Your Word

Does your word mean anything? Can people bank on your word? Do people trust that you’ll do what you say you’ll do? Sadly, many people’s word don’t mean anything today. Many people have lost their integrity, and for what; to get over on other people. It’s good to know Jesus. His word will never go out and return unto him void. You may have been waiting for a long time for God’s word to come to pass in your life. Just keep on believing, God has not forgotten about you. When Daniel prayed in the bible, God sent his angel immediately to answer Daniel, but the angel was held up because he had to fight with the enemy for 21 days before he could reach Daniel. Know that God has heard your prayer, and the enemy is doing everything he can to stop the answer from reaching you. God’s word is true. He’s not a man that he should lie or a man that he should repent.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the women that are mothers. Whether you are a biological mother, step mother, godmother, helping to raise someone else’s child, or raising your siblings. You are very special and without you, our children wouldn’t be who they are. Thank you for the tireless nights you stay up taking care of them when they are sick. Thank you for the long hours you work just to put food on the table. Thank you for making a future for your children even if their father’s are missing in action. Thank you for never giving up, when life made it so easy to walk away. I salute you. The Lord has strengthen your hands, arms and heart; for the most important job you will ever have. So take a bow, and just when it gets to hectic; look to the hills from whence cometh your help, your help comes from the Lord.

No Turning Back

Today I took my youngest daughter and grandson to the amusement park. We were standing in line for this particular ride and when we were just about to get to the front of the line, my grandson started crying and wanted to turn around. I looked back and saw how many people were behind us, and how far we had come and said; no way, no turning back. 

Just like my grandson, many of us have come a mighty long way, and because of fear we want to turn around. Because, we don’t know what’s ahead we want to turn back and go to what’s familiar. God didn’t bring you this far to leave you. You are right on the verge of a breakthrough, yet you keep listening to people say; that has never been done before, or how do you think you’re going to make it. If God be for you who can be against you. There’s no turning back in this season. Square your shoulders, hold your head up high, and walk in the authority that God gave you.

Explain Yourself

Many of us don’t like to explain ourselves and we feel like we shouldn’t have to. However, there comes a time in life where you will have to do just that. In order for people to know where you’re coming from, and why you act the way you act; you will have to explain yourself. As powerful as Paul was in the bible he still had to explain himself. He had to let the people know that they were not the only ones that have gone through some trouble. They were not the only ones that God had to redeem. They were not the only ones that suffered because of the name of Jesus. If you don’t like explaining yourself, then don’t testify, because that’s all it is; a testimony. When people testify in church, they’re explaining why they sing, shout and cry like they do. They’re explaining how they were on their way to a devil’s hell, but God. So, the next time you get all up in arms about explaining yourself, don’t forget we overcome by the testimonies of others.

What Have You Taken For Granted Today

Today did you take for granted the you would be able to walk, talk, have the activity of your limbs, have all of your senses, still have a job, and a house to come home to? The way the world is going now, we don’t know what God will or will not allow to happen. We need to start counting our blessings and making sure our spiritual houses are in order. On the day that people die; do you think they thought by the day’s end that they would be dead? No, they thought they were going home and getting ready for the next day. When we take things for granted, we cut corners and we miss small details. What we do in the natural we carry over to the spirit. Therefore, when we take things for granted in the natural, we will take God for granted and start thinking we can cut corners with him. Instead of taking things for granted, let’s cherish them and be grateful for them.

They

Have you ever wondered who they are? They always got something to say, but they never have a hand to help. They, have gotten a lot of stuff started and you have had to clean up the mess they made. Never listen to they, if they are hiding behind a Facebook post, a tweet or other types of social media. When they can come face to face and treat you like the man or woman God called you to be, then maybe they can have your ear. Jesus never listened to they. As a matter of fact, he let they, think what they wanted to think. He showed what he could do and shut they mouth. You don’t have to prove anything to anybody but yourself. If you make yourself happy, that’s all that matters. So, leave they alone and do you.

Never Give Up

Never give up on your dreams or goals, because someone else doesn’t like them. Everyone is not going to be happy about your success, but everyone will have their hand out when you become successful. Don’t worry about people’s opinion of you. Everyone will be talking about you and that’s ok. Just thank God that you’re on someone’s mind. Furthermore, stop updating people on the progress or lack of progress that you are making. There will be times that you cannot tell anyone what you’re doing, they will have to wait for the end result. When I wrote my first book; I never told anyone I was writing a book except the lady that was editing it. My family didn’t know I wrote a book until I emailed them the cover of it. Now I’m on my fourth book. Just imagine, how many people have given up on their dreams and goals because of what somebody said. The only voice that matters is the voice of God. What did God say? What does God think about it? Once you’ve got his blessing the rest is history.

