Do We Know God

Good morning. Do we know God or have we just heard of God? There’s no way we can say we know God and we don’t obey him. There’s no way we say we know God and we shun other Christians. There’s no way we can say we know God and our ways don’t align with the word of God. Perhaps we don’t know him, we’ve just heard of him. It’s not until we obey his commands that we can say; I know God.

3 John 1:11
Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God.

Don’t Betray Jesus

Good morning. As much as we would like to think we wouldn’t betray Jesus we need to look at our lifestyles. Whenever we say; I’m a follower of Jesus Christ then do the opposite of his word, we’re betraying him. When sin opportunities present themselves to us, we have a choice if we’re going to stay loyal to Jesus or betray him. Sadly; many Christians betray Jesus on a daily basis thinking they will have time to repent. We must watch and pray, and be on high alert because people are leaving this world in droves and we don’t know if many of them have had the time or mindset to repent. Don’t be found to be one of the ones that betray Jesus and die and go to hell. For if you die and go to hell it’s your fault.

Mark 14:10-11
Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the leading priests to arrange to betray Jesus to them. They were delighted when they heard why he had come, and they promised to give him money. So he began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.

I Want To Know The Lord For Myself

Good morning. Everything we need to live godly we got it. The more we read the word and meditate on the word, we are getting to know God in all his glory. If we never read the word for ourselves and just depend on a Sunday morning sermon, we can’t say we know the Lord, but we can say; we’ve heard of him through others. We should never depend on anyone else to have a relationship with God for us. This is a personal walk with Christ and we should want to know him for ourselves.

2 Peter 1:3
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

Hear The Whole Story

Good morning. Before we speak on a matter we need to hear the whole story. There’s always three sides to any story. Each party has a side then there’s the truth. We embarrass ourselves when we hear one side of a story and start trying to provide answers and solutions. Besides, we shouldn’t be trying to give anyone answers without consulting the Lord. It’s ok to keep our mouths shut, that shows how wise we really are.

Proverbs 18:13 Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish.

Stop Blaming God

Good morning. When we’re out here doing any and everything we want to do, we’re not seeking the Lord. It’s only when we hit a brick wall and calamity comes that we want to act like Mary and Martha and say; Lord where were you. We can’t get mad at God for our own foolish behavior. We thought we could sin, get away with it, and not suffer no consequences. We think God is winking at us and turning a blinded eye. We think because we say; the Lord knows my heart, that we have a blank check to sin. Well the Bible declares; the soul that sin shall die. So we can’t keep fooling ourselves and getting mad with God all we want. The only person we’re hurting is us. If we die and go to hell, it’s our fault, not God’s.

Proverbs 19:3
People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the LORD.

Purge My Heart

Good morning. When we take an inventory of our hearts we can be for real with God. Everything in our hearts are not pure. While we have the chance we should ask God to purge our hearts. We should freely give him the jealousy, bitterness, malice, hatred, lust, envy, and everything else we’re festering in our hearts that’s not of him. The Bible declares; out of the heart flows the issues of life. It also declares; only the pure in heart shall see the Lord.

Psalms 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Think Before You Speak

Good morning. Sometimes we can speak out of turn and ruin things. Then there are times when we use wisdom and say just the right thing at the right time. We feel good when we can contribute to a situation with the right response. We get embarrassed when we’ve said the wrong thing and caused harm. It’s imperative that we learn to think before we speak; this will save us a lot of heartache and headaches.

Proverbs 15:23
Everyone enjoys a fitting reply; it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time!

Cover Each Other

Good morning. As Christians we will mess up sometimes. We are not exempt from sin. We may find ourselves on the wide-road leading to destruction and death. It’s in those times, that we need the Christians that’s still living holy to cover us and help lead us back on the straight and narrow path. Judging the fallen Christians won’t do any good. Besides, we need to make sure we don’t fall into the same temptation or worse.

Galatians 6:1
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.

Helping Others

Good morning. Nobody needs to know how we help other people and the people we help, don’t need to be constantly reminded that we helped them. Therefore, we shouldn’t be posting all over social media what we’ve done. Whatever we do for others should be done out of a pure heart; not a complaining mouth. If we’re going to complain about helping others, we might as well keep our help to ourselves. God see’s everything we do and he knows the motives of our heart. He will reward us accordingly.

Matthew 6:1-2
“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.

I’m Not Missing Heaven For You

Good morning. We must be careful about letting our emotions get the best of us. Anger is an emotion that if not dealt with quickly, can ruin our walk with Christ. Nothing is more important than our relationship with the Lord. Besides, we should have the attitude that we are not going to let nothing and no one make us miss out on heaven.

Matthew 5:22
But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.
