Be Still

Good morning. Are you waiting on the Lord to act on your behalf? While waiting does it seem like your enemies are prospering and living a good life? Does it seem like God is taking his slow sweet time? Well keep waiting and don’t start murmuring and complaining. God will take care of our enemies and he will come and see about us. God knows just how much we can bear.

Psalms 37:7
Be still in the presence of the LORD,and wait patiently for him to act.Don’t worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes.

There Are No Shortcuts To God’s House

Good morning. Have you ever been traveling on the road or in a foreign country; and you found yourself lost and turned around? We could have been going in the right direction sooner but because of pride we didn’t want to let anyone know we were lost. Or perhaps we were very familiar with the lay of the land and thought we could take a shortcut and get there quicker by avoiding certain roads. We take this same approach when following directions to God’s house. The only problem is, there’s only one direction to God’s house and it must be followed to the “T”, there are no shortcuts or workarounds.

Matthew 7:13-14
“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

Stick With Your Assignment

Good morning. Every assignment from the Lord is not always glamorous. Sometimes our assignments come with a great deal of suffering and persecution. Nevertheless, we can’t abort our assignments because they make us feel uncomfortable. When we gave God our yes; that signified that we were all in. Not my will but your will be done Lord.

Acts 20:22-24
“And now I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem. I don’t know what awaits me, except that the Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead. But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

We Have To Teach Our Children About History

Good morning. It is so important that we teach our children about history. Not just what happened in the world, but what happened in our families. We must tell them the processes we took to overcome adversity. We must tell them how we sought the Lord and he delivered us. When we neglect to teach our children about the past we are complicit in raising an ignorant generation.

Psalms 78:2-4
for I will speak to you in a parable. I will teach you hidden lessons from our past—
stories we have heard and known, stories our ancestors handed down to us. We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the LORD, about his power and his mighty wonders.

Trouble

Good morning. At some point in our lives we’ve all experienced trouble. Right now the world is experiencing trouble. When trouble comes we can find peace in God because our troubles didn’t catch him by surprise. In fact he told us trouble would come, but not to worry because he’s overcome the world. So, we can declare today we will have peace in our minds and spirit no matter what.

John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

God Does Not Have An Open Door Policy

Good morning. Contrary to popular belief God does not have an open door policy. I know we’ve all heard people say; I can go to God myself. Perhaps we may have said it ourselves. In either case we’re wrong. No one gets to God without going through Jesus. The Bible declares if anyone enter into the sheepfold not through the gate then they are robbers and thieves. Jesus is the gate to the sheepfold. When we get a relationship with Jesus, we will have a relationship with God.

John 14:6
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

We Have So Much To Answer For

Good morning. When people we know do wrong it’s wrong for us to acquit them and let them get away with wrong-doing. It’s equally wrong for us to condemn people we know didn’t do anything wrong. God sits high and looks low and sees everything. He doesn’t like it when we do such things. We have so much to answer for.

Proverbs 17:15
Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent— both are detestable to the LORD.

Satan’s Request, Jesus Prayers

Good morning. Nothing can happen to us without God’s permission. Satan literally has to get permission from God to reek havoc in our lives. The good news is even if he gets permission he can only do so much, he can do no more or less than what God allows. Jesus our intercessor prays for us and after we’ve repented and turned back to God; we are charged with going to show our fellow man/woman the right way to take.

Luke 22:31-32
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.”

Sin Affects Our Whole Life

Good morning. Keeping silent about our sin doesn’t make it go away. In fact, we cannot even enjoy life because of the guilt that weighs us down from trying to hide the sin in our lives. Sometimes the silence can affect our physical health, our emotional health, and definitely our spiritual health. The best thing we can do is confess our sins to God. He is faithful and just to forgive us.

Psalms 32:3-5
When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.
Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the LORD.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.

There’s A Hiding Place In God

Good morning. God’s protection is everything. When we feel like no one cares, and everyone is out to get us; we can take refuge in God. When attacks come there’s a hiding place in God. When the enemy comes in like a flood the spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him.

Psalms 16:1
Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge.
