Fix Your Eyes On What’s Important

Good morning. With so many things going on in the world and so many things around us that can easily distract us, we must remain focus. We must keep our eyes fixed on the Lord and remain steadfast, unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord. Daily we must keep our feet from straying into all kinds of evil. The Bible declares to watch as well as pray. We must be on the lookout for traps set to make us fall. Straight and narrow is the road that leads to our Father’s house, let’s not veer off it and find ourselves on a road to destruction.

Proverbs 4:25-27
Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

Our Public Image

Good morning. Being the life of the party is only good for our public image. It means nothing if God looks at us as dead. We need to deal with the reality of what’s deep in our hearts and come clean with God. Don’t get so caught up in your public image that you make hell your permanent dwelling place.

Revelation 3:1-6
The Message to the Church in Sardis “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Sardis. This is the message from the one who has the sevenfold Spirit of God and the seven stars: ” I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive—but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God. Go back to what you heard and believed at first; hold to it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief. “Yet there are some in the church in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes with evil. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.
“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.

Stay Humble

Good morning. Can someone give us a compliment without it going to our heads? Can someone acknowledge us, praise us for the works we’ve done, recognize our contributions and we stay humble? We should never let what others say about us give us the big-head. When they speak praises about us we should immediately give God all the glory because without him we wouldn’t be nothing. So, the next time you let words blow up your ego remember pride ends in humiliation and humility brings honor.

Proverbs 27:21
Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but a person is tested by being praised.

The Lord Is With Us

Good morning. There is no need to fret or fear for the Lord is with us. When the enemy tries to destroy us the Lord is with us. When unfavorable situations and circumstances arise in our lives the Lord is with us. Trials and tribulations help cultivate our maturity in the Lord. We wouldn’t seek the Lord or have a prayer life like we do if trials had never come our way. So, don’t get mad and think God doesn’t love you when you find yourself in a trial. Begin to ask the Lord what do you want me to learn? What are you pressing out of me? What are you placing inside of me? We should learn something from trials and tribulations and most importantly we should always remember the Lord is with us through it all.

Isaiah 43:2
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

Can You Deal With Adversity

Good morning. When adversity comes you will find out what’s really in a person. You will find out if their faith is as strong as they say it is or you will find out that the person has been all talk and has no faith or power. Adversity tests the character of a person and reveals truth. What do people see in us when adverse situations arise in our lives? Do they see a faith walker or an air talker? Do they see someone strong in the Lord? Or, do they see someone who has cowered to the enemy? Adversity can either strengthen you or weaken you; you decide how you will allow adversity to affect you.

Proverbs 24:10
If you fail under pressure,
your strength is too small.

Lord Change My Mind

Good morning. Now that we are in Christ we need a change of mind; our spirit is willing but our flesh is weak, that’s why when situations arise our mind wants to revert to our old nature before Christ. It is so important that we renew our mindsets daily to respond to life’s situations the way the Lord would have us to. Therefore, we must make it a point to commune with God daily, get in his presence daily, feed our mind and spirit with the word daily, and resist the devil and he’ll flee. A made up mind for Christ will keep us focused on this journey.

Ephesians 4:22-23
throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.

Don’t Let Anything Take God’s Place In Your Heart

Good morning. Who or what has taken our attention from God? We don’t pray, fast, or study the word like we should because we’re too busy entertaining something or someone that isn’t of God. Our objective should be to please God, live Holy, and be a light to this dark world. We can’t do that when we won’t separate ourselves from the very thing or person who’s captured our attention. The Bible declares Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? Let’s turn our hearts back to God.

1 John 5:21
Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

What Will It Take For You Betray Jesus

Good morning. What will it take for us to betray Jesus? Before we get all self-righteousness and say we would never betray Jesus; let’s stop the lie before it comes out of our mouth. The Bible declares that the religious leaders of Jesus’ day paid one of his disciples to betray him. We have betrayed Jesus by choosing fleshly desires over him. We have betrayed Jesus by getting connected to people he never intended us to be connected to. We have betrayed Jesus by being more concerned with money flowing through the church than souls being saved. We have betrayed Jesus by not communicating with him and only coming to him when it’s convenient for us. Yet, he still loves us and is beckoning for us to change our evil ways. We have to denounce our evil ways and turn from sin. John the Baptist preached one message and one message only; Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.

John 18:3-5
The leading priests and Pharisees had given Judas a contingent of Roman soldiers and Temple guards to accompany him. Now with blazing torches, lanterns, and weapons, they arrived at the olive grove. Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to meet them. “Who are you looking for?” he asked. “Jesus the Nazarene,” they replied. “I AM he,” Jesus said. (Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them.)

The Grace Of God

Good morning. The Bible declares that the Lord’s anger only last but for a moment. It’s in that moment that he shows us how fed up he is with us. It’s in that moment he tells us enough is enough and chastises us for turning away from him. God doesn’t delight in having to chastise us, however; he cant let us keep running wild in our sinful undisciplined ways. He has to deal with us accordingly for the Bible declares he loves those he chastises. God is so good that after the chastisement and our repentance he restores us. He just doesn’t leave us out there wondering, he brings us back in the ark of safety. He shows us his unfailing love. He shows us his grace and mercy.

Lamentations 3:31-33
For no one is abandoned
by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love. For he does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow.

When God Doesn’t Accept My Offering

Good morning. When we pray for God to bless us do we understand the cause and effect of what we’re asking for? God can bless anytime he wants to but most of the time he blesses us because of our obedience to him. When we disobey him, when we fail to hear his call and heed his call do we understand that same cause and effect application God applies to our life? Because we choose to do things our way in our own understanding; the effect of that is that God chooses not to accept our praise, our sacrifices, our offerings of thanksgiving, and our worship because we’re not following him or his word. So we have to make up our minds; do we want to be obedient and be blessed or deliberately be disobedient and keep doing what the Lord despise and suffer the consequences?

Isaiah 66:2-4
My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the LORD, have spoken! “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word. But those who choose their own ways— delighting in their detestable sins— will not have their offerings accepted. When such people sacrifice a bull, it is no more acceptable than a human sacrifice. When they sacrifice a lamb, it’s as though they had sacrificed a dog! When they bring an offering of grain, they might as well offer the blood of a pig. When they burn frankincense, it’s as if they had blessed an idol. I will send them great trouble— all the things they feared. For when I called, they did not answer. When I spoke, they did not listen. They deliberately sinned before my very eyes and chose to do what they know I despise.”
