We Have To Get Out Of Our Way, To Get In God’s Way

Good morning. If we lie to ourselves, we’ll lie to God. The Bible declares; a liar won’t even tarry in the sight of God. There will come a time in our lives when we will want to stop lying to ourselves. That’s when we will be ready to surrender our all to God and learn of his ways. We have to get out of our own way, to get in God’s way. For in His presence is the fullness of joy. In His word, is life. In His secret place, is shelter and safety.

Psalms 119:29
Keep me from lying to myself;
give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.

The Truth Will Set Us Free

Good morning. When we read the Bible, are we reading it just to say we read it? Or are we reading the Bible to find out about God’s truth and to fill our spirit? The Bible is our instruction manual on how to live this Christian journey. It lays out the do’s and don’t, the blessings and consequences, grace and mercy, and faith and love. It also gives us warnings. It’s up to us to search the Bible daily for answers along with praying to God. It’s up to us to keep asking God what he means when we don’t understand what we’ve read in the word. Whenever, we want the truth in the natural, we seek it out, we question individuals, we gather our evidence. In the spirit, we should be just as diligent. Seek the Lord, delve into the text, gather the biblical evidence. Then we will know the truth, and the truth will set us free.

Psalms 119:18
Open my eyes to see
the wonderful truths in your instructions.

Let’s Get Rid Of The Excuses

Good morning. Have you ever prayed and asked God; please don’t let me mess up today and disobey your word? Have you ever wanted to please God but was struggling within your flesh to do so? Paul declared; when I go to do good, evil is always present. Everyday we must strive to stand on the word of God. If we mess up, repent, get back up and back in line with the word. Our spirit is willing but our flesh is weak. We must let this flesh die daily and not feed its craving for sin. Our flesh does not control us, we control it. So, let’s get rid of all our excuses and get right with God.

Psalms 119:9-10
How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands.

Line Up With The Word

Good morning. There comes a point on this Christian journey that we have to live the word. Our actions and behavior has to line up with the word. When we say we are children of God, we should display some of his characteristics. We should look like him, talk like him and act like him. Growing up, many of us heard; “you act or look just like your momma or daddy”. We should be hearing the same thing when it comes to Christ. People should be telling us; we act like children of God. We walk like children of God. We talk like children of God. Let’s take an inventory of our lives and everything we’re lacking spiritually, let’s confess it to God, so that he can supply us with everything we need.

Psalms 119:5-6
Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees! Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.

You Can’t Steal My Joy

Good morning. When we maintain our integrity by not compromising our walk with the Lord, we will have real joy. As Christians we know God commands our obedience. Therefore, we shouldn’t make man more important than God. Sadly, many Christians rather obey man than God but look for God to bless them and not man. Man tries to steal our joy, peace and sanity. But, when we’re walking upright before the Lord, walking the path he has for us, obeying his word and doing the will of the father; man can’t steal the joy that God has given us.

Psalms 119:1-3
Joyful are people of integrity,
who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.

Rescued

Good morning. The enemy can do no more or no less than what God allows. If Satan is wreaking havoc in your life, know that he had to go to God to get permission first and God has given him his perimeters. We can shout the victory now, because it’s only a matter of time before God rescues us. We don’t have to walk around in fear or with hung down heads, for the Bible declares; lift up your heads oh ye gates and be ye lifted up ye everlasting doors and the king of glory shall come in, who is this king of glory, the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Psalms 118:13
My enemies did their best to kill me, but the LORD rescued me.

I Should Be Dead, But God

Good morning. Have you ever had an encounter with death? Been on death’s door, had a near death experience and you cried out to God? Did you rejoice when he saved you and spared your life? After the ordeal, did you go back to business as usual and forget that it was because of the Lord’s mercy that you were not consumed? For all of us that have been saved by the grace of God, we aught to not only say thank you, but our lives should reflect our gratitude. For those of us who know we should be dead, sleeping in our graves but God gave us another chance, our lives should reflect that it’s in Him that we live, move and have our being. We serve a God of another chance. Let’s show Him how much we appreciate Him by living a life pleasing to Him.

Psalms 116:4-6
Then I called on the name of the LORD: “Please, LORD, save me!” How kind the LORD is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours! The LORD protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and he saved me.

The Price Our Children Pay

Good morning. Our actions have a direct impact on our children. Whatever we do, we must ask ourselves; how will this reflect on the next generation. I know we’re grown and can’t no one tell us what to do, but there are consequences for everything. Our obedience to the Lord’s commands has a direct correlation to our children’s success; let sink in for a moment. The Bible declares; God will revisit the sins of the father down to the third and fourth generation. Let’s not have our children paying for our stupid mistakes. Obey the Lord. Serve the Lord. Then our children will be blessed and take after our ways.

Psalms 112:1-2
Praise the LORD!
How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed.

When We’re Lied On And Talked About

Good morning. Many of us have been in a position where people are out to get us for no reason. The more they speak lies about us, the more we wish God would just deal with them in a bad way. In the midst of the torment we receive at the hands of our enemies, we often wonder; why is God being silent, why is God not doing anything; surely he sees all of this. Never once do we stop and think that God is training us on how to deal with adversity. He’s training us on how to call upon him in trouble times and not take matters into our own hand. Being lied on and talked about doesn’t feel good. However, the people who are coming against us don’t realize the role they’re playing in our spiritual growth. So, we have to remain steadfast in the Lord and wait on him to deal with our enemies.

Psalms 109:1-3
O God, whom I praise, don’t stand silent and aloof while the wicked slander me and tell lies about me. They surround me with hateful words and fight against me for no reason.

Only God Can Fix It

Good morning. There are times when we can reach out to family and friends and their help is welcomed. Then there are times when we are in God situations and only God can help us. Whenever we find ourselves needing God’s help, we shouldn’t delay in calling upon him. We shouldn’t waste our time calling on people we know can’t help us. Many of us have been wondering why we’re still dealing with certain situations, it’s because we haven’t figured out that only God can solve the problem. Today is the day to hand the problem over to God. Today is the day to take the problem out of our hands, our families hands and our friends hands. We’ve already seen that none of us can fix it.

Psalms 108:12
Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless.
