Check Your Motives

on November 23, 2014

Why do you do what you do? Is it to please God or man? Is it to take someone else’s position? Is it to get your name in lights? Are you a servant or a celebrity? What are your real motives and intentions?

People hating on each other didn’t start in the 21st century, it started in the bible days. Although , we may hate to admit it, we have hated on people ourselves. For whatever reason, we have wished for someone’s demise. Now that we are in Christ Jesus, do we still hate on other people? Have our motives changed? Do we do what we do just to please God?

It’s alright to be happy for someone else’s success. It’s alright to help push someone else into their destiny. It’s alright to be a cheerleader on the sidelines, when you’re not center stage. However, it’s not alright for you to sit secretly and wish for someone else’s demise. It’s not alright, for you to assist the enemy in helping bring another Christian down. It’s not alright for you to praise God on Sunday morning, and start plotting, scheming, and being deceitful Sunday afternoon.

Only you and God know what your true motives are. If your motives are not pleasing to God, check them and change them, before he uncovers them. For the bible says, an open rebuke is better than a secret love.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
