Effective Prayer

Good morning today is the 21st day of the Daniel Fast our last day. Our focus today is EFFECTIVE PRAYER

The Lord tells us to ask, to seek, and to knock. When we do these three things the Lord says we will receive, we will find, and the door will be open to us. No doubt many of us ask, but do we seek and knock? Often times we pray that God opens doors for us but do we tell God I’m knocking Lord? The next time we pray let’s approach prayer the way Lord has laid it out for us and then let’s see the results.

Matthew 7:7-11

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

True & False Disciples

Good morning today is the 20th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is True & False Disciples.

One of these days our relationship with Jesus will be exposed and that’s going to tell the true story. Did you know you can go to church every Sunday, and bible study every Wednesday, and work in the church and still go to hell? Our relationship with God doesn’t mean we just talk to him and pray. It also includes a behavior change. If we are in relationship with the Lord our behavior and character should line up with the word. This is a daily walk and we have to take inventory daily. Our ultimate goal is not to miss heaven.

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Sowing & Reaping

Good morning today is the 19th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is Sowing & Reaping

Do we ever take into account the seeds we sow in life? Do we sow seeds only to feed our fleshy desires or do we sow seeds of advancing the kingdom of God? In today’s society all we hear is people saying live your best life and do you. All the while living their best life doesn’t include Jesus. As Christians we have to always keep in mind that we are living this life to live again. In our flesh is no good thing so we have to pursue the things of the spirit. We have to stop deceiving ourselves thinking God is pleased with everything we do. He see’s all and knows all. Look to Jesus and not world. When we look to the world we become discouraged and weary. The world may seem like they are living it up and having fun; but know that every knee shall now and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Galatians 6:7-10 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Laziness

Good morning today is the 18th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is LAZINESS.

As Christians we are to be workers in the natural and the spirit realm. Laziness should not be named among us. When we don’t work, we don’t have a sense of purpose and we become idle. When we don’t work, we find ourselves in conversations gossiping about everything and everybody. If we have all this energy to sit around and gossip, then we need to use that energy to work. We should not be walking around fat and full if we refuse to work and the Bible says to leave those folks alone who doesn’t want to work.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-12 (TLB) Now here is a command, dear brothers, given in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ by his authority: Stay away from any Christian who spends his days in laziness and does not follow the ideal of hard work we set up for you. For you well know that you ought to follow our example: you never saw us loafing; we never accepted food from anyone without buying it; we worked hard day and night for the money we needed to live on, in order that we would not be a burden to any of you. It wasn’t that we didn’t have the right to ask you to feed us, but we wanted to show you firsthand how you should work for your living. Even while we were still there with you, we gave you this rule: “He who does not work shall not eat.” Yet we hear that some of you are living in laziness, refusing to work, and wasting your time in gossiping. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we appeal to such people—we command them—to quiet down, get to work, and earn their own living.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Don’t Worry

Good morning today is the 17th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is Don’t Worry.

The Bible tells us not to worry about anything but pray about everything. Whenever we worry we’re saying; that we don’t trust God. However, when we pray we’re saying; Lord I give it all to you because you can handle it. So, don’t worry but seek God. Seek his directions and instructions. He knows all about it, he’s just waiting on us to trust him enough to handle it. Besides worrying doesn’t solve any of our problems.

Matthew 6:25-34

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Encourage Yourself

Good morning today is the 16th day of the Daniel Fast and our Focus today is Encouraging Yourself.

In life it’s good to have people who believe in you and believe in your dreams. However, if we be realistic we know this doesn’t always happen. It’s in these moments that we have to encourage ourselves and believe in ourselves even when everyone around us is laughing, doubting, and mocking us. If you don’t learn how to encourage yourself then your dreams and beliefs with be predicated on someone else’s belief in you. We should never give anyone power over our hopes and dreams.

1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Watch what you say

Good morning today is the 15th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus today is Watching What We Say

Some people talk only if they have something to say. Other people talk just to hear themselves. We must be careful with what we say because we are going to have to give an account for the very words we speak out of our mouth. Some of us are careful about what we put on social media because it could have a profound affect on our jobs. But we need to watch what we say because it can have a profound affect on us at judgment day.

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Bitterness

Good morning today is the 14th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is Bitterness.

Bitterness in a person means they desire to make someone else suffer. As Christians the Bible tells us to put away bitterness and forgive. I know you think you may feel justified in being bitter and angry but God wants us to do the opposite. When we are not the ones going through the hurt and hardship we often tell our friends “what would Jesus do”, but when we find ourselves experiencing hurt and hardship we forget about this and want to react worldly. This is not God’s way of doing things.

Ephesians 4:31-32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Being Alert

Good morning today is the 13th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is Being Alert

In the Army every soldier at some point and time in their career will experience guard duty. While on guard duty these soldiers are charged with protecting the other soldiers inside the wire. They must have a watchful eye and let no one inside the wire that has no business being there. As Christians the Bible tells us that sin lies at the door desiring to have us. When we pull guard duty over our spirit we are alert to temptations of the enemy. We don’t fall for his tricks. We’re prayerful and have a spirit of repentance. However, when we let our guard down sin pounces on us and we find ourselves wrapped up and tied up sin. On the battle field we always tell the soldiers “STAY ALERT STAY ALIVE”. That rings true today. On this Christian battlefield we need to stay alert so that we don’t fall into divers temptations.

Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Self-Control

Good morning today is the 12th day of the Daniel Fast and our focus is SELF-CONTROL

As Christians we should never have the testimony ” the devil made me do it”. We know right from wrong. We know how to control our own behavior. The more we spend time with God by being in the Word, by praying and fasting; the easier it is for us to want to do right and please the Lord. Stop letting sin have control in your life. We can control our mouths by thinking before we speak. We can control this flesh by putting it under the subjection of God. If we’re single, no sex with anyone. If we’re married, only sex with our spouse. Living saved isn’t hard. We just make excuses to justify our sins and to make ourselves feel good; but if we sow to flesh then we will reap of the flesh, if we sow to the spirit then we will reap of the spirit.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
