You Can’t Change Me

I love to cook and bake. I cook everyday and I often call people to come taste or get a plate. Many times if someone say they have a taste for something I will cook it for them. Well one lady I know asked  me why are you always doing something for people? Why are you always coming out of your pocket to cook for people? I had to let her know that’s what I do. God has blessed me to be a blessing to someone else. Besides, she doesn’t complain when she gets a plate. My daughter happened to be present during our conversation and I had to explain to my daughter, this lady is not going to change my mind about blessing people. The Lord has given me a gift of feeding people and I’m going to use it to the best of my ability. Never let anyone talk you out of blessing someone else. Recognize that person doesn’t know the love of God, because God is a giver.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

If I Only Had More

How many of us often say; if I only had more money everything would be alright? If I only had a better paying job, I could pay my bills? The truth is even with more money and a better paying job, many of us would still be in the same situation. I say this because we have not been good stewards over the money God has given us. We allow our spending habits to be out of control with the little we do have, so imagine if we had much. There is nothing more with wanting more money or a better paying job. It’s when we are blessed with these things we need to be better stewards of our resources. I really don’t understand God’s math but I like it. All he asks me for is 10%. When I give not pay my 10%, he opens up a window for me and pours me and my kids out a blessing that we don’t have room enough to receive. So it’s not about the more, it’s about doing with what you already have. If you be faithful over a few things, he’ll make you ruler over many.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I Still Got Enough

Have you ever taken an inventory of your stuff and your life? After looking at everything; what you have, what you don’t have, did you come to the conclusion “I still got enough”? No matter what you have or don’t have, if you have Jesus you have more than enough.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Don’t Give Up

Family members can test your patience like no one else. They know what buttons to push and when to push them. It’s in those times we have no problems washing our hands of them and forgetting they even exist. However, we can’t give up on them. God never gave up on us and we did far worse to his Son than any family member could ever do to us.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I’m Nothing Without You

When was the last time you told God I’m nothing without you? When was the last time you realized that it’s only in God that you live, move, and have your being? One thing we all need to know is, everything we have is because of God. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. So if you think you’re this self-made man or woman, think again. If God decided to take everything you have and just leave you with your breath that’s still enough.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Turning Around

Hold on to God’s unchanging hand. He’s turning your situation around. You may not see it yet, but keep watching. God is not a man that he shall lie.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Job Is Not Finished

Today the movers were at the house packing us out. It was time for them to break for lunch so they stopped working. My grandson became concerned, and said wait where are they going; they haven’t finished the job yet. I explained to him that the workers are coming back, because they can’t leave for good until they finish the job. He was not happy with that. He waited for their return before he put his mind at ease. Do we realize that people are depending on us when they ask  us to do a job? Whenever we are on assignment we must work as though we are working for the Lord. When we take our breaks we need to return from our breaks on time and finish the job.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

There’s More Than One Side To The Story

Here is an excerpt from my book The Lord Is Speaking, but You Might Not Like What He’s Saying

“Many of us have made situations worse because we talk too much and we talk out of turn. We don’t know the whole story, and so we tell the part that we know, not knowing how detrimental it will be to the people involved. Even if you know the whole story, do you know the whole outcome? So be quiet and let God work.” Let’s pray about it:

“Lord, I talk too much; I stir up things without knowing the full story. I have hurt people along the way having half the story. Lord, train me to be quiet and not speak out of turn especially if what I say will cause harm. Forgive me for the harm I’ve already caused. Lord, with your help, I know I can be a better person and serve you to the fullest, in Jesus’s name, amen.”

See It Through

If your plans are not working, don’t stop working it see it through. Things may not work when you first start, but don’t be so quick to give up. If you know God gave you the plan, gave you the vision or gave you the idea; he will make sure you succeed. He just wants you to see what he’s placed inside of you.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
