Waiting For Everyone To Come Home

Tonight I decided to wait up for all of my kids to come home. Normally, if I’m tired I’ll send a text or call them reminding them of curfew then I go to bed.

Jesus said it’s not his will that any of us perish. He’s giving everyone a chance to come home before he returns, but sadly many are going to miss curfew and in hell will they lift up their eyes.

Jesus calls and sends text everyday, however, many people don’t answer calls they don’t know and don’t respond to unfamiliar text messages.

But this doesn’t stop Jesus from waiting for his children to come home. You may have kids that have gone astray, don’t give up on them. Pray for them, and pray that they don’t miss curfew. Also, when they do come home, rejoice and be thankful and grateful that God kept them alive long enough to make an intelligent decision to come home on time.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Discouraged

Are you feeling discouraged because you feel as though you let yourself down or you let God down? If so, forgive yourself and better yourself; then, ask God for forgiveness.

Furthermore, don’t put God in a box. His love is not like our love. He loves us unconditionally. His forgiveness is not like our forgiveness. He never brings it up again. He always encourages us. He never points out that we’re unqualified, uneducated, unemployed, or under attack.

Everytime discouragement rears its ugly head, tell yourself, you can because God said it, I believe it and that settles it.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Cutting People Off

Sometimes in life we have to cut people off, fire them out of our lives, give them pink slips in our relationships and move on. This may sound harsh, but some people can hold us back from our destiny and dreams.

Even Jesus told the disciples to shake the dust off their feet and keep it moving if people didn’t receive them. You don’t have to be nasty to people when you cut them off, just let them know; in this season of your life things are going to be different.

How can two walk together unless they agree. If the people in your circle are not walking the same as you, it’s pink slip time. Think about this, if you are not performing to standards on the job, the company kindly tells you, you are not what we are looking for at this time. It’s time for you to tell someone this. Besides, this is nothing new, God has been telling you this already, now you see it in black and white.

Do yourself a favor, obey God, fire the people out of your life that are unproductive and save yourself some heartache and headaches.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

How Did You Treat God’s Children Today

Today did you smile at everyone? Were you short with the cashier? Did you get upset when your latte was made wrong? Was God pleased with how you interacted with all of his kids today?

When we talk to people, do we realize we are talking to one of God’s children? They may not be of the household of faith yet, but that doesn’t give us the right to mistreat them. Many people don’t like being in our Christian family because we don’t know how to treat them.

Maybe that cashier ran out of gas on the way to work. Maybe that person making your latte is wondering how they’re going to pay for daycare. Maybe that person who cut you off in traffic just got served divorce papers unexpectedly. Maybe just maybe that smile you gave, saved someone from committing suicide.

Now, you know how you’ve treated God’s people today, so tomorrow, do better.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Comfortable Airplane Ride

I fly a lot and the single complaint I hear the most is the seats are not comfortable. These people paid for economy seats and expected first class leg room.

No one ever thinks about the pilot. He has an uncomfortable seat also. Have you ever set in a cockpit? I have, I use to fix aircraft and the pilots don’t have first class seating either. Not only do they have uncomfortable seating, they have to multitask the whole flight to ensure we get to our destination safely.

Sometimes we treat Jesus the same as we do the airlines. We want a comfortable ride. We give Jesus a low economy praise and we want him to give us a first class blessing. We never ask him how he feels and we don’t realize he’s constantly multitasking while getting us safely to our destiny. Whenever Jesus doesn’t give us our first class blessing, we start complaining how much we don’t like the church and how many problems the church has.

Keep in mind, you can’t come against God’s church and think he’s going to be ok with that. So stop looking for the comfortable airplane ride in the natural and the spiritual, if you are only willing to pay economy prices.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

After The Storm

When we were giving the all clear today after the storm was over, the sun was shining bright. So, I went bike riding.

As I began to ride my bike, the wind started blowing hard. I was literally riding my bike in slow motion. As I was riding, God began to speaking to me letting me know, because the sun is shining doesn’t mean that you don’t need me anymore. I let the wind blow just to show you, without me there is nothing you can do.

See, when the storm was coming numerous prayers were offered up to God. But, as soon as the storm was over; it was back to business as usual.

God shouldn’t have to bring a storm to get us to pray and he shouldn’t have to keep the wind blowing to keep us praying.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

The Storms Coming

Tomorrow the typhoon is suppose to hit us, so everyone is making preparations today. In making all of these preparations I wonder how many of us are preparing our souls as well.

Have we asked for forgiveness, have we repented, have we loved with all of our hearts? It’s funny how we store up water, batteries, flashlights and so on; and we take our souls for granted.

The older generation use to sing there’s a storm out on the ocean and it’s moving this ole way and if your souls not anchored in Jesus then you will surely drift away. Isn’t it something how the meteorologist can predict when the storm is going to hit, but they cannot predict how our souls are going to fare after the storm.

I think today is a great day to get your soul right and no matter what the storm brings; whether death, destruction or both you know without a doubt that your soul is anchored in the Lord.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Speak Lord

When we pray; speak to me Lord, how do we look for him to speak? Are we missing the voice of God because we think we know how he’s going to answer us?

I’ve learned to look for God through everything. The birds, the fowl of the air, children, tv, work, church, etc… We serve a multidimensional God, so why do we expect him to show up in one way and the same way all the time.

The next time you say; speak to me Lord, start listening for his voice. He doesn’t always come through prophets. He comes through at anywhere, anytime and anyplace.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Asking All These Questions

Today I decided to take off work and spend the day with my grandson. While we were getting ready for the day, he began to talk to me and tell me all about his friends. When he finished talking, I started asking him questions about what he just told me. He answered my questions, then all of a sudden, he started singing: asking all these, asking all these questions, why you asking all these questions. Did I mention he’s only 3yrs old.

I started laughing and the Holy Spirit said; that’s what you do. The Lord begins talking to you and telling you things but because you won’t take him totally at his word, you be asking all these questions. I was like WOW!!! And a child shall lead them.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.

Blaming Others

Stop blaming others for where you are in life. You need to look in the mirror and point the finger at yourself. What role have you played in your own destiny? What role have you played that has you in this position?

Blaming others is as old as the bible. Adam blamed God for giving him Eve when they sinned. Adam said, that woman you gave me Lord. In other words, Lord I refuse to take any responsibility for my actions.

It’s not always easy to admit to ourselves that we have failed. It’s not always easy to admit that we are the cause for us being where we are in life. But, if we look at our failures as a stepping stone to our success; blaming others, will be a thing of the past.

Be blessed and continue to be a blessing.
