We know that around Thanksgiving time people’s hearts soften up and they start to give. Why do we wait for one day or holiday season to give? Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. No matter how little we have, we have enough to help someone else. If we want God to give us something, we need to let go of something. Giving is not just money. It’s time, talent, skills, etc…People need help year round, not just on one day.

Don’t believe because you’re a good person and never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior that you’re going to heaven; you will bust hell wide open. Don’t believe because you’ve always treated people kindly and always gave to those in need, but never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior that you’re going to heaven; you will bust hell wide open. Your works does not get you into heaven, it doesn’t save you. Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

How is it that we can say; we’re children of God and feel so comfortable sinning against him? How are we so at ease in Zion when our children are being killed at alarming rates, our elderly citizens are being abused, children are killing their parents, teachers are not teaching our children, children disrespecting any forms of authority and our world is in total chaos. Are we truly a nation that has forgotten God? It’s time to get back to the basics. We need to fast and pray that God will forgive us and heal our land. We need to fast and pray that we become a nation that puts God first. We need to fast and pray that God shakes our very foundation and turn us back to him. We live like the modern-day children of Isreal; we live any kind of way until God brings calamity upon us. Then we cry out to him, he forgives us and we go back to business as usual. We shouldn’t feel so comfortable.

Society makes everyone think that they have to be somebody else in order to be accepted, liked, or in the in-crowd. Rarely do you find people that are happy with themselves. They are always trying to be something or somebody they’re not. It even happened in the bible days. In the book of Acts when the seven sons of schevia tried to cast out the demons; the demons spoke and said; Paul I know, Jesus I know, but who are you. Don’t lose yourself trying to be somebody else. God said; you’re fearfully and wonderfully made. Be who God made you. Know this, everyone is not going to like you but who cares. The real question is; will God be pleased with who you are? I love being me, no one else can be better at being me but me. My kids may act like me, but they can’t be me.

There are some sins we’ve committed that God dealt with us about, but he covered from everyone else. That’s enough to shout about. He loves us so much that he won’t let us get away with sin, yet he won’t expose us. When you look back over your life you can see many sins that God covered. So take a praise break right now and say; God covered me.

Don’t you hate when someone tries to do your job or think they know your job better than you? Do you ever want to tell them; if you think you can do it better then do it? Well how do you think God feels when we try to do his job and get in his way? He doesn’t need our help, so step aside and let the master work.

When you went to work today, did you say; won’t he do it? Or, did you start complaining how much you don’t like your job. When that loved one was healed, did you say; won’t he do it ? Or, did you complain about the hospital staff. When your child came home safe and gun violence or police brutality didn’t take their life, did you say; won’t he do it? Or, did you complain how they didn’t take the right route home or how you don’t like your neighborhood. There are so many things in this world that we can look at and say; won’t he do it, but sadly we look at life with the glass half empty. So, we murmur and complain about everything, when clearly the bible says; give thanks in everything.

Don’t miss what God has for you worrying about other people. Keep your focus on God. If other people could bring you out, they would have. God has shown you that he has your back even when you’re not faithful to him. He’s shown you that he’s faithful and just to forgive you. He’s shown you that he’s married to the backslider. Just know if God did it before he’ll do it again, but you might miss out because your focus is in the wrong place.

Some of things that we are going through wasn’t caused by the devil, the spirit led us into them. Jesus was even led into temptation by the spirit. The bible says in Matthew 4:1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. So while we’re going through we need to ask the question; is this God or is this the devil. Depending on which one it is our prayers will be different. For if its God we can pray; Philippians 1:6Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. If it’s the devil we can pray; Isaiah 54:16-17 Behold, I have created the smiththat bloweth the coals in the fire,and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work;and I have created the waster to destroy.No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

Galatians 6:9-10And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Sometimes it’s hard to keep doing right when you’re looking at people that don’t serve God and they got it going on. They are not struggling with their bills, their children are fine, their marriage is stable and good, their job pays them well; all the while you’re struggling in most areas of your life. Don’t get weary. Keep doing what God told you to do. Stop looking at everyone else. What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul. You’re looking at material things that are going to pass away; when God wants you to look at things eternal.
