Stop Longing For The Good Old Days

Good morning. Life has really changed for all of us in so many different ways. Yet, God has kept his word to us. He hasn’t left us nor forsaken us. God is still providing for us and keeping us. Simply put; God is still God. So we should stop saying I can’t wait until COVID-19 is over, I can wait until things go back to normal; that’s foolish talk. God keeps us moving and pushing forward, he doesn’t take us back to the past to correct the past. Paul declares we should press toward the mark of the high calling, not turn around and go back to the past. Therefore, let’s continue to seek God, push forward, and be ye steadfast, unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Ecclesiastes 7:10
Don’t long for “the good old days.” This is not wise.

Salvation Is A Gift

Good morning. Salvation is a gift from God. Whether or not we choose to accept the gift is up to us. None of us can brag or take credit for what God has done. We haven’t done anything to deserve God’s gift of salvation. We can’t work for salvation, we can’t pay for salvation; therefore, we need to stop acting like we are the doorkeepers to salvation and realize that God’s grace extends to anyone he pleases to give it to. And that salvation is given to anyone who believes on the Lord Jesus.

Ephesians 2:8-9
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Are You A Real Friend

Good morning. As people grow up and go to college or start the workforce they may move away from home. In doing so, they meet and develop friendships along the way and some of those friends become like family. We need to be mindful how we treat our friends because in the times of trouble those are the people we may have to call on instead of family. We should strive to be real friends because we all need someone to lean on; we all need someone to talk to and laugh with in the natural, we all need someone to celebrate the highs of life with and go through the valleys of life with. This journey wasn’t meant for us to walk alone. It was meant for us to walk in agreement together and bear one another burdens when the time comes.

Proverbs 27:10
Never abandon a friend—
either yours or your father’s.
When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.

Joy And Peace

Good morning. There’s joy in the Lord! The Bible declares we should always have joy in the Lord. That doesn’t mean that things will always go our way but it means we serve a God that can fix anything. Therefore, we don’t have to worry about anything, we just have to pray about everything. God already knows what we need and how we feel; he just wants to hear it from us. The Lord loves communing with us and when we take everything to the Lord in prayer he gives us peace that surpasses all understanding. The songwriter said; Oh what peace we often forfeit all because we don’t take it to the Lord in prayer. We are so fortunate that we can have joy and peace, and we don’t have to look no further than Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-7
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Don’t Stop What You’re Doing

Good morning. We know that we are living in some evil times and we are living in the last days. Nevertheless, we must continue in prayer. God never told us to stop serving him, to sell all of our stuff, quit our jobs and go into hiding; the Bible declares we are to work while it’s day, we are not to walk around in fear. We are to pray like never before. We are to show one another love. We are to share with others what we’ve been blessed with. We are to keep spreading the good news about Christ because it’s not his will that any shall perish.

1 Peter 4:7-8
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

Let Your Heart Rejoice In The Lord

Good morning. We should always keep a praise on our lips and a song in our hearts for the Lord. Our relationship with the Lord should excite us and make us want to talk about him to whoever will listen. No matter what we face in this life we should exult his name daily. Never stop seeking the Lord. Never stop trusting in the Lord. Being in the presence of God gives us peace, safety, assurance, and security; we can’t find this in no one or nothing else.

1 Chronicles 16:9-11
Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD. Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.

Don’t Take Grace For Granted

Good morning. We must be mindful that we don’t take God’s grace for granted. It’s great that when we do sin we can repent and get back in right standing with the Lord. However, we shouldn’t willingly sin knowing his grace will cover us, for we don’t know if we will have the opportunity to live to repent. We must obey God to the fullest and when we find ourselves in sin repent, get back up, and stand on the word. We should not allow people to hold our sins over our head and make us think we cannot go to God and ask for forgiveness, that’s a trick of Satan.

Romans 6:1-2
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Use Good Judgement When Helping Others Financially

Good morning. As much as we like people and love our family members we are not supposed to co-sign debt for them. If we’re going to bless them with some money that’s fine; if we’re going to loan them some money that’s fine too. However, if they can’t afford to purchase what they’re trying to purchase or their credit is bad we are not to put ourselves on the hook for them. God wants us to use wisdom in every situation. We cannot allow anyone to guilt us into co-signing loans for them, if we do we have used poor judgment, and are setting ourselves up for a fall.

Proverbs 17:18
It’s poor judgment to guarantee another person’s debt or put up security for a friend.

Don’t Mock The Poor

Good morning. It’s only by the grace of God that we have a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes on our backs. Just as surely as the Lord has blessed us he can take it all away. We should never get high-minded and think the tables can’t turn and we’re the one’s asking for a handout. Never look down on the poor. Never gloat at someone’s misfortune. We don’t know how and why a person is poor, living on the streets, or have the hardest time making it in life. We just need to show them the love of God. We need to be careful how we treat people who has less than us. Today that can have less and tomorrow we could be asking them to share their piece of the sidewalk.

Proverbs 17:5
Those who mock the poor insult their Maker; those who rejoice at the misfortune of others will be punished.

The Right Treasure

Good morning. Storing up treasures in heaven is not just about paying tithes, it’s also about total obedience to God. God is not just looking at what we do with our money he’s looking at how we live our lives. Are we fulfilling our purpose? Are we walking in our destiny? Are we being intentional about our relationship with God? We have to figure out what we treasure most; whether it be earthly treasures or heavenly treasures. Whatever we treasure most that’s what we fix our hearts on. Our prayers should be; Lord I only want to desire what you desire for my life – Lord I only want to treasure what you treasure. We must always remember one of these days all of this earthly stuff we value will pass away and only what we do for Christ will last.

Matthew 6:19-21
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
