Happy Anniversary

Today marks the second year that I’ve been blogging. I must say; I thought it would get old and that I would have nothing fresh to say. However, when I seek God he always gives me something to say. I just want to thank everyone who reads my blog and leave comments. I know everyone doesn’t always agree with what I write and that’s fine, because we all have our own opinions and convictions. I’m just grateful and thankful that God allows me to be his mouth piece and spread the gospel. So here’s to another year of blogging and another year of giving people something to think about.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Be Kind

Depression and suicide are real. Many people have asked me to pray for them for depression and life, because they feel like they’re going to die. It’s not just adults that come to me, but children also. We need to learn to be kind to one another because we don’t know what someone else is dealing with. We don’t know if today they are deciding to kill themselves, but one kind word from you may make them want to live another day. Today, slow down and take some time to listen a little more to someone and show kindness.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

When God Opens The Door

When God opens the door we should not hesitate to run through it. We should not allow negative people around us at this time, because they will try their best to talk us into closing the door. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy, because we try to talk ourselves into closing the door. We say things like; I’m not worthy, why does God want to bless me, people are going to find out about my past, somebody else is so much better than me, etc. I understand God likes to use and bless messed up people. So since I’m messed up; Lord open as many doors as you like.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Where Was God

When calamity strikes people are quick to say; where was God. Funny how they never ask that when things are going well. Somehow, people have this notion that God only allows good things to happen. Either they don’t read the bible or they’re living in utopia. Unfortunately, it takes calamity to bring us in line with God. We are just like the children of Israel. When they got out of line, God allowed calamity to happen and they turned back to him. Well how much calamity has to keep happening before we turn back to God? Our young black boys are getting killed daily, people have no respect for the elderly, wars are popping up all over the world, police are getting away with murder, mothers are choosing men over their kids, same sex marriage is all over the land, shall I continue?

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Home

My mother often tells me that my kids have no roots, because I move around a lot for my job. My kids can only tell people where they were born. They cannot give people one specific place where they were raised; for they have been raised all over the world. When I think about that, I would like to say; I’m preparing them to not be attached to this life because this world is not our home. Many of us are so attached to what this world has to offer, that we refuse to see what God has to offer. Many of us pay rent or mortgage and are afraid to move from where we’re at because we can afford it, when Jesus says; in his father’s house there are many mansions. Paid Mansion vs. Rent/Mortgage payment? Don’t get so used to this home that you don’t even envision yourself in your home on high with the Father.

Is Tomorrow Far Away

My grandson and I were talking and he asked; is tomorrow far away. I said; it depends on who you ask. If someone needs money today, then tomorrow is too far away. If someone hasn’t accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, then tomorrow may be too soon. All I know is; tomorrow is coming whether we’re dead or alive.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

God’s Got It

Stop worrying about your situation, God’s got it. Stop losing sleep at night about your problems, God’s got it. God is not like man, if he said it; you can believe it and his word won’t return unto him void.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Excited About God

Today my church was invited to a celebration of Black History with a Japanese church. We praised God so hard and radical it was electrifying. I think Americans play with God too much and take him for granted. This is the second country I’ve been to and have experienced a move of God like never before. The Japanese came in ready to worship, they didn’t need no pumping or priming; when they said the name Jesus the church went crazy. The last time I saw something like this was when I was in Afghanistan. The church was locked and we couldn’t get in, but the people wanted to praise God, so they took the hinges off the door so we could get into the church. We need to get that same hunger and thirst for God, and not be afraid of whose looking at us while we praise God. Where has our excitement gone for God? Since when did praising God become a burden and not an experience? Since when did coming to the sanctuary become an ordinary thing? When an where did we lose our fervor for God? We can only answer these questions for ourselves as individuals.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I Don’t Want That Love

My grandson and I were talking and I told him my son loves him. He said; ugh, I don’t want that love, love is between a boy  and a girl. I said; that’s romantic love, but he loves you because you all are relatives. How many of us don’t want to love our relatives or love those that despitfully use us? How many of us want God to love us unconditionally but we have conditional love? Just like my 4yr old grandson only wants love from me; are we not showing the love of Jesus because of who the person is we have to love? God doesn’t pick and choose whom he loves. John 3:16 says; for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believed in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. That’s the love we need, we long for, and should have for our fellow sisters and brothers whether or not we’re related.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Life

Is life really that bad or are you really that dramatic? If life is so bad for you, are you ready to die? Are you ready to stand before the judgment seat of God? Are you ready to give an account for every deed done in your body? If not, then I suggest you stop saying life is just so bad. You can say; this is the day that the Lord has made, I  will rejoice and be glad in it.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
