The Last Minute

on March 24, 2015

My kids have a habit of waiting until the last minute to tell me they need something signed, they need me to cook something for their school, they need money or they need me to take them somewhere. I constantly tell them; stop waiting until the last minute because you don’t know my schedule, you don’t know if I have cash on me or you don’t know if time will permit me to cook something for your school. No matter how much I tell them this, they continue to wait until the last minute. Sometimes, I have to show them what waiting until the last minute will cost them. Sometimes, they have to go to school without that dish of food, or they don’t get the money because I don’t have time to go to the ATM. Sometimes, they have to walk because I leave earlier than they expected. They get mad, but it’s no one’s fault but theirs.

Sadly, I speak to people who are waiting until the last minute to get saved. They tell me they’re waiting until they are on their death bed to confess Christ. I say wow; so you know how you’re going to die? None of us knows how we’re going to die. So, why chance it? Why chance eternal life? Why chance a relationship with God, living for the world? Why wait until the last minute? While the blood is running warm in your veins I urge you to confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. I urge you to repent. What would happen if you had a chance to confess Jesus and you didn’t, then you lost your voice and was never able to speak again. What would happen, if you had a chance to give your life to Jesus and you said; I will wait until tomorrow, but Jesus said; your soul was required of you tonight? In hell will you lift up your eyes.

People don’t go to hell for drinking and smoking and partying,… They go to hell for not confessing with their mouth the Lord Jesus and believing in their heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead. Once you confess Jesus then live a life pleasing to him. Learn his ways. Just don’t wait until the last minute.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
