“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. (Matthew 25:1-4)
Are our lamps prepared for us to meet the bridegroom? Do we consider ourselves to be like the wise virgins or the foolish virgins? Will we run out of praise for God before he calls us home, or shall his praise continually be in our mouth? Are we only going to bless the Lord and tell of his goodness when things are going well, or will we bless the Lord at all times, whether times are good, bad, happy, sad, disastrous, etc.? Do we acknowledge who God is when things are well in our lives, or do we wait for the midnight season in our lives to seek God? We have to stop living off other people’s oil and stop thinking that other people’s oil is going to get us to heaven; in other words, people can pray for us but they can’t pray us into heaven. We have to develop a personal relationship with the Master and run on to see what the end will be.
Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
