When They Expect You To Fail

We cannot be so naive to think that everyone is on our side. It would be good if they were, but let’s not get beside ourselves. Just because people expect you to fail doesn’t mean you have to be a failure. You need to get an, I’ll show you attitude.

I’ll show you that I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. I’ll show you that I’m the head and not the tail. I’ll show you that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. I’ll show you that, the kingdom suffers violence and the violent take it by force, if you keep messing with me.

We need to realize that God allows people in our life to agitate us. They come to church every Sunday just to mess with us. They sit by us on our way to work. We run into them at the store. They become our boss. Some of them are our blood relatives. Although they agitate us and aggravate us, they are really there to help push us to where God wants us to be. If these people never came into our lives; we wouldn’t want more and we wouldn’t strive for more. We would be content with mediocre.

If you’re okay with being mediocre that’s cool. But, if our father is King and own a cattle on a thousand hills, shouldn’t we want to step our game up?
Can’t nobody hold us down but us. People don’t control our destiny, we do. No matter what the people say. If God said it, we should believe it, and that settles it.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

When God Is Silent

When chaos ensues and one thing after another begins to happen, it seems like God becomes silent. You’re praying and fasting and God is still silent. You even ask God; do you see, do you care what I’m going through? And yet, he is still silent. You go to church and the pastor is preaching, prophesying over your life and people are shouting; but all the while you’re just focused on what you’re going through.

It’s in the silence that you keep trying to trust in God while your faith is dwindling. You keep going to church in hopes that the pastor is right, when he says you’re next in line. You keep reading the word of God, in hopes it will come alive in your situation. You’re holding on by a thread, while the enemy is speaking in your ear, that God doesn’t love you.

When God is silent, you must dig deep and find a way to trust him when you can’t trace him. You must shut the enemy down by combating everything he says with the word of God. You must stand on the promises of God, even if it doesn’t look like it’s coming to past. Honestly, when God is silent, he’s showing you what he’s placed on the inside of you. He’s still working on your behalf, he’s just not giving you any insight on what he’s doing.

So, when God is silent, keep trusting and believing and know that trouble don’t last always.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Humble Yourself

When I was in the Army my first sergeant would always tell me, I need to eat humble pie. I disagreed with him, because of pride, and I felt I was always right. Most of the times I was right with what I said, but how I said it, was all wrong. I needed humble pie.

Life has a way to humble you. The bibles says to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. Now, you can do this willingly or you can be forced. One way or another, you will be humbled.

God can use your health, your children getting in trouble, you losing your job and having to beg for help, your marriage, the death of a love one or anything else he chooses to humble you. Don’t let it boil down to that.

Tell God to lead you and guide you and to direct your path and speech. People may expect you to act up and flip out, but God expects you to drop your pride, show love and kindness , show meekness, and act like his child.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Don’t Believe Me Just Watch

Has someone ever asked you for something, or asked you to do something but didn’t believe you would come through for them? Did you feel like; why ask me if you think I’m not going to do it? Did it irritate you to no end? Did you tell yourself, you were going to do it just to prove them wrong? Secretly, did you say; don’t believe me just watch?

Have you ever prayed to God, but didn’t really believe he would come through for you? Did you care how you made him feel by doubting him? Do you think you irritated God with your disbelief?

God is so good and slow to anger, for the sake of his word; he said don’t believe me just watch. He performed a miracle in your life to show you who he was and what he is capable of. I can remember before I had heart surgery when my heart was malfunctioning , and I would have to be rushed to the hospital so the doctor’s could stop my heart and restart it. They would always get the crash cart ready just in case my heart didn’t start back. All the doctors and nurses would be around my bed waiting for my heart to stop and one day I said God help me. The doctor asked what did you say? I replied God help me. God showed those doctors and me something that day. My heart never stopped, it just reset itself and the doctors were all amazed.

It doesn’t pay to doubt God and it’s not always good to make God prove who he is. He can prove who he is in the most dire situations that can almost take you out.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

I Paid For It

Whenever you make a purchase at the store the cashier always ask, do you want your receipt? Normally, I say no, I know I paid for it.

I wonder, do we act the way we act as Christians because we know Jesus already paid for it. Do we have the mentality, once saved always saved, because we know Jesus paid for it? Are we so arrogant to think that Jesus had no choice but to pay for it?

Perhaps, our attitudes would be different if we had to pay the same price as Jesus. Perhaps, if we had to give up our only child for an ungrateful, evil, and perverse people the payment would mean more.

People don’t care as much when someone else pays the cost. But, they have a tendency to look at things much different when they have to pay the cost.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Pop Quiz

Growing up in school, we would come to class and the teacher would say; put everything away this is a pop quiz. The teacher would only quiz us on what we were taught. Some people were not prepared. Other people just put an answer on the paper, and some past the test with flying colors.

