. Just think; what if you die in the midst of lying to the Holy Spirit and don’t get a chance to repent. In hell will you lift up your eyes, for the Bible declares; a liar won’t tarry in the sight of God.

Acts 5:3-5
Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!” As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified.
