My daughter has been having trouble in her math class. One of my older daughters who’s a math whiz has been helping her and when she turns her work in, the teacher still gives her an F. The teacher is an Engineer by trade and expects my 11yr old daughter to think like him. Finally after emailing the teacher back and forth I went up to the school, I spoke with the principal, then I spoke with the teacher. After speaking with the teacher I decided to sit in the math class as a student for my daughters class period. My head was throbbing when I left out of there. Once I saw how chaotic the teacher was teaching, I got him and the principal together and we sat down to talk. I looked this teacher straight in the face and told him my daughter will not get an F out of your class and I need you to give me step-by-step directions on how to do this math. He was shocked and stated; most parents just say I hope my child graduates, thank you for not giving up. I told him giving up is not an option, I just need you teach to her level and we will do our part by getting the work done. If I’ve ever had a reason to pray it was now. In the end God prevailed and my daughter is walking away with a C-. Parents if children are not getting good grades in school, it’s not always the case of them not doing the work, you may need to speak to the teacher and see where the struggle is. My daughter wasn’t only struggling but she’s 11yrs old, stands 5’9 and she intimidates the teacher with her personality, he thought he was going to fail her, but God.

Many of us act like we have it going on. Truth be told, if it had not been for the Lord on our side where would we be. If God never opened the door we wouldn’t be in the place we’re at now. We wouldn’t have the things we have now, but God. So, when someone gives you a compliment or makes a comment about your job, house, car, finances, clothes, etc…let them know it’s all God. I didn’t do anything to deserve it, he just decided to bless me. It wasn’t my education, he just decided to bless me. It wasn’t who I know, God just decided to bless me. Because when we start fronting and acting like we did it all by ourselves, we must remember the Lord gives and the Lord takes away.

You have to be wise enough to know when to speak and when to be quiet. Stop having OTM; on the mind, out the mouth. You don’t have to say something about everything, some things you can just be silent about and start praying within yourself. It doesn’t make you look weak or like a fool. It actually shows you have restraint and can be calm no matter what is said. Flying off the deep end makes you look foolish, and if you’re a Christian you’ve just blown your witness and who wants to hear from a foolish Christian.

Thank a Veteran on today for their service to this country. Some were drafted and some volunteered. Many have gone to war and died for your freedoms. You will never know their names or the sacrifices they’ve made for you to walk around and enjoy the freedoms you have. Many have deployed numerous times leaving wives, husbands, children, mothers, fathers, and siblings behind. Many come home broken, dismantled, mentally ill, and they never complain. You can never imagine the things they saw in war, the smells they’ve smelt, and the horrors they’ve had to endure. So when you see a Veteran, thank a Veteran, hug a Veteran, treat a Veteran to a meal; for your freedom comes at a heavy cost that only a Veteran is willing to pay.

No matter what God is still in control. God sees all and knows all; he’s not deaf or blind. Trust in the Lord and not in man.

Many times we don’t have to talk. If we just be quiet and listen to other people talk they will give us all the information we’re looking for. Many times they will give us more information than what we need. We pray, and as soon as we get done we just leave God. We don’t stay and listen for his response. When we learn to stay and listen, it will save us so much time and energy trying to figure out how to solve our issues and problems.

Many times we see loved ones in need and we want to run to their rescue. Did God tell us to do that? Sometimes we can get in God’s way. He’s trying to teach the person a lesson, but here we come sticking our nose where it doesn’t belong. Stop letting people depend on you and let them depend on God. They need to know him for themselves.

Nowadays people think they can treat you any way they please. They believe if they make more money than you or live a better life than you, then you’re less than; not realizing you’re one of God’s children too. What they don’t know is that they will reap what they sow. When we treat people less than or we oppress other people, it’s just a matter of time before God flips the script. It’s just a matter of time before the janitor you’ve looked down on, owns the company. It’s just a matter of time before the boys in the hood selling drugs, use their knowledge and open a legitimate company and restore the neighborhood. It’s just a matter of time before the young lady that’s selling her body come into contact with a man that loves her, and that will look beyond her faults and see her needs. So before we start treating people less than, know it’s just a matter of time.

Do people get on your nerves and you wish they would stop talking to you? They don’t get the hint that you are fed up, and they go on and on. It’s funny how we feel this way with people but not with the devil. We tend to listen to every lie he says. We can tell the devil to stop talking to us by using the word of God. When we use the word we are resisting the devil. Resist the devil and he will flee.
