We Need To Get Over Ourselves

Good morning. The Bible tells us to be helpers one to another. It doesn’t matter how much money we have, our status in the community, the titles we carry in church, or accolades we’ve received in our life, we all will need help at some point in our lives. The moment we think we’re above asking for help or helping others; we’ve deceived ourselves. We are not all that and we are not that important. Jesus taught his disciples how to serve by being a true servant. If we think we’re better than Jesus, then we most certainly are on dangerous ground. We need to get over ourselves, repent and start helping others.

Galatians 6:3
If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.

Restore One Another

Good morning. When our fellow sisters and brothers are caught up in sin, do we talk about them or do we try to help and restore them? We can’t afford to talk about them because as long as we are in this flesh, we are susceptible to the same sins. None of us are sin-free therefore, let’s pray for each other and help restore one another when we can.

Galatians 6:1
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.

Be Productive In A Painful Place

Good morning. God wants us to be productive while we’re still in a painful place. He knows how long we will be in the state we’re in, therefore, we must still work, build, and plant. Furthermore, we have to be mindful of who we’re listening to in times of trouble. If people are not speaking the word of God, then we can’t listen to them. If people are prophesying things contrary to what God has already told us, then we cannot listen to them. We cannot afford to complain and throw a temper tantrum when we find ourselves in a painful place; we must always have a posture of prayer and worship.

Jeremiah 29:4-6
This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives he has exiled to Babylon from Jerusalem: “Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce. Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away!

Don’t Get So Caught Up In This World

Good morning. We must remember we are strangers passing through this land. We shouldn’t get so caught up in this world or with the things of this world, because it’s all going away. Our focus should be on God and how we can please him. Our aim should be heaven and how we can obtain the ultimate prize, and spend eternity with the Lord. Being like the world will not get us to heaven. Being like the world, will only please man and our flesh, it will not please God. The real question is; do we want to be men pleasers or God pleasers? When we answer that question honestly, our behavior will line up with our answer.

Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

We Are Frail In The Sight Of God

Good morning. God wants us to know how frail we are. We are nothing without God. We can do nothing without God. We are like grass; we can grow today and be cut down tomorrow. We should never think that we are strong in our own might. The Bible declares; not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit says the Lord Almighty. Therefore, we should seek him, worship him, praise him and obey him.

Isaiah 40:6-7
A voice said, “Shout!” I asked, “What should I shout?” “Shout that people are like the grass. Their beauty fades as quickly as the flowers in a field. The grass withers and the flowers fade beneath the breath of the LORD. And so it is with people.

In Trying Times Hold On

Good morning. When calamity befalls us, we tend to want to know why. We go to God and plead our case before Him, we let Him know how much we love Him and serve Him, and we ask Him; why is this happening to us? Sometimes, He answers us right away and sometimes, He stays silent for a long time. It’s in those silent times that we must hold on to hope. It’s in those silent times, that we must not turn away from God because we don’t understand His purpose and plan for our lives. We have to be like Job, and tell ourselves; though calamity has hit my address, I trust you Lord. Though storms have come in my life, I trust you Lord. Our hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus Christ and His righteousness.

Job 13:15
Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Make Amends With Others

Good morning. As children of God, we have to learn how to make amends with people. We can’t keep using the excuse; that the other person has wronged us to justify how we treat them. We are not without fault. We’ve wronged people as Christians. So, before we become all sanctimonious and self-righteous, we need to forgive others and ask others to forgive us. Let’s not think we’re being righteous if we’re sacrificing our offering to Lord and still holding grudges in our heart. God is not like man, He judges the heart, not our appearance.

Matthew 5:23-24
“So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.

Use What God Has Given You

Good morning. God has given each of us skills, talents, gifts, and the ability to do something. Therefore, we should utilize everything He’s given us. When we die, all of these skills, talents, gifts, and abilities die with us. We can’t do anything in death. So, let’s put our hands to the plow. Let’s get busy working and showing God we’re grateful for what He’s placed on the inside of us. There’s so much wasted talent in the grave, let it not be said amongst us; here lies a person that God have all of this talent, skill, gifts, and ability to and they never used it.

Ecclesiastes 9:10
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Gain Strength During Your Wait

Good morning. Waiting on the Lord is not about Him being slow to answer. It’s about our strength being renewed through Him. While we’re waiting, we should be praying. While we’re waiting, we should be fasting. While we’re waiting, we should be feasting on the word of God. Doing these things while we’re waiting strengthens us. The more we’re strengthen, the less likely we will faint, grow weary, or throw in the towel. Don’t grow impatient during your wait instead, gain strength and run on to see what the end will be.

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