The bible says we are held accountable for what we know. It also says; to study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. I consider myself a student of the word. So, God gave me a pop quiz last week. I told my daughter she can only drive certain places where we live. She decided to be disobedient and drove specifically where I told her not to go. She got a speeding ticket. Where we live speeding tickets are between $650-950 dollars and if you don’t pay, you go to jail until it’s paid.

Jesus said ok Tereasa, pop quiz. When you mess up and repent what does God do? I answered forgive me of my sins and throw it into the sea of forgetfulness. Where does charity start daughter? I said at home. What are parents not to do? I said provoke their children to anger. You’ve answered well. Now, I’ve showed you love, I’ve forgiven you and your sins were more costly than a speeding ticket and although you provoked me, with love and kindness have I drawn thee. In other words, God said don’t be mad at her. You have the money, it’s not going to break the bank. Let it go.

I was obedient and when I thought about it, this too shall pass and God could have dealt with my disobedience much harsher than he did. But, he showed me grace and mercy, so why couldn’t I do the same for my daughter.

Are you ready for your pop quiz? Are you ready to be held accountable for what you know? Ready or not testing time is coming.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Hook Me Up

We live in a culture where everyone wants something for nothing. No one wants to pay full price for anything. Everywhere we go, we hear someone saying; hook me up. After all who doesn’t like a great deal. The downside to this mentality is, we go to God with a hook me up attitude. And, we get mad when he makes us pay full price for our blessings, for our anointing, and for the call that’s on our life.

Jesus told his disciples some things only come through fasting and prayer. Now that sounds simple. But, try fasting for three days and on the second day God tells you to go for 21 days, and then he stretches it out to 40 days. God knows it will be hard for us, but he also knows that the anointing he’s placed on our lives is expensive. And, he also knows that once we pay full price for it, we won’t allow anyone to cheapen it by given them the hookup. He knows we won’t take our calling for granted once we’ve been through hell and high water. He knows we will cherish the blessing, because many of us thought we were not worthy in the first place.

So as you can see, getting the hookup is not always the best option. Sometimes we have to be willing to pay full price. For we get what we pay for.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Forgive

Many of us like to talk about people when they fall especially when they profess to be Christians. And, don’t let them hold a leadership position; we want to make that front page news. But, have we ever thought that these people are human? They have feelings and emotions just like us.

We need to learn to forgive them and forgive them quickly, because we might need forgiveness before the day is out. We might have to say I’m sorry to the whole congregation, our co-workers, our spouses, and our children before the day is out. So, we shouldn’t be so quick to run and tell that.

The bibles says; he without sin cast the first stone. None of us are in a position to talk about anybody. The only difference about their sin and ours, is their sins is public knowledge and ours are yet to be uncovered. Therefore, we need to forgive, keep our mouth’s shut and pray that God doesn’t expose us like he’s exposed the people we’re talking about.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

That’s When He Blessed Me

Have you been looking for God to bless you or work a miracle in your life? Is your situation so dire, that sometimes you feel like even Jesus can’t help you out of it? I’ve been there. I’ve been in some jams and it seemed like either Jesus couldn’t hear, he couldn’t figure out the solution, or he was just going to let me perish.

But, one day, I had a heart to heart conversation with the Lord and he began to tell me where I was falling short. I started lining up with the word of God. I started fasting and praying and seeking his face, not his hand. And that’s when he blessed me. When I decided to give Jesus my all and stop playing patty cake with him, that’s when he blessed me. When I decided fornication, lying, cheating, drinking, and all out sinning wasn’t working for me, that’s when he blessed me.

I know some churches believe in name it and claim it. Be not deceived. God does not bless foolishness. It’s true he has no respecter of person. If you want something from God, bless him, praise his name, and worship him with a pure heart.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Transformers

When you come to Christ you become a new creature. You transform into who God called you to be over time. You start the process of transforming looking like one thing and over time with some bends, pops, turns and cracks, you become something different. Transforming doesn’t always feel good and the process is not as quick as the movies portray it to be; however, when you let God transform you it will all be worth it.

Everyone is not going to like you when you transform, because you might not be the life of the party anymore. Everyone is not going to be happy that you’ve found your purpose in life. Beware of the people that prefer you to sin than to get your life straight. Be proud to be a transformer. Just think of how many of your friends died in their sins, and when you went to the funeral they tried to paint them like an angel and you know they were hell raisers. Thank God he’s allowed you to live this long in order to transform you into his child.

No matter what people say or think about you, make the change so you can hear; well done thy good and faithful servant.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
