Anyway You Bless Me

Do we pray and ask God to bless us, then turn around and try to tell him how to bless us? How many of us have missed our blessing, because it didn’t come packaged the way we thought it should come? We need to get this in our spirits; anyway you bless me Lord, I’ll be satisfied. When you say anyway you bless me Lord; you’re saying, Lord I’ll stay in my lane and mind my business while you handle your business. God knows when, where, and how to bless you; he doesn’t need your help or opinions in how he should carry out your blessing. He might want to bless you in the presence of your enemies. He might might want to bless you in the presence of your nay saying family members. He might want to bless you in church, just to give someone hope. We don’t know the mind of God or his thoughts. So, instead of trying to instruct him and give him a command, we need to say; Lord help me to hold out until my change come. Lord you blessed me before and I believe you’ll bless me again. Anyway you bless me Lord, I’ll be satisfied.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

There Has To Be More To Life

Have you ever said to yourself; there has to be more to life than this? Well, you’re absolutely right. There is more to life than just going to work, paying bills, and barely making it. There is more to life than our daily routines. The bible says; in John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus intends for you to live an abundant life. So get up, get out, and live. Try something new, go after your passion, explore your dreams. Just because no one in your family has ever done it, doesn’t mean it can’t be done. Even with all my travels around the world, I thought I was doing something, and one day God told me to live a little. I was shocked, because I thought I was living it up. God was showing me how I was allowing fear to hold me back from something’s; how I was afraid to take any kind of risk and was being to rigid in life. Now that I’m learning to really live, I am truly finding out, that there is more to life than this.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Unapologetic

Stop apologizing for the blessings that God has bestowed upon you. It’s not like your blessings came overnight. You’ve been through hell and high water. You’ve known pain, you’ve known heartache and now, God is given you double for your trouble. So, don’t apologize. All of your blessings are not material anyway. Many of them are spiritual, and people are jealous of your spiritual gifts as well as your material gifts. If you’re not careful, you will be apologizing for what you have, what you don’t have, and what you’re trying to get. People will try to put you in a box and it’s up to you not to get boxed in. The next time someone wants you to apologize for what God has done in your life, tell them; all they have to do is seek God for themselves and let God show them who he is.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I’m Here For You

Have you ever told someone I’m here for you and you can call me day or night? Well when they called you in the middle of the night, did you say; I’m sleep, I’ve had a long day can you call me back later? If you did, then you were not there for that person, you lied. When someone calls you in the middle of the night it’s not to crack jokes and gossip; they need help, someone to talk to, a shoulder to lean on, someone to touch and agree with them. You may have been their last lifeline but you were tired because you had a long day. Well, it’s good to know we can go to Jesus day or night. He never sleeps and never lumbers. If you go to Jesus in the middle of the night, he won’t hang up on you. He will let you vent, cry, scream, yell, and get everything out. He will be a shoulder to lean on, and he will hold you if you need to be held. He’ll rock you to sleep and ease your troubled mind. He will be there to comfort you. Truly, he’ll be there for you. He’ll be there when things are good and when things are bad. When God says I’m here for you, he really means it. When man says I’m here for you, be careful it may not always be true.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Get Mad At Yourself

There should be times when we go to church and leave mad at ourselves. We should be mad because, we sit in the presence of God then leave out to still live trifling lifestyles. We should be mad because nothing provoked us to change. It’s not up to the pastor or preacher to change us. It’s up to us. We need to make up in our minds; that we’re tired of living a life that’s not pleasing to God. We’re tired of going to church and tainting the atmosphere by singing in the choir, preaching in the pulpit, ushering on the usher board, being a deacon, trustee, or church mother and Sunday school teacher, and our lives don’t line up with the word. We should get so mad and say; not another day, will I live saved on Sunday and hellish Monday- Saturday. Not another day, will I look like l’m living holy and my lifestyle is raggedy. Not another day, will I play with God and continue in sin because of his grace. Enough is Enough.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Truth

If you really want the truth about something talk to kids. They have nothing to lose. They are not trying to gain your friendship, buy your love, or be on your good side. You want to know if you look fat, if your weave looks nice, who likes you or can’t stand you in church, ask a kid. They have no filters and they are not worried about your feelings. Kids are not trying to win a popularity contest with adults. We always tell kids to stay in their place, and when they tell us the truth we get mad. Actually, they are staying in their place. They are telling us the truth from their perspective, from what they see, and from what they’ve heard about us. I welcome the truth from my kids, no matter how harsh it may seem. At least kids are learning to speak their minds, unlike adults who lie and try to hide and hold things in. Free yourself and talk to a kid today. You’d be amazed what they have to tell you about you.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Lest We Forget

Year’s ago when I first started preaching, people would say; you really preached. I would say thank you and a church mother got on me about saying thank you. She told me to never say thank you after preaching, lest I forget it was God that gave me the gift of preaching. She told me I was always to say; to God be the glory. That stuck with me over the years and to this day, I say to God be the glory if someone comments on my preaching.

How many of us take credit for what God has done? How many of us say; we are a self-made man or woman? Have we forgotten, if it had not been for the Lord on our side, we’d be in bad shape? Do we think we give ourselves life, health and strength? Let’s not forget how powerful and mighty God is. Let’s not forgot how God delivered us from sin and ourselves. Let’s not forget how God continues to make ways out of no way. Let’s not forget that it was God that gave us the ability to do what we do, to have the talent that we have, and that he gave each of us different gifts.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Go To Sleep

If Jesus never sleeps nor slumber, why are we staying up all night worrying about our situations?  Go to sleep and get some rest. There’s no need for all of us to stay awake. Once we pray about our situations we need to leave them in God’s hands. Besides, if we could have taken care of our problems, we would have already. It’s evident that we can’t, so we went to God in prayer. Worrying + prayer = doubt. Our problems didn’t catch God by surprise, they caught us by surprise. We have to make up in our minds, that we are not going to lose anymore sleep over something that God is handling.

Don’t Stop Praying

Have you been praying for a loved one to get saved? The more you pray the more hellish they act. Well, the enemy wants you to stop praying for them. The enemy doesn’t want you saved let alone your family members. You have something the enemy doesn’t have; that is, you have a chance to make it into heaven. The enemy blew his chance when he exalted himself above God and got kicked out of heaven. So you see, how important it is to keep praying. Prayer changes things.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

One Day With God

The bible says; 1000 years is like a day with God and a day is like a thousand years. Methuselah lived to be 969yrs old in the bible. He was the oldest person in the bible. So, I wonder if no one ever lived to be 1000yrs old, has anyone of us really had one day with God? We speak of God’s goodness, his mercy, his judgements, and his favor; but do we speak about the day we’ve had with him? We spend time reading God’s word, praying and meditating. Yet, do we ever sit back and imagine what a day with God will be like? I can only imagine. Oh! What a day that will be. This is something to think about.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
