Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there, especially my mom. Me and my sisters have the coolest, smoothest, most loving mom alive. We know what it’s like for people to be jealous of us because our mom is so cool. We know other people kids  and grandkids are jealous of our kids and grandkids because they have the coolest grandmother/great grandmother  this side of heaven. My mother loves the Lord and loves her family. My mother’s favorite saying is ” I’m not always right, but I’m never wrong”.  The only way I can put it is; my mom is simply the best.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing. 

God has given each and every one of us a gift and a talent. However, many of us don’t use what God gave us. When we see people using their gifts and talents we tend to say; look at them, they are show off’s. We shouldn’t get upset with them for using what they’ve been given. When I wake up in the morning, I thank God for showing off. I say; Lord look at you showing off waking up me and all these people today. When I stand up to walk and comb my hair, I say; Lord you showing off allowing me to have the activity of my limbs. Since we are made in the image and likeness of God, we are supposed to show off what our father has placed inside of us. So show off today, just don’t show out.

Have you ever looked at the situation you’re in and thought; it doesn’t have to be this way? Did you make up in your mind that you were going to change something to make the situation better? Well, God is saying the same thing. It doesn’t have to be like this. He gave his only begotten son so that we won’t go to hell. He said cast all of our cares on him. He said we have not because we ask not. In other words, we can change our lives, just by giving our lives to Jesus, and taking him at his word.

When I think about where God has brought me from and his goodness, my soul gets happy. He’s brought me a long way from Eden Green, the Brown Houses, the Gardens, Golden Gates, the South Side of Chicago. He’s brought me from the lowest of low to a place he planned for me. Where would we be without God. When I was lost in sin, he told the enemy you can’t have that one. I’m so grateful. I can just shout right now, because he didn’t have to do it but he did. When you think of the goodness of God how do you really feel?

People on your job may not like you at all, but work so hard and know every aspect of your job that when you take a day off; they can’t wait for you to come back. You may get on people’s nerves at the church, but praise God with all your might and work diligently with your hands; that when you miss a few Sunday’s they can’t wait for you to return. Treat your kids so good and cook for them everyday, that when they go away; or you have to go away on business they’re standing at the door anticipating your arrival. Jesus went away and sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us. When we don’t feel his presence we should be searching for him with all diligence. We know when we don’t have the presence of God with us, because things just don’t go well. We need to stop, pray, and repent and ask the Holy Spirit to take up residence in us again.

We all have family members that are hard to love. They get on our last nerves, and no matter how hard you try to be nice they take you there. We shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking that we’re not hard to love as well. Can we imagine that Jesus laid his life down for us, gives us conditional love, and yet; we throw in his face everything we don’t have and what he hasn’t done for us. Hard to love people? Let’s take a look in the mirror.

This is the day that the Lord has made and so we will bless the name of the Lord today. We will not complain today. We will be grateful for everything. Things could be worse than what they are so we will magnify the Lord for his goodness and and his mercy. We will love on the Lord today. Just bless his holy name.
