Many people today will celebrate the incoming of the new year. Some will go to a party, a club, church, etc… While everyone is celebrating the New Year, will anyone be wondering is today the day that Jesus will return? Will our minds be on our salvation or will it be on how much fun we are going to have tonight? I pray we all be ready for Jesus return. Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. Don’t let it be said too late, Jesus here I am a sinner, I give my life to you.

Stop stressing over people and things. People are only in our lives for a season or reason, and things come and go. Stop trying to please everybody. If we spent as much time trying to please God the way we try to please people, God would be pleased with us. We’ve allowed people and things to stress us to the point of over eating and under eating, drinking, smoking, hair falling out, loss of concentration, loss of sleep, etc… Some of us don’t know if we’re coming or going. We have to turn all of our problems over to God and let him work it out. God said; we can cast all of our cares on him. Stress will kill you and honestly; some people and things are not worth dying over.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing. 

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and said; mighty are the works of God’s hands? Have you ever looked at nature and said; mighty are the works of God’s hands? Have you ever looked at the different species of animals and said; mighty are the works of God’s hands? If you’ve never did any of this, you’re missing God in your everyday life. God is everywhere. The works of his hands are everywhere. You just have to open your eyes and see it. 

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing. 

Don’t let the fear of success stop you. Many people have already told you that you couldn’t do it and you bought into that lie. Now, the thought of you being successful scares you to the point that you don’t even want to try. God has not given you the spirit of fear. He’s made you more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. It’s time to get rid of the dream killers in your life. If people can’t encourage you in this season, let them go. Besides, it’s your dream not theirs. Many people don’t encourage you because they don’t have a dream or vision for themselves. You have a choice to make. Either put your dream on hold for the naysayers and make them happy, or step out on faith and go get what God has for you.

How many times have you said or heard someone say; that’s just me? If you’ve said it or heard someone else say it, please know God did not make you that way. We choose to behave in certain ways. We choose to curse people out, God didn’t make us that way. We choose to lie, cheat, and steal; God didn’t make us that way. We choose to be manipulative and deceitful, God did not make us that way. God created us in his image and likeness. So with that being said; how can we continue to say “that’s just me” or better yet; God knows my heart. If we could talk to the people in hell right now who always said; God knows my heart, we would be begging for spiritual heart surgery from God. We would be begging him to create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit in us. Instead, we’re going on about our day as if God doesn’t see all of the foolishness that we are doing, and thinking that he’s not coming back soon. As I always say; if you die and go to hell it’s your fault.

Many people are already talking about what they’re going to do in 2016. That’s a little sad because they still have time in 2015 to do some things. The reality is; many more people will die before 2016 even gets here. Time doesn’t stand still, so while there’s still time in 2015 we need to stay busy minding the things of God. I hear a lot of people making their party plans, but I don’t hear anyone making plans about their salvation. If you’re not saved; 2015 is a great time to get saved. Don’t say; next year you’re going to get right with God. You may not make it to next year. Miracles are still going to happen in 2015. People are still going to be blessed in 2015. Stop thinking 2015 is over and look at all the possibilities that still exist this year.

Because Jesus lives we can live. We are not dead men and women walking around. We are living testimonies that Jesus is the risen Savior. Because He lives we can proudly proclaim; blessed assurance Jesus is mine. Because He lives we can face whatever may come our way. Because He lives we don’t have to walk around with hung down heads and be in the depths of despair. Because He lives we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ. The God we serve is not dead! He’s alive and active in our lives.

Many of us are trying to go before God and we’re wondering why things are not working in our favor. We need to wait on the Lord. Our problems seem catastrophic to us, but to God they’re nothing. God may not come when we want him to, but when he comes we will want him. While we’re waiting we cannot start complaining because that will prolong the process. While we’re waiting we need to start rejoicing because one thing we know for sure; is that God will never leave us nor forsake us. He will come and see about us. He is faithful to his word. He will not let the enemy prevail over us. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Psalm 40:31 says; but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk,and not faint.

Can anything good come out of the hood? Many people reading this blog today grew up in Eden Green, The Gardens, Golden Gate, Riverdale, The Brown Houses, the row houses on Front Street and many more hood places. People looked at us like nothing good could come out of those places. Not only did a lot of good come out of the hood, it was all God. God made it possible for us to rise above the drugs, the thug mentality, the gangs and everything else that could have held us down. Therefore, we ought to thank God that we made it. We made it to a better life than what we had. We made it to a better future than what other people pronounced on us. We made it to see 18yrs, 21yrs, 25yrs and beyond. When I look back over my life and think things over, all I can say is; if it had not been for the Lord who was on my side where would I be.