These kinds of statements tend to hold people back:

Why are you doing that?

No one in your family has ever done that.

You know that’s going to be hard to accomplish.

Are you sure that’s what you really want to do?

That takes a lot of money and you don’t have any money.

The bank is not not going to finance you.

Don’t let these statements stop you any longer. When people come at you with these statements; let them know, you’re not asking for their help. If God gave you the vision, he will give you the provision.

Don’t Send Jesus Away

In Mark chapter 5, Jesus healed a demon possessed man. After healing him and people seeing him in his right mind, they grew afraid and asked Jesus to leave. They wasn’t afraid because Jesus performed a miracle; they were afraid because they thought that they would suffer financial losses if Jesus stayed around. They didn’t realize his presence would have brought more blessings and healings in their city. Nevertheless, Jesus left. 

Many people today don’t want anyone to know they are a Christian, because they feel like they have to defend Jesus. Truth be told, Jesus can defend himself. The life you live is the defense for Jesus. People that knew you way back when and see you now, ought to know Jesus is real. People I used to run with, fight with and drink with, see me now and say; who would have thought. That’s enough evidence to show that Jesus is real. 

This is how you know that you shouldn’t send Jesus away. If people can curse in the office all day long, don’t send Jesus away. If people can kill other people for fun, don’t send Jesus away. If people can cut an unborn baby out of a mother’s womb, don’t send Jesus away. If our American cities can turn into war zones, don’t send Jesus away. When our young kills are killing other kids to be in a gang, don’t send Jesus away. When it seems like we are funeralizing a black man every month in a different state; for dying at the hands of a police officer, don’t send Jesus away. We need to be saying  to Jesus; I need thee, oh I need thee. Every second, every minute, every hour, I need thee. Oh! Bless me know my Savior, I come to thee.

Our Enemies Need Prayer Too

Many of us would love to see our enemies demise. After all, they’ve caused much chaos in our lives. It really wouldn’t phase us if we heard that they died. Some of us would shout and say; Lord I got the victory. Many of us would say; that’s what you get for messing with a child of God. But, none of us would think twice about them or the family they left behind. We need to sincerely pray for our enemies. Realizing they are children of God too. The bible says; it not his will that none shall perish. Because someone is your enemy, doesn’t mean they need to go to hell. Some of us don’t really know how to pray for our enemy, so let’s try this:

Lord I want to thank you for my enemies. For if it had not been for them, I wouldn’t know how to pray and I wouldn’t have the relationship I have with you. Now Lord, I ask that you watch over my enemies and keep them. If they don’t have a relationship with you, don’t let them close their eyes in death until they do. Keep them safe and secure, and watch over their families. Lord let no hurt, harm, or danger come to them. Keep them from dangers seen and unseen. Lord, don’t let them lack anything and bless them bountifully. Lord most of all, forgive them for what they’ve done to me and help me to have true forgiveness for them. Teach me to love them, for I know I may be just like them and I’m someone’s enemy too. So, Lord forgive me too. Lord, let us reconcile our differences and hold no grudges towards each other. Help me to keep my mouth off them, and keep my focus on you. In Jesus name amen.

Slow Down

Is your life so fast paced that you have to schedule every minute of your day? Do you have time to enjoy any of the blessings that God has given you? Do you take life so serious that you cannot smile? Maybe it’s time for you to slow down, look around and live. Today, while my youngest daughter, my grandson and I were out spending time, we began to take things slow and we noticed stuff we haven’t noticed before. My daughter asked me did I know if all this stuff was here. I replied; no, She then said; you see what happens when you slow down. It’s sad that we’ve become so busy that we don’t even have time to say thank you to the Lord, or we have to pencil in family time. Some of us don’t even take off work, because we feel like we have to be there in order for things to flow right. 

Slow down and enjoy what God has given you. Slow down and spend time with family and friends. Slow down and take a moment to yourself  to reflect. Slow down and find time to spend with God. After all, if it had not been for the Lord on your side where would you be?
