Will We Be Missed

The other day my grandson didn’t want to go to school because he didn’t feel good. He asked me if he didn’t go to school would his friends miss him. I replied yes they would; he said alright I’m getting up and getting ready for school. Would we be missed if we didn’t show up for an occasion or even died? Would people rejoice over us being gone or would they be distraught? What type of life do we live that makes people want to be around us or leave us alone? These are just some questions that I began to ponder when my grandson asked me if he’d be missed. I try my best to be good to people on purpose. I try my best not to hold grudges because at the end of the day it means nothing. When I see myself falling short, I do my best to go and get it right, because ultimately I want to be pleasing to the Lord. When we treat each other right and with respect and love, we are being pleasing to God.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Lord Knows

What you are going through did not take God by surprise it took you by surprise. God knows just how much you can handle so he is going to press you and stretch you. Stop saying you can’t take it; you can take it, that’s why God allowed it. He is showing you what he’s placed on the inside of you. If you’re ever going to go to the next level, you have to go through a series of test. The Lord knows how you feel, but he’s not concerned about your feelings, he’s concerned about your destiny. The Lord is not going to bring you out one second before time, because if he does, you will be undone. So, stop trying to explain to people what’s going on with you and stop trying to figure out what God is doing,  just say; the Lord knows.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I’m Rich

When people talk about riches the majority of the time they are speaking about money. When I woke up this morning it dawned on me that I’m rich. I’m rich in love, family, relationships, morals, character, and health. I have a relationship with God, a prayer life, and children that are healthy and always keep me on my toes. I have a grandson that’s funny as all get out and I have church families all over the world. To me, that’s being rich. There are people in this world that have tons of money, but no character. They have tons of money, but people only tell them what they want to hear. They have tons of money, but they are lonely. They have tons of money, but are in poor health. They can buy the best doctor’s but they can’t find a match for their heart, liver, kidneys, etc… When you look over your life and not your bank account, you will also find that you are rich. You have to decide if being rich is a state of mind or a number in the bank account.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

40 Is The New 40

On Sunday I will turn 40, but I celebrated my birthday today with a huge 40 & Fabulous bash. I danced from the time I entered the place until the party was over four hours later. Every bone in my body hurts. Whoever said 40 is the new 30 or 20 lied. I can’t run two miles in 15:30 like I use to when I was 20. I can’t stay up all night long like when I was 20. When I was 30  my eyesight was much better than 40. My metabolism was much better in my 20’s and 30’s. Now if I look at food I gain weight. I got aches in places I didn’t know existed in the body. Nevertheless, I love being 40. I’m ecstatic that God allowed me to see 40yrs old. When I was 37yrs old I was writing my obituary because of a bad heart. Now I’m 40 and I’m coming out with my 4th book and things are well. So here’s to 40 and the joys and aches that it will bring. I will embrace them both, for someone wished they could see such a milestone.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

You Don’t Know My Story

Before we put our mouth on another person we need to know their story. People look at each other and try to size them up, without knowing anything about them. Unless we were raised with that other person, we really don’t know their story; we only know what they tell us. Does putting our mouth on people really make us feel that good? It’s funny how we can talk about other people, but when the tables are turned we want to fight and the first thing we say is; they don’t know anything about me. This should help us to keep our mouths shut. The bible says; touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm. When we put our mouths on people, do we know if they are God’s anointed or his prophets? If they are are, then we have to go against God, and that’s a fight we can’t win. So, it’s best to get to know someone; instead of talking about someone.

Always Learning

Many of us are out of school, yet God keeps teaching us lessons. It’s up to us whether or not we’re willing to learn what he’s teaching. Life is a classroom and success or failure is up to us. Some of us may act like the disciples and not grasp anything that God is trying to tell us, yet we are in his presence daily. We need to pray and ask God for knowledge and understanding of everything he wants us to learn. So, the day you want to stop learning, that’s the day you die, the day you stop being a productive citizen, and the day yo are of no use to the people around you, yourself or the kingdom of God.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Get Delivered From People

Everybody doesn’t want to see you blessed, so what’s new. Stop caring about what people think about you. Today people will like you, tomorrow they will talk about you and next week they will forget about you. One of the reasons people are not further along in life, is because they are too worried about what other people are saying and thinking about them. A few weeks ago a young lady made a statement to me about how people see me. I quickly replied; the Lord delivered me from people years ago so I don’t care. She then said; I’m not there yet. I told her she’d feel a whole lot better when she gets there. At what point in life do you come from under the shadows of others and blossom into the you God created you to be? Back in the day McFadden & Whitehead made a song entitled: Ain’t No Stopping Us Now. In the song they said; I know you know someone that has a negative vibe and if you’re trying to make it they only push you aside, they really don’t have nowhere to go, ask them where they’re going they don’t know. God’s given you to many dreams and a great vision to let someone hold you back. Let nothing and no one stop you.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I’m Not Where I Thought I Was

After hearing of the horror that the community in South Carolina experienced last week, I along with the rest of the world got a rude awakening. I love God, I preach forgiveness, I believe in forgiveness and yet; I found myself feeling an ungodly anger as I watched on television the events that unfolded. The families of these nine victims showed me that I wasn’t where I thought I was. Family member after family member expressed true love, and forgiveness. As I heard them talk to the offender and express their hurt but showed how merciful Jesus is, I thought to myself, you are not there yet. God began to deal with me so I could see things through spiritual eyes. He showed me how the victim’s died in the presence of the Lord. They died expressing love to the very one that killed them. They died with the word of God on their lips, minds and in their hearts. The bible says; it’s not his will that none shall perish, this includes this young man that has committed this horrific act. God wants him to have eternal life also. That might be hard for some people to grasp, but if this young man repents and accepts Jesus as his Lord and Savior, then he will have eternal life. The real question is; will we learn from this and check where we’re at with God, or will we continue to sit in judgement of everyone and bring damnation on our own souls?

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Sacrifice

It amazes me how many people say they love Jesus, but won’t go to church because it goes too long. The audacity of people not wanting to spend two hours or more with God, yet; want God to bless them abundantly. We really don’t know what sacrifice is. We say we sacrifice our time and money, but do we really? Jesus died for us, now that’s sacrifice. He died knowing we would lie, cheat, steal, forget about him, fornicate, shack-up, and kill each other. We won’t even talk to anyone that has lied on us. We will leave someone standing out in the cold if they did us wrong. When we talk about how much we sacrifice, we need to stop and think how much of a lie we are telling ourselves. Until we can really be Christ like, we haven’t sacrificed anything.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day. Thank you to the fathers that left their children for whatever reason, and stayed out of their lives instead causing more damage. Without you, the seed would have never been planted with their mother, and your child or children wouldn’t be the blessing they are today. So you are just as important on this father day as anyone. To the men that stepped up and took care someone else’s child; may God bless you. You’ve had to endure children telling you, you’re not my dad, or trying their best to separate you and their mom; yet, you stayed and you raised them in-spite of. Thanks to the biological dads that stuck around and raised their children through hell and high water, and was determined that your children were going to be better than you, and make something out of themselves. Lastly, thank you to all the men who became a father figure to those children in your neighborhoods, and family members where there were no men to help out. You’ve helped shape the community, and shape the future of young lives. So, to all the fathers on today, take a bow you play an important role in a child’s life.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
