I was trying to open something for my grandson and I was struggling. He said; mom you need more power. I said; what kind of power do I need, he replied that Holy Ghost Power. I said really, is that what I need. When Jesus left us, he left us with the Holy Spirit. He dwells on the inside of us. We need to learn how to ask the Holy Spirit to give us the power we need to endure whatever it is we face. When a five year old can recognize I need the Holy Ghost Power, he just may have a point.

We’re always asking God to do something for us, but what have we done for God? Have we made his name a reproach? Have we used his name in vain? Have we let our light shine for him? We need to inventory our lives and see what we do on a constant basis for God.

When the only answer society has is to kill, bomb and murder each other, we have the wrong answer. When our only answer is to go off on each other and curse each other out, we’ve got the wrong answer. When we denounce God and don’t believe in Jesus, let alone believe that Jesus is coming back; we’ve got the wrong answer. Seek the Lord while he may be found. That’s the only answer.

In two months I’ll be leaving my current job headed to a new job. My boss has not found a replacement for me yet and my position is a critical position. People keep asking me how are they going to survive without you? I quickly tell them I hope the next person does far more and far better than I’ve done. It took a lot to build the program God allowed me to build and I don’t want to see it destroyed, I want to see it made better. Jesus did great works while he was in the earth and he said greater works shall we do. If you think your job can’t survive without you, die. I promise you they will be just fine. So never get the big head and think the company rises and falls on you. I don’t care how good of an employee you are. We are all expendable, so have the right attitude when coming into the job and when leaving it.

I talk to so many people who complain about the amount of money they make on their job. Many tell me their job doesn’t make any money. So I ask them; do you work for free? If so, then you’re a volunteer, and how is it that you go and volunteer for eight or more hours a day when you can be looking for a job that pays money? This makes them mad when I ask them this question, but it needs to be said. So many people are looking for a job, and if you are blessed to have a job that gives you a paycheck and benefits why are you complaining? When you interviewed for the job they told you how much they pay, not only did you say ok; you begged God to give you the job. Now that you have the job, you thought by some miracle they would just increase the pay now that they’ve hired you. It doesn’t work that way. If you’re not happy with your job and it’s pay, quit. If you don’t quit or cannot afford to quit, stop complaining and be a better steward over the finances God has allowed you to receive. It’s not about how much money you make. It’s about how you spend the money that you make. Everyone wants to be prosperous. Being prosperous doesn’t mean being rich, it means having more money than bills. If you can lessen your bills and have more check than bills, then you’re prosperous.

The other day I watched my friends 4yr old son when he got out of school. My grandson who’s 5yrs old wanted to know why this little boy had to come to our house. After explaining to him that the boy’s mother had to work he was fine. However, once we got home and my grandson went into his daily routine of eating and then watching a program on tv, he soon became agitated. The little boy I was watching was pinging off the walls. He wouldn’t sit still for more than a few minutes at a time. My grandson looked at me and said; this is why I don’t like little kids. I replied to my grandson; you’re a little kid. He said yeah but I don’t act like that. He couldn’t wait for the little boy to leave. Many of us are like my grandson. If someone doesn’t act the way we want them to act, we want them out of our presence. We don’t want to have any dealings with them. We should be thankful that God is not like that. He welcomes us in his presence. He knows how we act and he still wants us around. People may not like you but God loves you.

I love to cook and I cook everyday but until two weeks ago I didn’t know how to bake. I set on the edge of my bed and I prayed; Lord teach me how to bake chocolate chip cookies. That same day, I went and bought all of the ingredients and followed a recipe I found, and the cookies came out like they were fresh from the bakery. Today, I made zucchini lemon bread from scratch and my kids and friends couldn’t get enough of it. When we pray we think we have to pray for big things. The bible says; cast all your cares upon me. Now that I’m able to bake I’m a double threat in the kitchen and to my waistline.

It’s only a matter of time before Jesus comes back or you die first. With the time that you have what are you going to do with it? Are you going to keep complaining about everything you don’t have or are you going to start getting your life right? Live everyday like Jesus is calling you home today and you won’t have time to complain. It’s really only a matter of time.

When we get back to the basic principles of following God we won’t fall for people’s schemes and ism’s. God taught us to fast and pray. He didn’t teach us to hold auctions in the church. Give me the 100, 500, 1000 dollar line. That’s foolishness from the pit of hell.  He didn’t tell us we need a miracle cloth or miracle water. He said fast and pray, and when you pray pray believing you will receive. Stop relying on the preacher to give you a word and get in the word for yourself. You don’t need a title for God to talk to you.

Do you stay with a man that beats you because he pays all of the bills, or do you leave and try to survive on your own? Do you shun your kids to be with a man that’s not their father, or do you let the man know you’re a package deal? Do leave a woman that continues to cheat on you and disrespect you, or do you stay because you have children together? Do you go to hell because you love sin so much, or do you decide enough is enough and it’s time to give your life to the Lord and gain eternal life? Only you can decide what choice to make. Make it count for good.
