Obedience Isn’t Complicated

Good morning. Doing the right thing isn’t hard, it’s a choice. Serving God isn’t hard, it’s a choice. We may think if we make sacrifices to the Lord then He will be pleased with us; that’s not necessarily true. God desires our obedience. He desires us to do the right thing when we think no one is looking. We make life and serving God hard and complicated. All we have to do is obey Him. It’s sad that we will obey man before we even think about obeying God. It’s sad that as Christians, we try to justify our disobedience to please the world, with the intentions on asking for forgiveness later. At what point on this Christian journey are we going to submit to and obey God? At what point on this Christian journey are we going to leave the world behind? It all really boils down to this question; are we going to continue to be friends with the world and enemies of God?

Proverbs 21:3
The LORD is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.

Christians Shouldn’t Live A Double Life

Good morning. It’s good to know that we can’t hide anything from God. We may not speak certain things in the atmosphere, but God still knows our thoughts and motives. This is a good thing because, He can correct us and help us to have a clean heart and pure motives. There’s no need for Christians to live a double life; praising God with our lips and having impure motives in our heart. We need to ask the Lord to search us and cleanse us from the inside out.

Proverbs 20:27
The LORD’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.

Keep Your Word

Good morning. We need to learn to choose our words carefully when we’re talking to God. He holds us accountable when we tell Him what we are going to for Him. Sometimes we make vows and promises to God because it sounds good, but we never think what’s it going to cost to keep our word to Him until after we’ve made the vow or promise. Just like we expect God to keep His promises to us, He expects us to keep our promises to Him. So, whatever we’ve promised Him, it’s time to make good on that promise. God don’t like liars. In fact, He said; a liar won’t even tarry in the sight of God. In other words, God doesn’t want us in His face if we’re lying to Him. If we can’t be in the face of God, that means we can’t be in His presence and if we can’t be in the presence of God, that means we are left uncovered. When we are left uncovered, it’s easy for us to be offered up to Satan and he will have his way with us. We cannot afford to be offered up to Satan. So again, let’s keep our promises and vows to the Lord.

Proverbs 20:25
Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost.

Let God Handle It

Good morning. When people wrong us, the natural thing for us to do is get them back. We want to plot and plan their demise. That’s the world’s way of handling problems. Children of God are supposed to handle their problems differently. We are supposed to go to our Father and tell Him all about it. After speaking with our Father, we are to wait for Him to act, no matter how long it takes. In doing so, we are putting our faith and trust in Him, and we are building character. We have to stop thinking like the world and thinking someone is getting away with hurting us. No one gets away with anything. God sees everything. In His timing, He will deal with the wrong doers and that includes His children.

Proverbs 20:22
Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the LORD to handle the matter.

It’s Go Time

Good morning. No work can get done if we’re always sleeping. We have to find balance in our lives for God, work, family, play, and sleeping. When we don’t have balance, we will do one thing more than the other. We can’t blame our lack of money, food and resources on anyone but ourselves if all we do is sleep. Laying around when we can and should be doing other things, let’s God know exactly where our priorities are.

Proverbs 20:13
If you love sleep, you will end in poverty. Keep your eyes open, and there will be plenty to eat!

Don’t Stop Learning

Good morning. Everyday we should be willing to learn something new. The day we stop wanting to learn, is the day we hinder our own growth. No matter how much knowledge we have, we don’t know everything. There is always someone else that is wiser, smarter and more knowledgeable than us. Don’t get stuck because you’re too stubborn learn more and grow.

Proverbs 19:27
If you stop listening to instruction, my child,
you will turn your back on knowledge.

Don’t Let Your Temper Cause You To Lose It All

Good morning. When we don’t control our tempers we become dangerous and out of control. There are many people in jail right now because they lost control. No doubt, someone helped them out or warned them about keeping their temper in check before it caused them to lose it all. No doubt, they didn’t listen and now they find themselves in a situation that only God can save them now. As a Christian, we shouldn’t want our minds to go to the left, that’s why we pray the scripture; “let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus.” The very moment we lose our temper is the very moment we lose our witness. The Bible declares we are without an excuse. We can’t say; the devil made me do it, when we serve an omnipotent God. We can’t say; the devil made me do it, when the Bible declares, I called on the Lord and He heard my cry. Let’s be for real and say; I wanted to sin so I sinned. We can’t expect people to continue to help us out of a sinful jam if we refuse to acknowledge our sins and seek the Lord for deliverance.

Proverbs 19:19
Hot-tempered people must pay the penalty. If you rescue them once, you will have to do it again.

Discipline Your Children

Good morning. Children are a blessing from the Lord. If we don’t train them up at home and discipline them, they will surely embarrass us in public. No matter how cute, gorgeous or handsome they may be, an undisciplined child is a disgrace. We do our children an injustice when we allow them to get away with everything. Children were never meant to rule their parents or run their parents households, and that is exactly what will happen if a child is not checked and corrected for their unruly behavior. Training starts at home, not when they get to school. Back in the day, our parents looked at you and you straightened up. If they had to speak twice, there were consequences. Our children need to know that there are consequences for bad behavior and if we don’t show them, then jail or hell will definitely show them.

Proverbs 19:18
Discipline your children while there is hope. Otherwise you will ruin their lives.

Don’t Miss Your Opportunity To Give To The Lord

Good morning. God see’s everything we do. He see’s when we give to the poor and he see’s when we act like they’re invisible. There’s no need in despising poor people, because it could be us and truth be told; it was some of us until God turned our situations around. Never forget that time and chance happens to us all. When God gives us an opportunity to bless the poor, do it. In actuality, he’s giving us a chance to bless Him and He will repay us. The seasoned saints use to say; you can’t beat God’s giving no matter how hard you try. Never miss an opportunity to give to the Lord.

Proverbs 19:17
If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD— and he will repay you!

Don’t Be Lazy

Good morning. There are no free lunches. Therefore, we have to get up and work. Getting a hand-up is alright, but looking for a handout because we’re too lazy to go out and work for it is wrong. People don’t go to work to pay for our laziness. They work to enjoy the fruits of their own labor. Being lazy will cause us to miss out on things naturally and cause us to miss out on what God has for us spiritually.

Proverbs 19:15
Lazy people sleep soundly,
but idleness leaves them hungry.
