God Is Great But Sometimes Life Ain’t Good

Many of us have seen trouble in our lives. Whether that trouble was the lost of a loved one or job, a catastrophe or storm, or an interruption in our everyday lives. It was at that point in our lives where we said or thought; God is great but sometimes life ain’t so good. If we be honest with ourselves we’ve had to question God and ask; Lord do you see what’s taken place in my life. Aren’t you going to do something about it? The fact of the matter is everyday of our lives are not going to always be sunny. We will have to go through some things that don’t always feel good. It’s in those times that you really find out what you believe. You’ll find out if you really trust God after your child has died, your spouse walked out, you got fired, your family turned their back on you, bills piling up, etc…and somehow and someway you still have to muster up enough strength to say Lord I thank you. The bible says; in everything give thanks. Thank God because our situations could be worse than they are. God never changes but he will change us in the situation.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Prayer Changes Things

Once again God showed up and showed out. My daughter called me to say my grandson is off the feeding tube, breathing on his own and can go home tomorrow. Won’t God do it! Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons we have as Christians. It allows us to communicate straight to Jesus and he goes to God on our behalf for he is our advocate. To be able to communicate with the Lord at anytime, anywhere, and anyplace is amazing all within itself. To know that once you take all your burdens, worries, problems and cares to the Lord, you can walk away and know they are in the best hands. Many people are dealing with God situations and instead of praying about it, they are going to their family members and friends who cannot help them at all. Pray about everything and leave nothing to chance.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Trust Jesus No Matter What

Yesterday my daughter gave birth to my second grandson and this morning she called to say he’s in NICU. I prayed with her and then went to work. Later on, she called to say he had fluid on the lungs and is on a feeding tube; by this time the doctor came in the room and I could hear everything he was saying. I know what the doctor said, but I’m going to believe the report of the Lord. No matter what it looks like, I trust God is a healer. No matter what it looks like, the prophet will be healed and go home. God is good and he’s worthy to be praised. Whatever you’re going through on today trust Jesus no matter what. He never makes mistakes and he has everything under control.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Wigs

Today my daughter and I were talking about wigs and she asked; why do people wear wigs. I explained to her that it was like wearing a mask, people are always trying to hide something underneath. Many people put on masks everyday. They wear a mask of riches when they are struggling. They wear a mask of a good home life when their family is falling apart. They wear a mask of being ok when they’re  battling depression. They wear a mask of holiness when their life it riddled with sin. The good news is, we don’t have to wear wigs or masks when we come before God. We can come before him naked and be ourselves, for he knows anyway.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Shine On Me

Back in the day they use to sing this song at church. Many people were just singing it, but when we ask God to shine on us; we are really asking him to reveal everything in us. Whether that be the good, bad, ugly or indifferent. We should all want God to shine the light on our sin, so that we can repent and get it right, because we he calls our name up yonder it will be too late. We should all want God to shine the light on how we treat people. That way we can stop being so self-righteous and ask those people we’ve treated wrong for forgiveness. We should all want God to shine the light on the hidden things in our heart; for out of the heart flows the issues of life. Shine on me Lord and everything that comes to light that’s not of you, I give you permission to cleanse me from the inside out.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Tell No One

Many times when Jesus performed miracles in the bible he told the recipient of the miracle to tell no one. Now this is a dilemma for most people because when anything good happens, people are prone to talk about it. Could it be that Jesus didn’t want us to speak about it, because our lives should portray he’s working, moving, and living on the inside of us. We shouldn’t always have to tell people that we are Christians. Our speech and behavior should speak for us. We shouldn’t always have to tell people we love Jesus, our speech and behavior should speak for us. We shouldn’t always have to tell people we go to church. Our speech and behavior should speak for us. If people have to question whether or not we are Christians, love Jesus, or go to church; then we need to check our speech and our behavior.

Get An Understanding

Many people love to hear the preacher say that money cometh. They dance and shout all over the church and they tell their friends and family about it. However, the preacher never prophesies how to keep the money. The bible says; in all they getting, get an understanding. People need to understand that God is much more than money and material things. They need to understand that God is much more than a doctor, lawyer, and provider. He’s the Savior of the whole world. He’s awesome, magnificent, omniscient, omnipresent, a bridge over troubled water, sweeter than the honey on the honeycomb, mighty, strong, powerful, everlasting, a comforter, the lifter of your head, a mind regulator, heart fixer, I AM, and then some. Many people want the money, but they don’t want their souls delivered. They want the money, but they don’t want a relationship with God. They want the money, but they don’t want to tithe and give God what’s his. There’s nothing wrong with having money, but once the money is gone, then what? I’d rather have Jesus than silver and gold. Jesus will keep me in the midnight hour, where money can’t. Jesus will give me peace that surpass all understanding, when money will drive me crazy. Jesus will heal me, when the doctors have come to the end of their medical knowledge. Jesus will save me, when the rest of the world has condemned me to hell. Give me Jesus.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Word Of God

Many people find it hard to take God at his word , because they are so use to taking the word of their friends and family. Trusting God becomes a burden to these people, because they are looking at the situation and not God. The bible says in Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. In other words, stop listening to your family and friends where God is concerned. The word of God will work in your life if you believe it and stand on it. Even if it doesn’t look like God is working on your behalf, trust his word; for he is not a man that can lie or a man that can repent. If God said it, believe it, and that settles it.

Worth

You cannot tell a person’s worth by how much stuff they have. Let them miss a couple of payments and that stuff will be taken away. The character of a person let’s us know their worth. If they have shady character their worth means nothing to us. If they have great character, we idolize their worth. Well God looked beyond all of our faults and saw our needs. He saw our need to be saved and delivered therefore, he died for us all. It’s not about how you feel about a person. It’s about what God sees in them, and just as he saw the best in you and me; he sees the best in them.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Things Money Can’t Buy

For people that have money and don’t need it, money isn’t everything to them. For the people that don’t have money and need it, money is everything to them. For the Haves and the Have Nots there’s somethings money can’t do for either of them. Money can’t buy them peace of mind. Money can’t extend their life, when God says you’re finished here on earth, you’re finished. Money can’t buy you a place in heaven. You cannot bribe God he has everything, the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. So, for the people that think money is there security blanket and don’t trust God, open your eyes and don’t be fooled. For the people that think if they don’t have money, then they cannot make it, open your eyes and trust God.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
