Be Careful How You Cater To Different Social-Economic Classes

Good morning. Choosing to cater to rich people over poor people is wrong in the sight of the Lord. Poor people know they have a need for Jesus, while rich people only trust in their riches. Besides rich people have no problem suing us in court although we bend over backwards to cater to them and meet their demands. We have to be careful how we treat different economic classes. I’d rather be in the presence of someone who has a relationship with the Lord and can’t buy anything than be in the presence of someone that can give me the world but don’t have a soul.

James 2:5-7
Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him? But you dishonor the poor! Isn’t it the rich who oppress you and drag you into court? Aren’t they the ones who slander Jesus Christ, whose noble name you bear?

We Don’t Know The Mind Of Christ

Good morning. It’s dangerous to think we know the mind of God. When we operate in a notion that we know when, where, and how God’s going to move it put us in dangerous territory. Then we began to make people think we’re God’s right-hand man or woman. The Bible tells us to walk by faith. The Bible declares; now faith is the substance of things hope for the evidence of things not seen. If we knew the mind of God we wouldn’t have to hope for anything or have faith. We need to be careful how we portray our relationship with the Lord.

Isaiah 55:8-9
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

Motives For Success

Good morning. What motivates us to be successful? Is it our children? Is it to get out of our current living conditions? Perhaps it may be the bills that keep piling up. Or, is it that we’re looking at what our neighbors have and we want their lifestyle? Being successful is not a sin, but we need to check our motives as to why we strive so hard for success.

Ecclesiastes 4:4
Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.

Keep Your Heart Pure

Good morning. Just because we think we’re and we can find some justification for being right doesn’t mean we’re right. It’s the Lord that knows our hearts intent. It’s the Lord that searches our hearts. We can convince other the people that we may be right and we can deceive ourselves into believing we’re right. But after God inspects our heart the truth will come out. Let’s keep our hearts pure before the Lord.

Proverbs 21:2
People may be right in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their heart.

God Is Not Like Man

Good morning. God is not like man. God is patient with us. He’s not easily angered. He loves us unconditionally and he’s willing to give us another chance. No matter how bad we’ve messed up if we repent he will forgive us. The goodness of the Lord is like none other. Let’s stop listening to people when they tell us God acts like man acts.

Psalms 145:8-9
The LORD is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.

May We Never Forget

Good morning. May we hold fast to the word of God and never forget that one day Jesus will return. Just because other people are deliberately sinning and have forgotten the word of God doesn’t mean the word isn’t true. Remember we will give an account for all we’ve done.

2 Peter 3:3-4
Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

Get A Job

Good morning. The Bible declares the poor will be with us always. However, some people have placed themselves in poverty by refusing to work. It’s not our responsibility to pick up the slack for someone who is able-bodied but refuse to go out and get a job. There are people walking around fat-and-full but have no job because of their own doing. Now it’s one thing to have a job and then get laid-off due to no fault of your own. But, it’s another thing to just refuse to work for whatever reason. Work was essential in the Bible even Jesus had a job. So, if Jesus had to work we have no excuse.

2 Thessalonians 3:10
Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.”

The Lord Is My Shepherd

Good morning. God is everything we need him to be. David declared the Lord is my Shepherd. A shepherd protects, provides, and guides. God has protected us from dangers seen and unseen. When the enemy comes in like a flood he lifts up a standard against him. He’s provided for us and made ways out of no way. He’s supplied all of our needs and has been gracious to give us some of our wants. God leads us on a path of righteousness. He leads us where he wants us because he knows the plans he has for us. We can trust God with every aspect of our lives for he knows what’s best for us.

Psalms 23:1
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Get Up And Pray

Good morning. The declares men ought to always pray. When it’s time for us to do a work for the Lord distractions are sure to come. We get tired and sleepy, the kids need our attention, the phone rings, our spouses need us, etc., We have to learn how to push through the distractions and pray. Prayer keeps us in communication with the Lord. Prayer gives us power. Prayer keeps us in the face of the Lord. Satan doesn’t want us praying because he knows if we fail to pray then we are subject to fall into all sorts of temptations.

Luke 22:46
“Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”

God’s Mercy

Good morning. We all have a past and we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Let us never forget that it’s by God’s grace and mercy that we didn’t die in our sins. God’s mercy protected us from being consumed by the enemy. Therefore, let us keep praying for our unsaved loved ones in hopes that one day they will recognize that Jesus died for their sins too.

Titus 3:3-6
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
